Chapter 719: Altar of Emptiness
Chapter 719: Altar of Emptiness
Ezequiel spent six years cultivating, soothing the raging power running inside his body after reaching Late Rank 7 and completing his Fourth Silver Star of Origin.
Although, the word silver was not accurate anymore since the golden threads had now become streams, and each star began to glow with such might that they soon might resemble suns!
When the Supreme Neo-Demon finally opened his eyes and felt the immense power he had obtained, he could not stop smiling from the excitement.
Ezequiel unleashed all of his power, making the cave he had used as a hideout crumble to pieces.
The Supreme Neo-Demon rose from the ground, pushing his perception to the limit. Without wasting time, he split his body into nine avatars, which flashed in different directions.
As a Rank 7 Neo-Demon with an Immortal Avatar True Doomsday Body, Ezequiel could form more than one hundred avatars.
However, if he wanted the avatars to reach an Initial Beyond Falsehood battle power after they used World Strength to enhance themselves, then nine was the limit.
The avatars went after the parasites that populated the Empty World and started an absolute carnage. Those creatures could barely reach Peak Rank 7, so none of them could pose any resistance, and Ezequiel slaughtered them!
He did not do it for himself since the dark force coming from the parasites could no longer help him due to its low quality. The reason why he killed those creatures was to feed Entropy.
With only one year left until the end of the Trial of Life and after devouring more than one million parasites, the Sanctus Battle Partner evolved into Rank 8. That was not all, as that dark force also improved its foundation, exponentially enhancing his control over World Strength.
When Ezequiel fused with Entropy, he felt his control over World Strength achieve a qualitative evolution. It was as if he could now communicate with the essence of the world.
“The origin!” Ezequiel’s eyes glowed like a silver sun as he found out just how high his connection with the world had become.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!” He began to laugh like a madman before focusing on a point in the distance and revealing a cold smile.
An Outlandish Beast of Emptiness suddenly trembled as it felt an immense force coming in its direction.
“Roar!” It unleashed a furious roar, but shock appeared in its eyes the next second as it felt the Empty World restricting it.
The Outlandish Beast of Emptiness did not understand what was happening, but its battle power went from the Peak Beyond Limit Stage to the Middle.
Ezequiel could not fully use the power of the Empty World. Still, that suppression was more than enough since after fusing with Entropy, his battle power reached the Initial Beyond Redemption Stage!
One could imagine what happened next. Ezequiel butchered the Outlandish Beast of Emptiness before devouring it. He could not perform his Fourth Ignition yet, but could still obtain the dark force from the creature by eating them!
In the void outside the Empty World, the entity in charge of the Sacred Trial saw how Ezequiel went on a rampage, killing the monsters from which he was supposed to run away.
While the Trial of Life had a hidden reward in the form of the dark force coming from the parasites, it was also supposed to test survival skills. The Lord of Emptiness never intended the Empty World to become an all-you-can-eat buffet where the challenger would become the world’s apex predator.
“If it weren’t for those Artificial Paths of Power that I can not seal, he would have died long ago. Fucking Singularity, he affected the entire universe.”
He wanted to unlock the full power of those Outlandish Beasts of Emptiness so that they could tear Ezequiel to pieces, but he couldn’t go against the Secret Trial’s rules.
After the one hundred years were over and the Trial of Life ended, the entity brought Ezequiel out of the Empty World.
The Supreme Neo-Demon’s slaughter aura was so intense that one could see a red force permeating his body. He had killed one hundred and twenty-five Outlandish Beasts of Emptiness, taking one hundred corpses and leaving the others for Entropy.
Both Sanctus Battle Partner and Supreme Neo-Demon had devoured all the corpses, but they had barely digested two percent.
It would be decades before they entirely transformed those creatures into nutrients for their bodies.
“Hmph!” The entity sneered as he saw the smile on Ezequiel, but this one did not even bother.
Ezequiel had chosen to disregard the entity’s behavior completely. Since this one could not harm him and had to follow the Secret Trial’s rules, it did not matter if they did not get along.
“You fused Emptiness Aura into your body and survived one hundred years inside the Empty World; therefore, you have the right to advance to the last trial.”
Ezequiel narrowed his eyes as he heard those words, particularly the part about Emptiness Aura.
‘So, if I had just hidden, I would have failed the Trial of Life. He did not tell me, so the Lord of Emptiness never intended to reveal that hidden requirement.’
The questions about the Lord of Emptiness inside Ezequiel’s mind kept piling up. However, something shocking brought him back to reality.
After the entity waved his hand, the massive Empty World crumbled into pieces, killing every single life inside it.
Before Ezequiel could even understand what was happening, all those pieces reformed into a fifty-meter tall altar with ten platforms.
A world larger than the Titan World reduced to such a small construct was beyond shocking.
Despite the black altar releasing no form of power, Ezequiel would be a fool if he underestimated it.
“This is the Trial of Death, and that is the Altar of Emptiness. To finish the trial, you need to reach the last platform. There is no time frame for this trial.”
Ezequiel grew serious as he heard the entity’s words. He did not care about this trial having the name Trial of Death since that could have many reasons, one being that the Lord of Emptiness sucked at naming things.
What truly mattered for the Supreme Neo-Demon was the no time limit. He was sure there was an important reason behind it, but since the entity did not elaborate, it would be up to him to find it.
