The air was filled with the faint scent of flowers brought by landscaping work, hovercars whizzed through the air, perfectly coordinated by the automatic driving system, while all sorts of people could be seen walking along the streets.

At first glance, life in the new era controlled by the Mainframe didn’t seem all that different from before—at least there hadn’t been earth-shattering changes.

If you had to say the biggest difference, it would be that the number of “handsome men and beautiful women” on the street had increased.

In the past, in the early morning hours, the streets were mostly filled with lifeless office workers who didn’t have time to match their clothes or fix their hair, and if they managed to wash their face and brush their teeth, it was considered decent—they looked like walking corpses.

But now, at a glance, the streets were filled with stylishly dressed passersby wearing trendy clothes, each one radiating energy and vitality, glowing with health.

“Go to hell, jerk!” The sisters pulled at Chu Nanyi’s clothes, raining down punches and kicks, and left hand in hand after venting their anger.

Chu Nanyi sat on the ground, face in his hands, sighing when Su Mo came over, greeted him, and said with a laugh, “Young Master Chu, the renowned Edge Love Saint getting entangled with girls? Haven’t seen you mess up like this in years~”

When Chu Nanyi saw Su Mo, he froze, then a wave of joy washed over his face: “Commander? Holy shit?! Commander, you’re awake?!”

He didn’t even bother wiping the dust off his clothes, excitedly rushing over to give Su Mo a bear hug.

Chu Nanyi quickly asked, “When did you wake up? Are you alright?”

Su Mo smiled and said, “Not long ago, everything’s fine. How about you? How have things been these past few years?”

Chu Nanyi lazily replied, “Same as always, just going around enjoying myself and hitting on girls. Oh… about earlier, you have to keep it a secret for me, it’s too embarrassing to let it get out.”

With that, he headed towards the nearby supermarket: “Ah, I’ve made a mess of myself, I’m gonna buy a bottle of water to clean up, and some drinks.”

Su Mo quickly stepped up: “Let me pay. What do you guys want to drink? It’s on me.”

Upon hearing this, Chu Nanyi, Future, and Qi Ling were all stunned.

Then they suddenly burst into laughter.

Future playfully tapped her head: “Was too excited earlier, forgot.”

You need money to buy food, to take transportation, you can’t get away from money anywhere you go.

Su Mo asked in confusion: “Then what do you use to buy things now?”

Chu Nanyi shrugged: “In fact, there’s no concept of ‘buying’ either. For daily necessities like food and drinks, you just go find a place and take them directly.”

With that, he led the way into the supermarket and said to the attendant, “Hello, one bottle of water, four bottles of cola.”

The attendant pressed a few buttons on the holographic screen in front, and the smart shelf delivered the five items, bagging them. She smiled brightly and said, “Please enjoy, see you next time.”

Seeing Chu Nanyi walk off with the items without giving anything, Su Mo asked, “Is that it?”

Su Mo instinctively looked.

Under the gaze of strangers, most people would appear tense, but this attendant showed no signs of discomfort, maintaining a generous smile while looking directly at Su Mo.

Chu Nanyi nodded and laughed, “Yes, a constructed being. Now, all ‘production roles’ in human society, including agriculture, industry, manufacturing, and so on, as well as all ‘service roles,’ are handled by Worker Bee constructs.”

“Let me tell you, these constructs are incredibly diligent. Except for necessary eating and resting, they’re always working. Everything you see now, from the towering buildings to everyday goods, are all produced by constructs working tirelessly.”
