Academy of Sins: My Six Succubi Roommates
Chapter 187. You Are Heartless
Succubi Chapter 187. You Are Heartless
Yeah, I did say that in confidence.
Cool line.
Solid.
Strong finish.
Very “demon prince who doesn’t care.”
Unfortunately… my body had other opinions.
Because while my brain was celebrating Level 26 like a responsible battle student, my so-called ‘lil brother’ had just woken up from whatever hormonal coma he was in and started protesting like I’d committed a war crime.
‘…Why did you kill them?’ he whispered in betrayal.
‘Why??? You are heartless.’
I stared straight ahead at the empty forest.
I did not look down.
I absolutely did not look down.
I inhaled slowly.
“They’re ghosts, Evan. Ghost. Monsters. Spectral entities. Hallucination with claws,” I muttered under my breath, keeping my tone flat and logical like I was explaining math to a child.
‘Ever heard of the quote,’ my ‘lil brother’ continued in wounded philosophy, ‘as long as there’s a hole, there’s a way?’
I closed my eyes.
Counted to three.
Opened them again.
“I’m taking a cold shower tonight.”
The wind brushed past the trees as if agreeing.
I exhaled, rolling my shoulders. The adrenaline was fading now, leaving behind that strange mix of victory and secondhand embarrassment.
My armor dissolved. The Shadow Blade dispersed. The orbs faded one by one like they were ashamed to be associated with this.
Honestly? Same.
I pulled out the Return crystal, turning it in my fingers. It glowed faintly, warm against my palm. The bracelet pulsed softly around my wrist, as if asking, ‘Ready to go home, champ?’
Yeah.
I was ready to get out of this forest of horny ghosts.
I tightened my grip, about to crush it.
And then I heard it.
Footsteps.
Multiple.
Dry leaves crunching.
Human footsteps.
I paused.
The crystal hovered inches from activation.
A woman’s voice carried through the trees.
“Oh… it seems someone from the academy already handled it.”
I blinked.
Slowly.
Very slowly.
Because that voice?
That tone?
It was smooth. Calm. A little amused.
I turned toward the sound.
And there they were.
A group emerging from the tree line near the village lantern glow.
Villagers.
At least fifteen of them.
Mostly adults. Some older teens. Faces illuminated by torchlight.
And at the front.
A woman.
Beautiful.
Not in a ghost way.
In a real way.
Long hair falling over one shoulder. Casual dress now, simpler than the one I remembered, but still elegant in how it framed her posture. She carried herself like someone used to being watched.
And then it clicked.
My stomach did a small flip.
Oh no.
No no no no.
I know her.
I know that face.
I know those eyes.
That slight tilt of chin.
The banshee from the tournament.
The one who… boobslapped me!
My brain replayed it in high definition.
The impact.
The entire crowd watching.
My soul leaving my body for three seconds.
I swallowed.
She didn’t recognize me.
Right.
I wore a mask back then.
Rogue Mask E.
Minion E.
Some random nobody in black who got publicly introduced to chest physics.
She stepped closer, studying me openly.
Her gaze lingered on my stance, my armor fading remnants, the faint mana residue still in the air.
Behind her, the villagers whispered.
Some looked relieved.
Some confused.
And then…
Oh.
That’s weird.
A chunk of the men were glaring at me.
Not normal glare.
Not “who is this stranger.”
More like “How dare you.”
And others looked sad.
Excuse me?
Meanwhile, some of the women looked… smug.
What.
Did I miss something?
The beautiful woman stopped a few steps away.
She smiled faintly.
“I thought they would send a female student.”
I forced a polite smile.
“They put it in the mission board for students. Females and male can take it.”
My voice was calm.
Measured.
Internally, my brain was screaming, ‘Please don’t remember the boobslap. Please don’t remember the boobslap. Please don’t remember the boobslap.’
She tilted her head slightly.
“I see.”
Her eyes narrowed just a fraction, like she was trying to place something.
Recognition flickered…
No. Please, no.
Before I could say anything else, one of the men behind her stepped forward aggressively.
“The only monster here is you!”
I blinked.
“…Huh?”
Another one chimed in.
“Why did you kill them?”
My brain paused.
“I’m sorry?”
“You killed them!” a third one shouted, pointing toward the forest. “So cruel!”
I stared at them.
Actually stared.
My mouth opened slightly.
Closed.
Opened again.
“Those were Spectral Crawlers,” I said slowly. “Rank D threat. Academy issued.”
Okay, I was totally confused. They were the ones who made the request, right?
Right???
“That’s what you call them?!” one man snapped.
“They were just horny!” another added, voice cracking emotionally.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh no.
My shoulders tensed.
The banshee woman glanced at the men with mild annoyance.
One of them actually looked like he was about to cry.
“You butchered them!” he shouted. “They never hurt anyone!”
My eyebrow twitched. “They were literally attacking me.”
“They were just asking for help!”
I inhaled slowly. “They were monsters,” I repeated.
“You didn’t even hesitate!” one of the men accused, crossing her arms.
I blinked. “…Was I supposed to?”
Silence.
Several villagers looked genuinely offended.
Like deeply offended.
The kind of offended where someone just insulted their religion, their ancestors, and their favorite food in one sentence.
I looked between them.
Then at the forest.
Then back at them.
“They were trying to stab me, and I only did my mission.”
“That’s not the point!” one of the men snapped, stepping forward like he was about to defend the honor of his… ghost girlfriend.
I inhaled slowly.
“They were misunderstood,” another one added, voice shaky, like he was about to cry.
“Misunderstood?” I echoed.
“Yes!” a third one jumped in. “They just… express themselves differently!”
I stared at him.
Long.
Hard.
“By lunging with claws?”
“That’s how they communicate!”
My brain paused.
Restarted.
Failed to boot.
Behind them, the women exchanged looks.
Smug ones.
Tired ones.
One even crossed her arms like she had been waiting for this exact moment her entire married life.
Another man stepped forward, clutching his chest dramatically. “Do you know how rare it is to find monsters like that?!”
I was speechless at this point.
