Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Identity Exposed! Starlight Consortium’s Big Boss Shareholder

Morgan Everett’s face was incredibly grim. "She’s about to sign the contract! If she isn’t selling the shares, what is she doing?!"

What was even more terrifying was that Shannon was selling the shares behind their backs while he and Sheila were in prison. What was she trying to do? Was she planning to take the money and run? Did she have absolutely no regard for her parents who were locked up in jail?!

Sheila Whitaker shook her head repeatedly, so utterly in disbelief that she was in a daze. "No... Shannon wouldn’t do this. She wouldn’t... Maybe... maybe she’s trying to raise money to save us!"

Hearing this, Morgan looked at her skeptically.

Unwilling to give up, Sheila scrambled for excuses, her anxiety rendering her somewhat incoherent. "Morgan, think about it! Both of us are in prison. If Shannon wants to bail us out, she definitely needs to pull strings and hire lawyers to fight the case. All of this costs money, and a lot of it! Where would Shannon get that kind of money? She has no choice but to sell the shares to raise the funds!"

"Is that it..." Hearing this reasoning, Morgan’s anger began to wane. At the end of the day, he simply didn’t want to believe that Shannon would abandon him, her own father.

"That has to be it! Shannon is definitely raising money for us!" Sheila kept convincing herself. She had doted on Shannon so much in the past, treating her even better than her own biological daughter. Shannon surely knew how to be grateful and filial.

Morgan’s complexion improved considerably. Because of his bottomless favoritism toward Shannon over the years, his inner compass was already skewed, making him easily agree with Sheila’s words.

That was right. Shannon was definitely selling the shares to raise money to save him!

Keith Sterling was completely eye-opened by their conversation, absolutely astounded by their level of stupidity. "Holy shit! I’ve seen stupid people, but never this stupid! They’re both dumb and evil!"

Evan Shelby scoffed. "Heh. Stubborn to the bitter end!"

Morgan continued to argue stubbornly, "Shannon is my daughter! Of course I trust her!"

Sienna Everett glanced at him with indifferent eyes, wondering where on earth his trust for Shannon came from. She took out her phone, typed a text message, and sent it to Felicity Thorne.

On the large screen.

Just as Shannon picked up the pen to sign the contract, she suddenly paused. Looking at Felicity sitting across from her, she asked, "Manager Thorne, you mentioned on the phone that the head of your headquarters is inspecting the Celestria Branch and would make time to meet with me?"

Shannon was still fixated on the boss of the Starlight Consortium. She wanted to use today’s contract signing as an opportunity to meet them, thereby building a powerful connection—killing two birds with one stone.

Felicity smiled. "Don’t worry, Miss Everett. Our boss will be here very soon. You’ll get to meet them shortly."

With that, Felicity picked up her phone and glanced at the message Sienna had just sent. Then, looking up at Shannon, she followed Sienna’s instructions and asked, "Miss Everett, I heard that the Everett family is in trouble and your parents are facing prison time?"

Hearing this, Shannon sighed, a look of feigned sorrow washing over her face. "You don’t understand, Manager Thorne. My parents did something wrong. Alas, how could they be so foolish as to engage in illegal activities? Going to prison is the price they deserve to pay."

Watching this, Morgan frowned deeply once again.

Sheila couldn’t help but grow suspicious as well. How... how could Shannon say such a thing? What did she mean by prison being the price they deserved to pay? Back then, the idea to kidnap Isabelle Sutton to threaten Sienna was Shannon’s idea! Shannon was the first one to suggest it; she was the mastermind!

On the video feed, Felicity continued to follow Sienna’s instructions. "Miss Everett, when we previously negotiated the purchase of Everett Corporation’s shares, your parents hadn’t gotten into trouble yet. Now that they’re in prison, such massive negative news will definitely impact the company’s stock price and market value..."

Shannon instantly grew tense. "Manager Thorne, are you trying to lower the price at the last minute?"

Felicity smiled faintly. "Of course not. A massive company like the Starlight Consortium always keeps its word."

Shannon breathed a sigh of relief. As expected of the Starlight Consortium—incredibly wealthy and generous.

"However," Felicity said, abruptly changing the subject, "Miss Everett, you’re currently selling Everett Corporation’s shares behind your parents’ backs. If they find out, will they come to cause trouble for us?"

