Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Face-Slapping! True Identity!
Sheila Whitaker took the letter and opened it with trembling fingers. The handwriting on the stationery was elegant and delicate, clearly written by a woman.
"Morgan, I’ve thought it through. I still love Finn more, but I love you too. I really wish the three of us could be together forever... You said before that you wanted to divorce Sheila Whitaker, or fake a car accident to make her pass away so you could marry me. But I’m sorry, I can’t leave Finn."
Reading this, Sheila’s fingers gripped the letter tightly, a terrifying chill rising up her spine.
Divorce her... Fake a car accident to kill her... Morgan Everett, that piece of trash, actually wanted her dead! Who was Finn? Another man? Hah, it served Morgan right not to be chosen!
The next paragraph of the letter instantly turned Sheila’s anger into pure disgust.
"Morgan, I’m pregnant. At first, I didn’t know if the child was yours or Finn’s. I calculated the time, and I got pregnant the time the three of us were together. That night, you, Finn, and I spent a wonderful night together... I’ll never forget that day. I really wish the three of us could be together forever... After I got pregnant, I didn’t know whose child it was. Later, I did a paternity test and found out she is Finn’s. But I can’t raise her. Morgan, can you help me raise her? I’ve already picked a name for her. It’s Shannon..."
Sheila was both furious and sickened, her hands shaking violently as she clutched the paper.
In addition to the letter, there were a few photographs. Forcing down her nausea, she turned them over. With just one glance, she nearly threw up! The photos actually depicted a chaotic, insane scene of their debauchery! They were completely naked, disregarding any moral decency. It was utterly obscene.
Unable to hold it in any longer, a sourness surged up her throat, and she leaned over, dry-heaving. It was so filthy. So disgusting. She was going to vomit!
Wyatt, Lucas, and the others were entirely stunned when they saw the letter and caught a glimpse of those wretched, lewd, and degrading photos. They realized this was why their eldest brother hadn’t wanted their mother to see them. How could their father do such a thing? Not only had he cheated, but he had done it in such a depraved manner. And why would he keep such obscene photos locked away in a safe?
With his deeply buried secrets exposed to the light of day for everyone to see, Morgan’s scalp prickled with numbness. His heart plummeted like a roller coaster. His entire body tensed and stiffened to the point of breaking. He wondered how his sons would look at him now, and what Sheila would think of him.
After a long moment, drenched in a cold sweat and with a deathly pale face, Morgan lunged forward, trying to snatch the photos back.
"Get away! Don’t come near me!" Sheila dodged him in disgust, screaming at the top of her lungs as she tried to rip the filthy letter and photos to shreds.
"No! Don’t tear them!" Morgan yelled frantically, desperate to save them. "These are the last things she left me!"
Sheila froze at his words, then let out a sharp, agonized shriek. "Morgan Everett! How do you even have the face to say that?!"
He still deeply loved that woman even now! These vile, dirty things were the final mementos that woman had left him, so he had kept them locked away in a safe all this time... How could he be so insane?!
Mason Everett had initially found it strange that Morgan would keep these things. But hearing this reason, he found it absolutely unbelievable.
Miles Everett stared at Morgan like he was looking at a madman. Morgan was crazy. Where did this leave their mother? No, ever since Morgan plotted to fake a car accident to kill her, there was clearly no longer any appropriate affection for their mother in his heart. What was more, Shannon Everett was only a few months younger than Sienna. That meant that while their mother was pregnant with Sienna, Morgan had been out fooling around. It was during that chaotic night that the woman had gotten pregnant with Finn’s child...
At that moment, Shannon stared dumbfounded at the lewd, dirty photos, her mind reeling in a daze. The slutty woman in the picture was her mother, and that man named Finn was her father... Why...?
"AHHH!"
Shannon gripped her hair with both hands, her face contorted in pain and resentment. She refused to accept such a filthy origin! Why couldn’t that bitch Sienna have such a dirty origin?! Morgan... Right, there was still Morgan! The filthy Morgan Everett was Sienna’s biological father!
"Hahahaha!" Shannon suddenly burst into manic laughter. "Sienna, look at the man in the photo! That cheap, debauched Morgan is your biological father! Hahahaha!"
Julian Forrester’s eyes instantly darkened, a stormy blizzard of fury surging in his gaze. Shielding Sienna, he tilted his head to signal Keith Sterling.
Keith had wanted to slap Shannon to death since earlier. Now fully unleashed, he threw a punch that shut her right up. Still unsatisfied, he added a few sharp kicks for good measure. Beaten black and blue, Shannon was seething with impotent rage and opened her mouth to scream.
Suddenly, Sheila charged over and grabbed Shannon by the collar, looking ready to fight her to the death. "Try bullying my daughter again! I dare you to try bullying Sienna again!"
The grief in Sheila’s heart burned her eyes, and scalding tears streamed down her face. Even if Shannon wasn’t related to Morgan by blood, she was still the child of the woman Morgan had cheated with. She was the mistress’s child!
How could she have been so blind in the past? Instead of treating her own biological daughter well, she had let herself be foolishly deceived into raising a mistress’s bastard! And she had raised her for so many years, giving her all her heart and soul... When she was dressing Shannon in new clothes, her own biological daughter had been languishing all alone in an orphanage. When she took Shannon to the amusement park to eat birthday cake, she hadn’t known if her real daughter had enough to eat or warm clothes to wear, nor how much suffering she had endured...
On the verge of a breakdown, Sheila wept uncontrollably. As if venting all her pent-up rage, she tore at Shannon’s hair, wanting to exact revenge for all the ways she had wronged Sienna in the past.
Scratched and bleeding, Shannon was left in a thoroughly wretched state. Morgan ran over, trying to protect her, but Sheila immediately began beating him as well. "You piece of trash! You’re the one who deserves to be beaten the most! You even wanted to fake a car accident to kill me! You’re the one who deserves to die most, Morgan!"
"Sheila, stop acting crazy!" Morgan shouted.
Wyatt and Dustin Everett instantly rushed forward and pinned Morgan down. "You’re the one who’s crazy!"
Morgan struggled to get free, but he couldn’t break their hold, leaving him at the mercy of Sheila’s relentless blows.
Suffocating with fury, Sheila vented it all on Morgan. But out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Sienna’s indifferent expression nearby. Her movements halted instantly, a sudden fear washing over her that her daughter was witnessing her in such a hysterical, undignified state.
She hurriedly stopped her hands and smoothed her hair, wanting to leave her daughter with one last respectable impression. But halfway through fixing herself up, her tears could no longer be held back. Blurring her vision, she sobbed as she ran toward Sienna, wanting to hug her, just wanting to touch her.
However, seeing Sienna’s unruffled, tranquil expression, Sheila’s heart ached fiercely, as if it were being tightly bound by iron wire. The thin wire bit into her flesh, hurting so much it bled. Her hands, yearning to touch her daughter, trembled, not daring to reach out. When her Sienna looked at her now, there was no longer any familial love in her eyes—only a detached pity.
Her legs giving out, Sheila collapsed weakly onto the floor at Sienna’s feet. Her face covered in tears, she cried, "Sienna... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."
She thought, "Your mother never loved you even once... Now I want to love you properly, but I’ve already made an irreparable, irreversible mistake..."
Watching this scene, Dustin’s eyes grew moist. Unable to bear the sight, he turned his head away.
Slumped on the floor, her heart overflowing with remorse, Sheila realized there was still one more thing—one last thing she could do for Sienna!
