Chapter 397: Chapter 210: Fiery Red Long Hair Flutters in the Wind (Part 2)
A smile appeared on Bain’s face as well, and his eyes seemed to glisten.
"By the way, Lin Mo, how have you been? What have you been up to?"
Evan asked curiously from the side.
He looked at Lin Mo, his eyes full of admiration and curiosity.
They hadn’t been apart for long, yet Lin Mo had already become such a powerful Adventurer, even mastering the power of Magic!
He desperately wanted to know what had happened to Lin Mo. It had to be a story of legendary proportions, like an epic saga sung by a Minstrel.
"Me..."
Lin Mo lowered his gaze, recalling his recent experiences. "Well... I guess you could say I’ve been very lucky..."
He gave them a simple summary of his experiences, naturally leaving out many of the unnecessary details.
Meanwhile, Landon and Feney came to his side, listening with great interest to his tale. Whenever he mentioned them, they would step forward and puff out their chests, indicating they were the ones he was talking about.
...
Lin Mo’s story wasn’t long. This was hardly the time for idle chatter, so he only shared the key points.
However, he didn’t mince words when it came to important matters—such as the fact that the entire Goblin disaster, including the earlier disappearances of the young women, was all connected to Lawrence.
"I thought we knew enough about Lawrence’s crimes, but I never imagined we’d underestimated them so severely... Those animals!"
Even Bain, who was normally good-tempered, was gritting his teeth in fury.
"So now, Lady Beixila, the Lord of Silver Stream City, has dispatched troops to the Lania City area. She intends to help the people of Lania City overcome this crisis and, at the same time, arrest the ultimate culprits—the Lawrence Clan—and put them on trial!"
"Good!"
Evan pumped his fist in satisfaction. "I’ve been sick of those damn nobles for a long time... Of course, I mean the bastard ones, like Lawrence."
"Uncle Bain, what about you all? What do you plan to do next?"
Lin Mo’s gaze swept past the few people before him, landing on the larger group of Adventurers further back.
Clearly, the question was meant for them as well.
"What’s next..."
’Yes, what is next?’
For a moment, Bain was at a loss. They had come here to protect the villagers, and now, although their losses had been devastating, the crisis in the village was, for the time being, over.
’So, what now? Do we stay in the village and wait for this disaster to pass, or...’
"Why not come with us and slaughter every last one of these damn Goblins? Then we can drag those high-and-mighty, self-important Lords off their thrones and make them pay for what they’ve done!"
As a young man, Evan’s eyes lit up at Lin Mo’s words, and he felt his blood surge with excitement.
"Uncle Bain..."
He was clearly interested, but the final decision was up to Bain.
Bain looked at Lin Mo and suddenly smiled. "Since you’re the one inviting, how could I possibly refuse?"
With that, he turned to face the Adventurers behind him. "Everyone, you came here to help these villagers defend against the Goblin invasion. I believe that means you are all Adventurers with ideals and principles—you are all rare and true warriors!"
"We all know exactly what kind of person the Lord of Roland Town is. And you’ve all just heard the crimes he has committed. Before, we didn’t have the strength to resist. We could only swallow our anger and endure in silence. But now, an opportunity has arrived! The people of Lania City, including ourselves, have suffered too much oppression and abuse from Lawrence. I believe it’s time we changed all of this with our own hands!"
As he spoke these words from the heart, it was as if the worldly caution and diplomacy he had acquired over the years were all cast aside in an instant.
He felt as if he had returned to the age when all it took was a Sword in hand to dream of punishing the wicked and defending the innocent, rediscovering the passion of his youth.
A long silence followed.
Finally, an unknown Adventurer was the first to cry out, "Kill!"
In an instant, a cacophony of shouts and curses erupted.
"Fucking hell, I’ve been sick of that bullshit Lawrence for a long time!"
"Yeah, before I became an Adventurer, I took a lot of crap from those nobles’ lackeys..."
"Even after we became Adventurers, we still have to put up with their crap, don’t we?"
"Yeah, so it’s time for payback!"
"Let’s go! Let’s screw them over together!"
"We have to make them pay the price for years of getting away with everything!"
In an instant, the crowd was in an uproar, and even the villagers began to cry out.
Many of them had lost family in this Goblin disaster...
And as the Lord of this territory, Lawrence had not only failed to take any action, but he was also the very reason the disaster had occurred in the first place.
How could anyone not be furious?
"I’m going too!"
A young man from the village, holding a hoe, cried out in righteous indignation, "My sister went missing for no reason back then! It turns out she wasn’t taken by Goblins—she was kidnapped by those bastard nobles and delivered to them!"
His nails dug into his palms, his face a mask of hatred.
"I want those nobles to pay with their lives!"
"And my sister..."
"My daughter too!"
"The Goblins have already destroyed our village! Let’s charge! We’ll fight those damn Goblins and nobles to the death!"