Shannon was eager to sell the shares. She could no longer stand staying in the Everett family home, especially with Mason and his four brothers, who didn’t even bother to hide their hostility toward her.

Hearing Felicity’s question, Shannon quickly promised, "Manager Thorne, rest assured, my parents won’t have the chance to cause you any trouble! They committed a crime and will be locked up for at least several years! Or rather... they might never get out of prison at all!!"

Locked up for at least several years... Or rather... they might never get out of prison at all...

Hearing Shannon’s words, Morgan could no longer deceive himself. BANG! He slammed his fist onto the table and roared in a fury, "Shannon Everett!!"

That Shannon! She wasn’t selling the shares to raise money for them! She wanted to sell the shares, hollow out the Everett family, bleed them dry, and take the money to live it up! She even wanted him to be locked up for years, or even rot in prison forever!! How dare she?!

Sheila looked dazed, nearly stumbling to the floor as her face drained of color. "Shannon... she... how could she say such a thing? She doesn’t want to save us. She actually wants us locked in prison forever..."

Was this still her sensible, filial, considerate, and obedient daughter? Was all her past devotion just an act? Although Sheila wasn’t Shannon’s biological mother, she had never mistreated her. She had treated her even better than her own flesh and blood! She had even chosen to go to prison rather than give Shannon up, insisting that Isabelle’s kidnapping had nothing to do with her. Yet in the end... she had simply raised a backstabbing, ungrateful wretch!

Sheila clutched her chest, suffocating from the sheer heartbreak.

Morgan’s state was no better than Sheila’s. He glared furiously at Shannon on the large screen, watching her gleefully negotiate the sale of the shares with Felicity. Gritting his teeth, he cursed, "That bastard! Animal!! This is how she shows her filial piety?!"

With that, he tried to storm out and settle the score with Shannon.

Evan reached out to block him again, mocking him sarcastically, "She was filial enough to send you to prison. How wonderful. And yet, here you are complaining. Where do you think you’re going? Stay exactly where you are!"

After saying that, Evan shot Sienna a meaningful look.

Sienna nodded slightly. Standing up, she headed to the adjacent room with him.

In the adjacent room.

Shannon asked impatiently, "Manager Thorne, why isn’t your boss here yet?"

Felicity smiled. "Please wait a moment, Miss Everett. Our boss is on the way."

Shannon looked toward the door with eyes full of anticipation, wondering if the mysterious boss of the Starlight Consortium was male or female, what they looked like, and how old they were. But regardless of their gender, she was determined to befriend this boss today.

Amidst Shannon’s anxious anticipation, the door handle suddenly turned. Someone was coming in!

Shannon took a deep breath to calm her excitement and stood up respectfully. When facing the boss of the Starlight Consortium, she naturally had to show the utmost respect.

As the door opened, an assistant-like figure bowed slightly and made a polite gesture of invitation. "Boss, after you."

After pushing the door wide, the assistant stepped aside with reverence.

Immediately after, two figures stepped into the room, one behind the other.

Shannon’s fingers unconsciously gripped the hem of her clothes as she looked over with intense excitement.

However, a second later, upon clearly seeing who had arrived, her mind reeled. Her expression instantly stiffened, looking as if she had just seen a ghost.

Si... Sienna?! Why was she here?! And Evan... What was going on?! Could it be...

A terrifying thought suddenly popped into Shannon’s head. She immediately turned to Felicity, swallowing hard in panic, and asked in sheer disbelief, "Manager Thorne, your boss... is Sienna?"

Felicity shook her head. "No."

Hearing this answer, Shannon let out a heavy sigh of relief. No. Thank goodness it wasn’t. Heh, she had almost been scared to death by that bitch Sienna!

Yet, before she could even finish her sigh, Felicity introduced her respectfully, "Miss Sienna Everett is the major behind-the-scenes shareholder of our Starlight Consortium."

Shannon froze, her eyes widening as if she had just heard something utterly horrifying. Her hand trembled, accidentally knocking over her coffee cup on the table. It crashed to the floor with a SMASH, shattering into pieces. Boiling hot coffee spilled everywhere, splashing onto her legs, yet she didn’t even react.

What did Felicity just say? Sienna was... the major behind-the-scenes shareholder of the Starlight Consortium... The big boss and shareholder who, when the Starlight Consortium was on the verge of bankruptcy, injected a massive amount of capital, charted the company’s development direction, and single-handedly brought the Starlight Consortium back from the dead?!!
