Chapter 1992: Discussion With The Gnome Emperor
The Gnome Emperor mentioned the last time the Gnomes were made to hasten their attack on the Human World due to a Human touching the borders of the God Plane. If they have received the same information now, doesn’t that mean someone from the Human World has touched the borders and the Gnomes would also have to hasten their attack on the Human World?
Grey felt like his head was about to explode, even though he was currently controlling the mind of the Seventh Prince, he could still feel the sudden wave of headache he was struck with in his main body after getting this news. He only wanted to use the body of the Seventh Prince to scout the region since he was not too far from it, never did he think that he would receive such news. At the moment, he could not help but wonder just who that person is that has touched the borders of the God Plane. Given the current way of things, he felt it would most likely be those old experts from the ancient Factions who had been in the Half God Plane for thousands of years. This thought process was normal, after all, the others had not been in the Half God Plane for too long.
There is also the possibility that some of the newer Half God Plane experts might be the ones. Take his Father for example, even though he had only been in the Half God Plane for less than a fifty years or so, he was still touted as one of the strongest experts in the Half God Plane, even by the older guys of those ancient Factions. That alone proved that he had the right to be considered as one of the few that might be able to break through to the God Plane in a matter of time.
Thinking about this, Grey asked, “Wait, so how come the Humans failed to produce a God Plane expert during the last invasion? If I’m not wrong, we failed to conquer them the last time.”
The Emperor explained, “You see, the reason we failed to succeed is precisely because of the Human that should have broken through to the God Plane. He had no choice than to sacrifice himself to seal the largest passage between the two worlds. In fact, he not only sealed it, but he also strengthened the Human World Boundaries. This is the reason it took so long for us to open more passages. Most of these passages have been existing since the last war, they were just hidden in the void.”
Grey nodded in understanding. Even with the major passage sealed, he had always felt the Gnomes should have been able to break the seal a long time ago. He has seen a couple of passages and has even sealed a few. He did not see the reason why the Gnomes had to wait for thousands of years. Only after hearing the Emperor’s explanation did he understand. Most of these passages were only recently reopened, which meant the Gnomes have not been able to use them for a while now.
“You said our origin essence is incomplete, right? Instead of having to consume other Worlds, why don’t we try to fix the problem?” The Seventh Prince asked thoughtfully.
This was a question that bugged him from the moment the Emperor started telling him about the true reason for the war. The Emperor said their World was the one forcing them to engage in these wars due to its origin essence being incomplete. Since this was the case, why have they not searched for ways to fix this problem? As long as they could solve this problem, they would not have to bother themselves with the thoughts of having to invade other Worlds and engage in wars.
The Emperor scoffed, “You think we haven’t tried?”
“Even the last God Plane expert tried to see if she could fix this problem before leaving. Sadly, she was unable to in the short time and was forced to leave.” The Emperor had a tinge of frustration on his expression. They might seem like battle hungry people, but they too did not want to engage in these wars if there was no reason for it. Over the years, they had lost a lot of close relatives to these wars. From what he knew, the Emperor during the time of the last war actually lost his life. This showed just how brutal the war turned out to be. He was not afraid of dying, but if there was a possibility that they could fix their World without fighting, they would rather take that route. Unfortunately, they had no other choice.
“Leave? Leave to where?” This was the only thing Grey’s ears picked up as the Seventh Prince. He could not find anything about God Plane experts in the Human World, but the Gnome World was different. They have had multiple God Plane experts in recent history, with the last being only some century or so ago.
“Don’t worry, you will know when the time is right. For now you’re still too weak.” The Emperor refrained from speaking further. Looking at his son he continued solemnly, “You will be crowned in a month’s time, prepare yourself.”
Putting on a respectful expression, the Seventh Prince bowed, “Thank you, Father.”
“There is no reason to thank me, you earned it yourself.” The Emperor waved his hand, after some thought, he pointed at one of the rooms in the underground chamber, “You can access that room for now.”
The Seventh Prince asked with enthusiasm, “What is there?”
“You’ll know the people you can work with and those to keep far away. Don’t be fooled by the top Families’ friendliness, they will not hesitate to snatch the position of the Royal Family from us if they have the chance. You will know the ones completely loyal to us there.”
The Seventh Prince bowed and walked in the direction of the third room by the right under the watch of the Emperor.
