Chapter 1940: Laying In Wait
Chapter 1940: Laying In Wait
The Bunny Leader continued watching as the area around Grey started showing signs of space fissures, scaring the Bunny Leader. He could tell this was from whatever Grey was comprehending, however, these fissures appearing now, especially so close to the liquid, was too dangerous. Panicking, he tried to see if he could contain the liquid. Rummaging through his personal space storage, he grumbled when he did not find anything good. Looking in Grey’s direction, he vanished. He knew Grey had accumulated a large variety of items over the years and was sure he should have something that could be used to contain the liquid.
A few seconds after disappearing, he reappeared with a relieved expression. In his small paws were two odd looking discs that gave off a chilling air. The discs were not ordinary discs, and there was a hidden small space within it. This was an item Grey got from one of the secret worlds they visited, and they never thought it would be of use under such circumstances. Carefully, he made some hand seals and slowly transported the liquid into the two discs. It took a few minutes before he completed the task, as the time, the space fissures around Grey were getting larger and larger. Luckily he acted quickly, if not they would have been in some trouble.
The Bunny Leader moved to the side and observed Grey’s actions, prepared to make a move as soon as he senses anything out of the ordinary.
The fissures around Grey stopped growing bigger, a good sign for the Bunny Leader. Thirty more minutes went by before Grey opened his eyes, his eyes were momentarily pitch black with small white dots and looking into them, it was almost as if one was staring at the vast starry sky. Even though it was only for a second, the Bunny Leader felt like his soul was sucked out of his body and thrust into the vast space with no means to escape. Panting heavily, he hurriedly closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, he noticed Grey had spaced out, but his eyes had returned to normal.
He did not disturb him, feeling Grey was probably pondering the new ability he just gained. The fact that Grey could learn a technique from just watching something amazed the Bunny Leader.
Grey’s eyes soon regained some clarity, musing to himself, he muttered, “If I can integrate this into my space domain, it would be lethal.”
At the moment, his space domain can only confuse people, making something seem closer or further depending on what Grey willed. If he could add this form of sending things bit by bit into the void, he would be able to take any of his opponents caught in his domain by surprise, slowly killing them.
Grey also knew the more he studied and understood this new ability, the more useful it would become.
“Uh? Where’s the liquid?” He looked around, confused he could not find the liquid anymore. Before he fell into a trance, he knew the liquid was eating away what he thought he could use to contain it, now he could not find either of them, causing him to panic. He gave the Bunny Leader a questioning look, only to see him staring at him oddly.
“Did something happen to it?” He asked again when the Bunny Leader did not answer the first time.
The Bunny Leader shook his head to compose himself before bringing out the discs.
“Oh, this thing can store it?” Grey did not even remember he had something like this and if he had not fallen into a trance, he would have not thought of using the discs.
“Yes, long enough for you to use it for what you have in mind.” The Bunny Leader replied.
“Oh alright, we should leave. Or is there anything else here?” When Grey entered the cave, other than this liquid, he did not sense anything else. Since they had obtained the liquid, there was no need to stay here any longer.
The Bunny Leader did not have any problems with this, on the way up, Grey inquired about what could have caused this explosion. The Bunny Leader was not clear about it, the only thing he was certain of was that it was caused by something relating to the space element, hence the reason the liquid was found here. He even felt the liquid might be the cause of it.
Grey knew there were a lot of strange things in the world and did not want to bother himself with just this place. Before gaining this new ability, even though the Bunny Leader spoke about this liquid being useful, he did not really feel the journey was worth it since as long as he could produce a five-colored fusion orb and store it, he would be able to achieve a greater result. According to what the Bunny Leader told him, this would help increase the effect of the explosions. The reason the Bunny Leader said that was because he had only seen Grey experimenting with mostly two-colored fusion orbs.
Aboveground.
Klaus and the others were starting to get worried about Grey, they could not sense anything in there and even with Void telling them he could sense that Grey was alive, they were starting to get impatient and were preparing to dive into the pit when Grey and the Bunny Leader’s figures came out from the dark pit.
The trio heaved a sigh of relief, Klaus did not want to go down, but if Grey did not come out within the next five minutes, he would have rushed in without a second thought.
Seeing Grey without his usual bland expression, they could sense that he gained something from that place.
“Looks like you got your hands on something good.” Klaus commented.
“It’s not that useful, but it helped me learn a new technique.” Grey did not have any reasons to hide his gain from his friends, telling them of his new technique.
“Wait, like send things to the void bit by bit like the way the darkness element corrodes something?” Alice asked, a little confused.
They all knew how corrosive the darkness element was as they had all faced it countless times, this however, was the first time they were hearing about the space element being able to achieve something identical.
They were curious about the liquid, and Grey told the Bunny Leader to bring it out and show them. Seeing the liquid, they were both fascinated and stumped, unsure of how watching this thing Grey was able to learn a new technique. They could also sense how dangerous this liquid was and did not want to get too close, even when they tried to use their Spiritual Sense to investigate it, they noticed it was as if they were sending their Spiritual Sense into an unending space. Not just that, the toll it took on their Spiritual Energy was also highly consuming.
Keeping the item, they left the region. They knew the explosion would definitely draw the attention of a lot of people, and they wanted to hide by the side and see if any Gnomes would come to investigate.
It took only six hours and Grey sensed the presence of Gnomes approaching this area. He notified his friends and they prepared to ambush the Gnomes.
The Gnomes did not rush to the place of the explosion, after getting around three kilometers away from the place of the explosion, they paused and sent out some scouts.
The group killed the scouts before rushing to where the Gnomes were waiting for their scouts reports. The Gnomes only had a single Fifth stage Sovereign, a few in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane while the rest were Venerables. In the Azure Continent, a line up like this would be able to wipe out most of the Cities, unfortunately not with Grey and the other Humans coming from the Aurora Continent to help.
It took only a few minutes for them to kill off the entire Gnome group that had about fifty or so Gnomes. The Gnomes had some prisoners who were captured not too long ago. Freeing them, they found a safe place for them to hide while they continued to lay in wait for more Gnomes to come over to investigate. Grey was certain that any Gnome within a fifty kilometers radius should sense it, so all they had to do was wait.
The group stayed there for five days, killing a total of around two hundred Gnomes, rescuing more than a thousand prisoners. The Gnomes were bent on sending some of the Humans to their world and use them as slaves, so the Azure Continent’s locals who were not strong enough were not even considered worthy enough to be used as Puppets.
After five days, Grey did not think any more Gnomes would come, and even if they did, he had to take the prisoners they have rescued to a better location.
