After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects
Chapter 49: Peak Level Nine Beast Arrives with Full Beast Tide
Not to keep Jiang Yun waiting, a few moments after the call for backup, movement could be seen in the distance. The terrain in the distance instantly changed color as hundreds of thousands of beasts suddenly appeared, completely covering the landscape.
Jiang Yun then thought that what Su Qing said was true. The sheer amount of beasts stretched as far as the eye can see. Everything is completely overrun by these beasts.
As these beasts approached, soon the leader could be seen in front of all of them. The beast in front was some kind of lion beast emitting the powerful aura of a peak level nine beast.
A short period later, all the beasts had arrived in front of the Flower Supreme Sect. The lion beast then jumped and appeared right in front of Jiang Yun.
The lion beast asked, "What trouble has appeared for you to call for me?"
The level eight beast replied, "This man in front of you has killed the level eight beast that had come with me. I request your assistance, as I am unable to deal with him myself."
The lion beast asked, confused, "You mean this human with no presence? What kind of power could such a weak looking human possibly have. I will just kill him right now."
The lion beast then raised its paw and slammed it down with heavy force, intending to kill Jiang Yun in one strike.
Jiang Yun remained motionless, as there was no need to make a move. Instead, he spread his pressure, instantly freezing the paw of the lion beast.
The lion beast then struggled to continue forward, confused as to why it could not move its paw. As the lion beast continued trying, it realized the man in front of it had stopped its attack.
The lion beast then asked, "What have you done to me? You cannot possibly be this strong as to stop me without even making a move."
Jiang Yun then asked his own question, "Is this your entire force or is there more to the beast tide."
The lion beast, not receiving an answer, was very annoyed, but what Jiang Yun said reminded it that there was still an army of beasts.
The lion beast then roared, "All of you attack right now."
The hundreds of thousands of beasts then moved forward, obeying orders to attack. As they moved forward, trying to overwhelm Jiang Yun with numbers, they all froze in place, unable to move.
The lion beast was shocked by Jiang Yun's power, as even with all the lion beast's power, producing such a result would be impossible. There were too many beasts to stop all at once.
Su Qing and her sect master, who were still watching, were equally shocked. They assumed Jiang Yun was very powerful, but not to this point. Now they were unsure what kind of strength Jiang Yun truly had.
Jiang Yun then asked again, "Is this all of your forces?"
The lion beast was now very afraid, as a beast itself, sensing danger was much more heightened than for a human. The lion beast instantly recognized that Jiang Yun was dangerous.
In fear, the lion beast replied quickly, "Yes, this is all my forces. I have gathered all the beasts that would listen to me here to start a beast tide. The only ones left are not part of my forces, as they refuse to listen or are ordinary low-level beasts."
Finally receiving an answer, Jiang Yun was relieved, as he could finally eliminate the annoying beast tide here and now. After destroying this beast tide, another one should not appear again for a long time, as so many of them would be killed today.
As Jiang Yun increased the pressure he was emitting, intending to kill all the beasts, he was suddenly stopped by Su Qing.
Su Qing said, "You cannot kill all the beasts here. Even though they attacked today, they are still an important part of the mountains and forests. If you kill so many, the environment will be devastated and mortals will suffer."
Not thinking about the consequences, Jiang Yun understood that what Su Qing said was correct. Killing hundreds of thousands of beasts will cause a massive gap in the ecosystem.
Jiang Yun then made a compromise and started increasing his pressure on a select few who were the strongest of the group. Any of the beasts stronger than level four were killed.
The majority of the beasts were low level and killing any beast above level four amounted to a few tens of thousands rather than the original hundreds of thousands.
After finishing, Jiang Yun let go of the pressure he was emmiting. As the beasts no longer felt the pressure, they all ran away quickly in fear. Their lives were far more important than continuing to follow orders.
