Chapter 1988: A Ninth Element?
The silver robbed Gnome looked at Klaus’s expression, seeing the shock in his face, he knew the latter had no idea his companion was capable of doing what they were seeing. He wanted to ask him if he knew how Hugh was capable of achieving this, but since he could tell he knew nothing, he did not bother and instead took a look at the tree that was slowly falling apart. After the Fifth stage Gnome managed to escape, the tree swayed before falling apart bit by bit. In a matter of seconds, it had already disappeared, blowing off into the wind like it was never there. An almost hundred meters tree appeared and disappeared like an illusion. If not for the fact that the Gnome sensed the strong essence from the tree when it was attacking the Fifth stage Sovereign Gnome, he would have thought it was a trick.
‘How is he able to do this?’ This was what the Gnome wanted to find out the most. Taking a glance at Klaus, he slowly retreated. He was no longer in the mood to fight. With such an oddity present, the best case would be to capture him naturally. Seeing that the Peak Sovereign was present, and he had already seen both Alice and Reynolds’s strength, he knew capturing Hugh was impossible. Since that was the case, he wanted to retreat and have the time to study this seemingly new development.
Klaus, sensing the retreating Gnome snorted coldly, “Where do you think you’re going?”
Saying this, he stretched his hand towards the silver robbed Gnome. A large ice palm appeared, trying to grab onto the Gnome.
The Gnome, annoyed by Klaus’s attack, shot a little ball made from the darkness element at the ice palm in an attempt to destroy it. When the ball of darkness came in contact with the ice palm, it did not explode, rather, it melted into the palm and quickly started corroding it. In a matter of milliseconds, a large hole appeared in the middle of the palm. Before long, the ice palm shattered into the pieces.
“Boy, I’m no longer in the mood to play with you. I’ll advise you not to pester me.” The Gnome said before wanting to turn to leave.
Klaus was never going to let the Gnome leave, even though he was still reeling from the shock of seeing Hugh use what could be deemed a new element, he still needed to vent his frustration of the past few days. This was the only chance he could get in the upcoming days. Once they return to Red City, it is unknown when they would be sent to a battlefield again. Not giving the Gnome any chance, he rushed forward and attacked.
Seeing Klaus rush towards him fearlessly, the Gnome was irritated. Only Humans were this dumb. Most Gnomes in the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane would never dare to fight with people two stages ahead of them. As for Humans, they always think they are above everyone. Wasting no time, he waved his hand and an Eighth stage Sovereign Puppet appeared, blocking Klaus’s path.
The Gnome stopped and glared coldly at Klaus before saying, “Since you’re so impatient to die, I don’t mind sending you off.”
Finally getting the Gnome to stop and fight, Klaus roared and used his ice abilities to its fullest.
Klaus and the silver robbed Gnome’s battle reignited the other battles. Everyone paused due to the shock of seeing Hugh use a foreign elemental attack. After their initial shock, they were not sure of what to do next. Klaus’s roar brought them back to their senses, well, the Humans per se. As for the Gnomes, just like the silver robbed Gnome, they wanted to retreat from this place and study the strange attacking technique of this strange ordinary-looking Human. Seeing that they were being attacked by the other Humans, they had no choice but to brace themselves and fight back.
Alice’s and Reynolds’s opponent felt like crying. They have both seen their opponents, and wished they picked Klaus instead, seeing Klaus’s powerful attacks, they felt their mouths go dry. At the moment, the Human who looked the least impressive was amazingly the Peak Sovereign. Of all the Human Sovereigns present, he was the only one that could still be viewed as normal. Even Hugh, the supposed weakest among them, used a strange ability that they would rather not want to face. At least battling with Reynolds and Alice, they were still familiar with the lightning, fire, and even ice elemental abilities. A Human using what seemed to be plants to attack was new to them, and they would rather not face him even though they believed they could deal with him.
The Commander was also doing his best against his opponent. He took a glance at Klaus’s battle when Klaus started attacking, and when he sensed the shocking power behind each of his attacks, he knew he had nothing to worry about. Even if he took an hour before he dealt with his opponent, it was simply impossible for Klaus’s element to kill him even with the aid of his Puppet. This gave him enough chance to take his time against his opponent and not use any moves that would be too straining on him.
Boom! Bam! Bang!
The battlefield in the sky was instantly thrown into chaos as attacks of multiple elements flew left and right. The most conspicuous one still being the occasional sprouting of trees and vines. There were even occasional dazzling flowers that gave off shocking auras.
On the battlefield below, even though the Gnomes had the numerical advantage, the Humans showed no fear, charging into them and their Puppets with apparently no regard for their lives. Of course, they did not have a death wish and knew exactly what they were doing. As long as things went according to plan, the Gnomes would surely suffer after this battle. Those who have been battling with the Gnomes all this while in this camp wanted nothing more than this, so they charged forward with more vigor.
