Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Divorce Him in 5 Days?

Sienna Everett’s mind went blank for a moment as she listened to Julian Forrester’s confession, which sounded like a vow.

She could feel her heart pounding violently, a powerful, tingling tremor surging through her with every beat.

’No matter if you like me or not, I will always love you, always treat you incredibly, incredibly well...’

It was impossible for Sienna Everett not to be moved by such words.

But this kind of one-sided devotion was unfair to Julian Forrester.

Sienna Everett’s fingers twitched, and she pulled away from Julian Forrester’s embrace.

Just as Julian Forrester finished his confession, he saw Sienna Everett pull away, as if she were deliberately creating distance.

His eyes dimmed for a moment, but then the corners of his lips quirked up. His tone returned to its usual languor as he said nonchalantly:

"It’s okay if you don’t accept me right now, Sienna. It just means I haven’t done well enough."

"Then I’ll just keep trying to find ways to be even better to you."

Sienna Everett’s heart clenched.

Sunlight poured through the pristine glass of the balcony doors, casting a shimmering glow on his long eyelashes. His deep, dark eyes were like flawless black jade, and in them, he held her reflection.

A man so unattainable, so exquisitely handsome and noble.

And he was just... waiting for her, never pressuring her, completely respecting her wishes...

’Ever since he confessed to me, he must have been desperately hoping for an answer.’

Sienna Everett stared at him for a moment. Her dark, curly lashes fluttered, and her glossy red lips parted. "Grandpa mentioned earlier that our first wedding anniversary is in five days. That’s also... when our divorce agreement is set to expire."

Julian Forrester knew her well enough to understand her meaning instantly.

’In five days, she’ll decide whether or not to divorce me.’

’She’ll also give me an answer to my confession.’

Julian Forrester quickly assessed the situation. No matter how he ran the numbers, the outcome seemed more or less the same: the probability of her rejecting him in five days was still very high...

Seeing his silence, Sienna Everett cleared her throat and asked, "Are you worried I’ll divorce you?"

"Worried," he admitted, his gaze deep and heavy. "I did a rough calculation. There’s a 73% probability that you’ll divorce me."

Sienna Everett: "?"

73%?

’What the heck is that??’

’How did he even calculate that???’

Sienna Everett blinked, completely dumbfounded. Just as she was about to ask what on earth he meant by 73%, her phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Stella Shaw.

Sienna Everett answered casually. "Hello, Ophelia."

"Sienna, get on X right now," Stella Shaw said, direct as always. "Rowan Rhodes, who was on the show with you today, posted a photo of the two of you. He’s saying his fan dream came true. You should go on and post a reply."

"Oh, right. Okay, I’ve got it."

After hanging up, Sienna Everett said to Julian Forrester, "I need to take care of something quickly."

Julian Forrester glanced down and watched her open the X app.

Sienna Everett opened X and, sure enough, saw a trending topic: #RowanRhodesSuccessfullyMeetsHisIdolSiennaEverett#.

She tapped on it and saw Rowan Rhodes’s latest post:

[I finally got to meet Sierra today!! She’s not just gorgeous, she’s also incredibly talented and knows so much!!! I even got her autograph, just had to show it off to everyone!!]

’He sounds really excited,’ she thought, noticing all the exclamation points.

He had also posted the photo of the autograph she’d given him earlier.

Sienna Everett then realized that Rowan Rhodes had followed her on X a long time ago. He’d been a fan for a while, but she had never noticed.

Sienna Everett followed Rowan Rhodes back and left a couple of friendly comments on his post.

The online peanut gallery immediately came alive, spamming mentions for Rowan Rhodes.

[@Rowan Rhodes, get over here! Your idol replied to you!]

[I’ve looked at the photo of Sienna Everett and Rowan Rhodes a few times now, and I have to say, with those puppy-dog eyes, he’s got that total ’sweet puppy’ vibe. He’s really handsome, and he and Sienna Everett look great together.]

Sienna Everett saw these comments, zoomed in on Rowan Rhodes in the photo, and after a moment, nodded and muttered to herself, "He is pretty handsome."

The words had barely left her lips when Julian Forrester’s hand shot out and snatched her phone.

Sienna Everett looked up in confusion. "What are you doing?"

A humorless smile played on Julian Forrester’s lips as he looked at her. "Handsome?"

Sienna Everett: "..."

’You can’t be serious.’

’How did I never realize he was such a jealous person?’

Julian Forrester stood up, pulled Sienna Everett back into the room, and picked up a photo album from the desk. He flipped to a certain page and asked in a low voice, "That... Rhodes, or whatever his name was?"

Sienna Everett immediately supplied, "Rowan Rhodes!"

Julian Forrester shot her a sidelong glance and said coolly, "You certainly seem to remember his name clearly enough."

Sienna Everett: "..."

’What a trap!’

’He totally did that on purpose!’

Julian Forrester tapped a page in the album twice with his long, fair fingers. "This person in the photo... compared to that Rowan Rhodes, who’s more handsome?"

Sienna Everett glanced down, and when she saw the person in the photo, the corner of her mouth twitched.

But she knew what was good for her. Without a second of hesitation, she answered brightly, "Of course the person in the photo is more handsome!"

Julian Forrester tilted his head to look at her. "What’s handsome about him?"

"Everything about him is handsome!" Sienna Everett pointed at the person in the photo. "This handsome gentleman is not only dashing and debonair, suave and sophisticated, but he’s also dignified, magnanimous, peerless in this world, with a noble air, overflowing with talent, sharp-eyed, resourceful, and the perfect combination of brains and beauty!"

Sienna Everett rattled off the long list without taking a breath, then tilted her head up, blinking her big, shimmering eyes at Julian Forrester as if to ask, ’Was that satisfactory?’

Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow. "Why does it sound like you’re praising him so reluctantly?"

"Not at all!" Sienna Everett put on a serious expression and summarized, "Truly, I have never in my life seen anyone more handsome than the person in this photo!"

Julian Forrester finally seemed satisfied and decided to let her off the hook.

Sienna Everett was speechless. She’d never realized he could be so possessive. She pointed to the photo and asked, "When was this taken?"

She had recognized the person in the photo at first glance—it was obviously Julian Forrester.

"In college," he answered, his tone languid.

Her interest was immediately piqued. That was during the time they’d had their falling out and weren’t in contact. Curious, she took the album and began flipping through it, wanting to see what his life had been like after they’d grown apart.

But after flipping through the whole thing, she found that he clearly didn’t like having his picture taken. There were hardly any photos of him, and most of the pictures were of the two of them together as children.

Sienna Everett blinked. "You kept all these photos of us?"

Hearing that, Julian Forrester glanced up at her. "Did you throw yours away?"

"Of course not," Sienna Everett immediately protested. "They’re all at my grandparents’ house. I’ve always kept them."

Julian Forrester’s gaze suddenly deepened. He reached out and ruffled her hair, but as if that wasn’t enough, he pulled her into his arms. "I just suddenly felt like holding you."

Sienna Everett was completely bewildered, unsure what had just happened to make him suddenly want to hug her.

After he held her for a moment, she placed her hands on his chest to push him away. "Alright, alright, that’s enough."

Julian Forrester glanced at her hands pushing him away, one eyebrow arching. "Getting tired of me already?"

Sienna Everett immediately objected with mock indignation, "What are you talking about? What do you mean ’getting tired of you *now*’? I’ve been tired of you for ages!"

Julian Forrester: "..."
