Chapter 1986: Shocking Scene

Chapter 1986: Shocking Scene

Klaus and the others did not rush forward to join the battle, the fight between those below the Sovereign Plane has nothing to do with them, at least until they have dealt with their opponents.

“Can you handle the one in the Fifth stage for some time?” Klaus turned to ask Hugh. He was certain his friends had no problems with dealing with the other Sovereigns. He has never seen Hugh fight before, never has he ever seen him in battle. This is the reason he wanted to be sure Hugh had no problems with holding back the Fifth stage Sovereign.

“Don’t worry about me, even if I can’t beat him, he can’t do anything to me.” Hugh replied confidently.

Klaus was a little skeptical, but he soon tossed it to the back of his mind. For an Elementalist to grow to the Sovereign Plane, it was impossible that he had never engaged in any form of combat. No matter how much of a weirdo Hugh was, he must have definitely got into a fight over the years.

Shifting his gaze to the silver robbed Gnome, a cold glint flashed across his eyes. Since the battle at True Dawn, he has not had the chance to crossed paths with Gnomes on the battlefield again. Grey leaving without even taking him along infuriated him even now. For the past few days, he has been reigning in his anger, now that he was finally going to have the chance to fight, his anger which was already at the breaking limit exploded.

A chilling murderous intent seepped out of his body, shocking the Commander who was about to rush after an opponent.

The Commander could not help but shiver, not just from the killing intent, but from the cold aura surrounding Klaus. He was the closest to Klaus and felt the full force of it.

‘What have the Gnomes done to him to make him hate them this much?’ The Commander thought to himself. Just like every Human in their world, he hated the Gnomes as well, but only some people have shown such murderous intent to the Gnomes, and each of them have suffered in the hands of the Gnomes prior to whenever they clash. Feeling Klaus’s killing intent, he was certain the former must have suffered a loss at the hands of the Gnomes.

Alice and Reynolds expected Klaus to react like this, after all, his Father was still not heard from. At the time Grey left, he mentioned seeing Brown but there were no signs of the Principal. This was also the reason Klaus tried to dissuade Grey from going. Had the Principal’s whereabouts been known, Klaus would have no problems with Grey going. However, according to Grey, there was no sign of the Principal. The Gnome World was just even bigger than their World. Searching for one Human there is no different from looking for a needle in a haystack, an impossible quest. Hence he saw no use in Grey attempting such a dangerous mission, especially when his Uncle, Chris, was okay with Brown being taken captive.

“I’ll take the one in black robes, you guys keep the rest busy. Once I’m done with him, I’ll come help you as soon as I can.” The Commander left immediately after leaving this statement.

Reynolds and Alice exchanged glances before one of them charged at the Seventh stage Sovereign, while the other went towards the Sixth stage Sovereign. The Ninth stage Sovereign was unanimously left for Klaus. They felt a Seventh stage Sovereign, even though being in the same cultivation stage as Klaus, and also having the help of his Puppet would not be enough for Klaus to vent his anger. Only someone as strong as the Ninth stage Sovereign could at least handle it.

Reynolds picked the Sixth stage Sovereign, not because he was not confident in dealing with the Seventh stage Sovereign, rather, he was worried about Hugh’s chances against his opponent. With Grey absent, Reynolds was the fastest among the group. Klaus might be strong, but he was the slowest given he was a Water Elementalist. Alice had the lightning element and should be on par with Reynolds in terms of speed. However, that was not the case. The instant Reynolds merges with his Elemental Warrior, he comfortably edges Alice in terms of speed. Having the weaker opponent will give him the chance to spare some energy in monitoring the battle between Hugh and the Fifth stage Sovereign.

Hugh had no idea the group was looking out for him, if he did, he would be grateful for their care. He did not immediately engage his opponent, only facing off against him.

Reynolds, on the other hand, immediately started throwing attack after another. His opponent was a Sixth stage Sovereign that should not be difficult to deal with, unfortunately, without Grey around, his opponent could use his Puppet confidently, making things difficult for him. What was even more annoying was the fact that the Gnome’s Puppet was a Dual Elementalist, having both the wind and earth element. When the Gnome saw Reynolds was a Lightning Elementalist, he focused on only using the earth element of his Puppet. His Puppet, like him, was a Sixth stage Sovereign. Adding the fact that he had the darkness element, he had no issues with dealing with Reynolds’s early flurries of attacks.

Looking at the smirking Gnome, Reynolds snorted, “Do you think you’re the only one with a helper?”

After saying this, his Elemental Warrior appeared. Being in the Seventh stage, he has spent a lot of resources on his Elemental Warrior to grow it stronger. At the moment, it was just as strong as Reynolds.

The Pupils of the Gnome dilated when he realized he had to face off against two Seventh stage Sovereigns. Reynolds alone was enough to cause him a massive headache, having to deal with an Elemental Warrior known for its magnificent fighting prowess, he felt his heart sink.

On Alice’s end, unlike Reynolds, she did not start a flurry of attacks without her Seelie. The moment she faced off against the latter, her Seelie was present, the duo attacked the Seventh stage Sovereign Gnome in perfect sync. The Gnome and his Sixth stage Sovereign Puppet found it hard to deal with Alice and her Seelie’s attacks. Not all Gnomes have Puppets on the same cultivation stage as themselves, he was one of them. His Puppet was only in the Sixth stage, whereas Alice and her Seelie gave off the same aura, that of a Seventh stage Sovereign.

Realizing he was in danger, the Gnome gritted his teeth and focused solely on defending, hoping one of the Commanders would finish their opponents quickly and come help him. He was basically a General in this Army, yet he was forced into such a sad situation in such a short time.

If he had known this Young Lady was this fierce, he would have rushed over to the Young Man. When he turned to look in that direction, his eyes almost popped out of his head. The reason for this was because he could see the Young Man he was wishing he fought actually had an Elemental Warrior.

‘Where did this bunch of experts come from?’ This was the only question in his head.

The silver robbed Gnome stood across Klaus, shocked by the latter’s killing intent.

Raising a brow, he said, “Boy, I’m impressed you have the guts to face me.”

Getting no response from Klaus, he chuckled, “Looks like we’ve gotten someone close to you.” Passing to see Klaus’s reaction, he noticed the slight change in his face and knew his words must have struck a cord, striking while its hot, he continued, “Haha, seems I’m right.”

Not waiting for Klaus to respond, he offered a deal, “Since I’m in a generous mood, why don’t we do this? You’ll become my slave, and I will bring back whoever you lost? As long as the person is still in our hands, I can get him for you, even if said person is dead.”

Laughing, he said, “Don’t think it’s wrong. I know you Humans place a lot of value in sentiments. I can bring the person back and make them continue living with you like normal.”

“Of course, they will not be able to speak much, but it’s better than not seeing them at all, right?”

The more the Gnome spoke, the colder Klaus’s aura became. It got to the point where the air around him started to visibly freeze.

Klaus could be said to be a once in a generation ice user. If Humans were like Magical Beasts who were separated between the water element and ice element, he would have been seen as a peerless Ice Elementalist. Even with the water element, he was still quite amazing.

Klaus, overwhelmed by anger, was about to attack when he noticed something absolutely unheard of. He turned his gaze to the direction of Hugh, only to see him doing something that should be absolutely impossible to achieve.