This left only two beasts left, which were the intelligent beasts that could talk. Jiang Yun originally intended to kill them, but reconsidered, as these types of beasts that could talk were rare.
As Jiang Yun was debating, the lion beast started trying to beg for mercy, "Please let us live, we are the few beasts who have enough intelligence to speak. We can be useful to you if you give us the chance."
Jiang Yun, having received a suggestion, asked, "What kind of help could you possibly provide me?"
The lion beast said, "We can be your pets and do what you want. If you have a group of people to protect, we can also protect them. If you do not believe us, we can swear to heaven."
Jiang Yun then thought about it, as he had been outside the sect quite a lot lately, leaving the sect quite vulnerable. As everyone was constantly in seclusion, nobody was really protecting the sect.
These beasts are quite high level, as one was a peak level nine and the other was a level eight. Having them guard the front of the sect should make it relatively safe.
Jiang Yun then made a decision and said, "Then swear to heaven you mean what you say, and then you can follow me back to my sect to protect the gate."
The lion beast and the level eight beast then made a swear.
Jiang Yun then used the rules of the dao to further enforce their swear, which caused heavy thunder to fall from the sky, hitting both of them.
The thunder did not kill them, but trapped energy in their bodies to kill them if they ever betray their oaths.
The two beasts were confused as to why they were just struck by lightning and why they were unharmed. They then felt an oppressing energy inside them, which they instantly knew was a binding oath that had formed inside their bodies.
Satisfied by their decisive oaths, Jiang Yun was about to take the two beasts back to the sect, as he had resolved the beast tide. As for the rest of the beasts that he let go they were simply too weak and scattered to cause any trouble.
As Jiang Yun was about to leave, the lion beast started to change form and was getting smaller. As the transformation was finishing, what appeared to be a blonde haired, tall, lion eared woman took the lion beast's place.
Jiang Yun was surprised that the lion beast could transform, and asked, "Can that other beast do the same?"
The lion beast then replied, "My companion is only a level eight tiger beast and has not reached sufficient power to transform yet."
Jiang Yun then asked another question, "Why did you decide to transform now?"
The lion beast replied, "It is easier to speak human words in a human body. Not to mention, it will draw less attention and fear compared to when I am still in lion form."
Jiang Yun then understood what had happened, as her explanations made sense.
The lion beast then said, "I also transformed so I could explain something which would be quite tiring to say it all in my lion form."
Jiang Yun then asked, "What do you need to explain?"
The lion beast explained, "Firstly, I should introduce myself, I am the thirteenth-generation beast king Shi Ying. A few generations ago, a group of powerful humans came to my ancestors and forced us to start a beast tide."
Jiang Yun then asked, "Why did they make you start beast tides?"
Shi Ying replied, "I do not know. These humans appear every hundred years or so to make us start a beast tide again. These humans have people with strong bodies that rival us beasts, and some of them have strong mental control to drive some of us beasts into a frenzy."
Jiang Yun then asked, "Is there any other noticeable detail?"
Shi Ying replied, "They came again to me recently and were a powerful group that I could not fight back against and could only comply. They had almost a hundred people who were at the Mahayana realm."
This started making Jiang Yun curious as to where did so many powerful cultivators came from. After the demonic sects attacked, such power has long been killed. Such a group appearing out of nowhere simply made no sense.
Jiang Yun then asked, "Do you know where they are?"
Shi Ying replied, "They are a mysterious group, so I do not know their whereabouts."
Jiang Yun could only sigh, as future trouble seemed to have appeared again. Maybe in the future this group will appear to cause trouble, as the beast tide they set up ended so early before it could cause trouble.
Jiang Yun then turned to Su Qing and her sect leader and said, "We shall be taking our leave now."
Su Qing and her sect leader, understanding it was time for Jiang Yun to leave, quickly gave their gratitude and sent him off.
Jiang Yun then took the two beasts and disappeared back to his sect, preparing to deal with the coming trouble.
