Chapter 1881: To The Toad Clan’s Territory
Chapter 1881: To The Toad Clan’s Territory
Inner Court, Dragon’s Mountain.
Sir Astarot already knew Grey was special, but it did not expect him to be able to hide from their senses even if it was for a brief moment. The other Dragons were taken by shock when Grey showed them how he was able to escape.
“The space element.” The Green Dragon gasped when he saw Grey employ the space element.
Knowing he has proved his point, Grey did not do anything further, only staring at them, waiting for their next words.
Sir Astarot chuckled when it saw this and said, “Since you were the one who discovered them, it’s only fitting for you to lead the party there.”
It was Grey’s turn to be taken by surprise by the Dragon’s words. He originally thought after letting them know of the location of the Necromancers, he would leave to meet up with his Family, but he did not expect Sir Astarot would bring up such a request.
“Can I refuse this?” He asked with a bit of uncertainty. It was one thing entering their secret world, but leading a party to the Toad Clan territory to fight the Necromancers was another. If things went wrong, he did not know how he would be able to explain it to Sir Astarot and these Dragons.
“Don’t be in a haste to reject. I understand your worry, but it really isn’t that serious. You were able to find them the first time without being caught, all you need to do is lead them there unnoticed.” Sir Astarot explained.
Grey did not immediately agree to the request, thinking if it was safe to lead the Dragon party there. Sighing, he nodded. He was already here, and if the Necromancers were to achieve whatever brought them here, he would be a little disappointed, so if this was the best way to make sure they do not cause any more harm, then it was not a big issue. It is not like he could not wait a day or two before heading home to his mother and father.
Grey agreeing was within Sir Astarot’s expectations, if it did not believe in Grey’s character, it would have never showed him Jakob’s legacy in the first place. It did not ask Grey about it since the latter came, and neither did Grey speak about it.
Sir Astarot called seven Dragons into the cave; of the seven, five of them were at the Peak of the Eighth Rank, which was equivalent to a Peak Sovereign. Grey did not have any complaints about the force deployed by the dragons. According to the intel he got from the Bunny Leader’s scouts, there were a total of four Peak Sovereigns among the enemy ranks. In such a situation, there was no need sending out weaker Dragons since they would only get in the way. The other two were equal to human Ninth stage Sovereigns, making Grey the weakest in the party.
Sorting out the issue of the force that would be sent out, Grey could not help but ask the important question, “What about the possibility of the Toad Clan’s betrayal?”
The activities of the Necromancers were too bold for him to feel the Toad Clan had nothing to do with their stay in the Inner Court. Actively searching for something while hiding proved that they were certain they would not be discovered. It is impossible to believe the Toad Clan’s upper echelon have not noticed their presence yet, given how easy it was for Sir Astarot to not only find them, but also find out their objective, which was searching for Grey.
The seven Dragons that were picked to go with Grey looked at Sir Astarot and the others with worried expressions, they might be the top Force in the Inner Court, but they dared not slight the strength of any Clan, especially the Toad Clan. The uniqueness of Toads made them very difficult to deal with, and they also had multiple Peak Sovereigns, so if the Toads truly joined the Necromancers, then this was no different than them throwing their lives away. Clearly, they were not the only ones worrying over this, Grey was also quite concerned about the Toads.
“Don’t worry about them. I have already called the Snake Clan Leader and the Phoenixes Clan Leader.” Sir Astarot reassured calmly.
When the party heard Sir Astarot mention the Snake Clan and the Phoenix Clan, they could not help but praise his shrewdness, especially the Dragons who knew about the natural restraint the Snake Clan and Phoenix Clan have over the Toad Clan. One of the Toad Clan’s scariest enemies is none other than the Snake Clan, and the whole Inner Court is well aware of this and the lifelong enmity between both Clans, well, it is more of the Toad Clan wishing for the extinction of the Snake Clan.
“When do we set out?” Grey asked. Now that his only worry has been sorted out, he did not want to waste any more time here, opting to leave as soon as possible.
“Sunset.”
Grey had no issues with the set, bowing to the Dragons, Grey left the cave and went back to the residence he was given here. He had to get himself ready for the upcoming fight, even though he did not think he would have to do much, he did not want to take any chances. Void and the Bunny Leader were almost fully healed from their last injuries, which was a big plus for him. With the duo around, he was more confident in being able to at least keep his life while he was there.
Time flew by and it was soon sunset. Grey, who was resting in his residence, was summoned by Sir Astarot when it was time for them to set out. According to the plan, Grey would lead the Dragons to the Necromancer’s hideout at the same time Sir Astarot and the other Magical Beasts Clan Leaders meet up with the Toad Clan Leader.
