Chapter 1140 1140: Baptizing The World.
Shi Lang waited patiently for Raksha to finish dealing with the situation inside the pit. He had complete trust in what the sword spirit was capable of when she unleashed her best attacks. After five minutes, when Raksha emerged from the pit and said, “Umm, sorry, it took a little longer than what I had expected it to be. That guy had quite a few tricks up his sleeve.”
Shi Lang nodded and asked, “That is not something to worry about. Have you finished digesting the blood essence?”
Raksha nodded and replied, “Yes, it is settled, where are we going next?”
Shi Lang replied calmly, “There is a guy in the west, he has been trying to achieve the peak of his path by the way of practice and so he has been fighting anything and everyone that comes in his sight. Till date, he has slaughtered seven villages, and killed three people from the security council who went to confront him. Since he loves using his fists, I want to show him what true fists look like.”
Raksha nodded and then the two people vanished from the spot. There speed took them to the destination they were headed to in just a few minutes. Raksha looked at the scenery of carnage before her and her eyes narrowed. They had appeared above a village which was filled with corpses, and blood splatters. Young and old, kids and adults even animals were not spared from the cruel death and none of them had a complete body, some were missing their heads and some had holes in their chests.
Shi Lang walked through the mess with a cold face, the spirits of these people have already vanished as they must have entered the cycle of rebirth, or they might have been destroyed by the fists of the evil cultivator who passed by here.
Raksha asked, “Can you not use your time skills to bring these people back to life?”
Shi Lang shook his head and replied, “No, I cannot, even without the eyes of the Realm Lord, I have to be careful when invoking the laws of time. There are consequences of using them, and some of these consequences are too much to handle.”
Raksha sighed and said, “It feels like you have changed a lot Lang, the way your eyes perceive the world now is not something that the normal people can do. I guess this is the price you have to pay to acquire greater strength.”
Shi lang didn’t respond, because he has never been selfless, for all the things that he have done, they held great meaning to him. Be it resurrecting Tian Long, breaking the seal on the caged world, the resurrection of Amelia, or the countless battles that he has faced all his life, they were all done because they originated from his own emotions and desires. He was the most selfish and cruel person that he knew, and thus he didn’t feel like he had changed.
After they reached the center of the village, they spotted a middle-aged man sitting under a withering banyan tree. His body was covered with stains of blood, and he wore a tattered golden robe. The man had some stains of blood on his face as well, but when he sat under the tree with his eyes closed, he gave off the impression of a warring buddha who was taking the rest.
Shi Lang said, “It seems that after the sacrifice of countless people, you have finally seen the surface of the great dao, no?”
The middle-aged man opened his eyes and the void rippled, it was clear that he had not managed to control his true aura. After a few moments of trying to control his blood lust, the man said, “So, the paragon of the Asura Hall has come himself. Is it because I am that strong or is it because you compassionately wanted to avenge some of your fodder I disposed of?”
Shi Lang took a deep breath and said, “Nor are you strong, and neither are you worthy of my wrath. I have only come because I was getting too bored at home and my bones needed some warm up. So, are we doing this or do you want to stay there and act like you rule the world?”
His question enraged the middle-aged man and he dashed over wit a quick step, “Die.”
The man conjured a fist phantom that moved through the void, twisting it as if it was some fragile paper, but Shi Lang stood their on his feet like he was watching some disappointing disciple of his, and he clenched his own fist before he said, “Tyrant Lighting Fist.”
His punch was shot, it looked like a normal punch and didn’t cause any shift in the environment but Shi Lang said, “Feast your eyes because this is what you have been trying to achieve all this while.”
The two fist intents collided and the next moment, the Shi Lang’s fist shot through the intent of the middle-aged man as if it didn’t even exist. Before the middle-aged man could react, he sensed warmth gushing out of his chest, and looking down he found a gaping hole in his torso and even his heart was missing.
In just one punch, Shi Lang had opened this hole and destroyed his heart. That was not all, the lingering lightning in the punch was preventing him from regenerating, and even destroying his visceral organs at a fast pace. Before he knew the fist intent resonating through his body shattered his soul sea, causing his soul to face immense pain and that was not all, his soul was forced to scatter just like the souls of his victims, and while he wanted to beg for mercy, he could not find the energy to do so.
In his final moments, Shi Lang put him through depraving agony, by casting the shura realm illusion on him. All the victims that fell under the fists of the middle-aged man, they broke through his fists, his pride and finally, his life seeped out of him.
Shi Lang was very cruel in his approach, he made sure that the man would suffer the pain thousand times bigger than his victims. After the death of the evil cultivator, Shi Lang waved his hands and dispersed his body into the ground, as if nourishing the surrounding flora.
The blood was given to Raksha to refine and strengthen herself. The sword spirit knew why Shi Lang was using this method to strengthen it, because he was preparing for something big that might unfold at their doorsteps. He wanted to be ready so that he could handle all those things, and even if he failed to handle them, then he wished to die fighting.
…
One after the other, evil cultivators kept falling under Shi Lang’s blade or fists, and finally after the entire day, he hunted down all the evil cultivators and then spread the news. All the people who were thinking about exploring the quick path were pacified, Shi Lang had simply laid down the gauntlet, if you tried to breach the morale of the human race, then you will pick the gauntlet and prepare yourself for death, and that was the good option.
Shi Lang had caught one of the evil cultivators and brought him back to the Asura Hall, so that the person could be tortured and the rest of the world could heed the warning. The methods of torture that would be displayed by Shi Lang over the next few weeks shocked the people, they could not understand how he was doing it, but they wished to stay away from the quick paths.
Shi Lang became the deterrent and when he finished handling all this mess created by delusional people, he headed back to the Asura Hall.
…
In the discussion hall, the guest elders and the elders were still sitting and going on with the discussion, they had no idea that Shi Lang had taken action already, because Yu Xeidi prevented this news from reaching these people. They have been throwing their weight around based on old credits, so this was getting rather wishy washy and the Asura Hall also needed to be cleansed.
The person who has created this impending storm for them was sitting cozily in his chair and sipping on some herbal wine. He was an alchemist who has earned merit by developing a new formula for a spirit refining pill, and this became his ticket to enter the Asura Hall, called Mu.
Suddenly, the door of the gathering hall was pushed open. Hao Mei walked in with a confident step, and the people froze. They were discussing the pros and cons of attacking the evil cultivator, and Hao Mei’s sudden arrival caused them to freeze.
The young lady looked at the people and said, “I hope you have been well, and the treatment given to you have been respectful and deserving your skills, right?”
Just the calm in her voice sent shivers down their spines, and without caring for them, Hao Mei continued, “The Hall Master will be coming over in a few moments, it would be wise of you all to speak your mind honestly to him.”
The gathering hall echoed with a loud banging silence.
