Achieving Nothing, I Can Only Be the Pirate King
Chapter 1244: Demon God
Chapter 1244: Chapter 724: Demon God
“Then let’s have a fight!”
Coby wasn’t backing down either, “Peace is right in front of us, I’ll use my fists to awaken you!”
“I’m afraid this is something you won’t easily accomplish, young Navy lad.”
Just then, a faint voice sounded from beside them, causing everyone to turn and look.
Smoker’s pupils constricted as he instinctively gripped the jitte in his hand, only to relax his grip shortly after.
Tap, tap, tap…
The rhythmic sound of a wooden staff striking the ground slowly echoed, making everyone’s eyes widen in surprise.
The newcomer was an old blind man, holding a wooden staff as he felt his way closer, inch by inch, to the crowd.
“Fujitora, Admiral?!” a Navy member exclaimed.
“No longer, I’m now the Minister of Defense for O’hara. Good afternoon, esteemed Navy.” Issho spoke leisurely.
“Hey, what’s going on, why are you here?”
Smoker said in a deep voice, “Aren’t you Disaster busy with trade?”
He put extra emphasis on the word ‘trade’.
The state of the world was clear: the World Government was declining, the southeast two seas were dominated by the Revolutionary Army and Pirates, while the northwest seas were the domain of the Disaster Pirates, with all the Kingdoms siding over there.
But now the Revolutionary Army had marched right up to them, leaving the Navy unable to focus on the entity they should truly be concerned with.
No one expected him to come personally!
At this crucial moment, coming here…
“This matter is outside my jurisdiction, unclear. I’ve come here for only one thing…”
Issho lifted his wooden staff, holding the hilt end with one hand, his blind eyes turning white, “Since it has come to the point of choosing, you may choose us. As a former Admiral, I give my guarantee, O’hara will not disappoint you.”
“Surrendering us? You came alone?”
Smoker was very rational at this point, able to accurately analyze the pros and cons.
He didn’t dislike the Straw Hat Pirates and believed that the Heavenly Celestial Dragon were wrong, but he also didn’t like the chaos caused by the Straw Hat Pirates. Without other options, he might have joined the new world government, led by the Revolutionary Army, poised for victory.
But at this moment, it seems there’s another choice.
Sage is a Pirate too?
Who in the vast ocean now thinks Sage is merely a Pirate?
What he has created is more like a world government than the actual World Government.
The World Government doesn’t collect taxes, only asks affiliated nations for money; O’hara doesn’t do this, only uses trade means to seek profit from other nations.
Their own territory is large, with hardly any other nations in the New World, and they collect very low taxes.
And the tax money they do collect is reportedly invested back into the populace, repairing new buildings and enhancing new facilities.
A world government without the Heavenly Celestial Dragon, not collecting heavenly gold…
For the Navy, rather than choosing the Revolutionary Army, who they’ve fought against, O’hara amidst the Disaster offers a very good choice as well.
Previously, with Fleet Marshal Akainu suppressing them, nobody chose. But now that Fleet Marshal Akainu has been defeated, they, the Navy, are about to become rootless floats.
Some have chosen the Revolutionary Army and Straw Hat Pirates, so naturally, some will choose O’hara…
The true veteran Navy members understand that order is more important than anything, and now there is a well-ordered place for them to act upon.
Smoker bit his cigar, puffing out smoke, “We are so many in the Navy, do we not even have the qualification for Sage to notice?”
“No…”
Issho shook his head, gesturing upwards, “He came personally, this chaos should come to an end. I am not here to persuade a part but the entire Navy. Of course, you are not bothered to wait, you may choose once the final victor is decided.”
Rumble!
As the words fell, the sky, which had been clouded over, suddenly flashed with lightning and thunder, a storm brewing, pouring heavy rain.
Mary Geoise.
Among the ruins, half shattered, Luffy lay sprawled on the ground, grinning foolishly.
“Luffy!”
The Straw Hat Pirates’ crew found Luffy lying among the rubble, excitedly rushing towards him.
“Luffy!”
Members of the Revolutionary Army, including second-in-command Sabo, also followed suit.
They won, this world was about to be liberated!
In the air, only slightly injured, Kizaru stood firm, with his sunglasses reflecting a peculiar light. He observed Dorag, who was always facing him, lowering the beam of light gathered at his fingertips.
“Have you recognized reality?” Dorag said in a solemn voice, “Borsalino, I know your thoughts, the World Government has been defeated, why not join us to build this sea properly?”
Kizaru was a subject worth pursuing or rather, they had actually had contact long ago.
Because of Kuma, they knew each other and their ideologies, not to mention that Dorag was once part of the Navy himself.
“Oh~ How scary, inviting this old man after winning?”
Kizaru chuckled, “Dorag, I told you long ago, your approach may not work, you must accommodate the sea’s actual situation. Look, you united all the forces you could, yet human nature is diverse. Uniting for one goal leads to chaos.”
“The southeast seas are a perfect example.”
Facing Kizaru’s words, Dorag shook his head, “Once we integrate the entire world, naturally those chaos elements will be eliminated. However, Pirates also have the right to pursue freedom, and we need to treat this matter cautiously. Therefore, we need more allies, Borsalino, come help me.”
