After the shower, I changed into sleepwear. Loose shirt. Comfortable pants. Hair still damp enough that droplets slid slowly down the back of my neck. Simple. Relaxed.

Which meant I absolutely should’ve gone to bed.

Instead, I found myself standing in front of Lilith’s room.

At this point I wasn’t even pretending to be smart anymore.

The hallway was quieter here. Softer lighting. The kind of warm luxury only Lilith could somehow make feel natural instead of excessive.

I lifted my hand and knocked gently.

If she was already asleep, I wasn’t going to wake her.

Damn! This woman was not fighting fair.

The robe hung just low enough to be distracting without fully revealing anything. Which honestly made it worse. Her chest pressed softly against the fabric whenever she moved, threatening to spill free every time she shifted.

Meanwhile, she looked completely relaxed about it.

Like she had no idea what she was doing to me.

My brain immediately assessed the situation.

Objective: thank her politely.

Problem: Lilith exists.

I closed the door behind me carefully.

“You were waiting?” I asked.

“Of course.” Her eyes drifted slowly over me. “You came back late.”

There was something soft underneath her teasing.

“Oh?” she purred softly. “She’s teasing you again?”

I stepped forward slowly.

I looked directly into her eyes. “I want more.”

The silence after that sentence stretched warm and heavy between us. Like the room itself leaned closer to listen.
