Abyss Tree Evolution: A Mission to Conquer the World
Chapter 205: Two Methods
"No, the Law of Formation must be used this way — your method will noticeably reduce output!" an old man shouted as he stood before a large table covered in numerous diagrams. Around him stood many young men and older men, and before him stood a young man who barely looked to be in his twenties, likewise surrounded by many young men and older men.
At this moment, the two of them looked like two opposing factions!
"So what if output is reduced a little — using my method will drastically cut down on the loss of ore, and the quality will be far better!" the young man shouted, pointing to the numerous diagrams before him.
"And do you think that in the coming stage the kingdom is about to go through, we can afford any delay in production!" the old man waved his hand and shouted irritably. "We’re already suffering from insufficient output and need to multiply it several times over to meet His Majesty’s demands, and here you are wanting to delay production even further!"
"What’s going on here!" In the midst of the two factions’ dispute, Supervisor Jaco walked in and immediately shouted at them in anger. He had brought His Majesty King Vaelor along, wanting to show him the diligence and dedication of the production development team — not their bickering and shouting!
The development team hastily turned around, and when they saw the person standing behind Supervisor Jaco, their eyes immediately widened in terror. They quickly dropped to their knees and shouted together in one voice, as if they’d been rehearsing it for days....
"We greet the Elf Ancestor, Protector of the City of Light, Guide of Heroes, His Majesty King Vaelor!"
"Alright! Alright! Come on, get up now!" Vaelor waved his hand, savoring their praise, but his focus right now was on more important matters!
"Well then, why are you all making such a racket!" Vaelor stepped forward and stood before the table like the rest of the elves, furrowing his brows as he looked over all those documents and their contents, a rough guess already forming in his mind as to the cause of all this dispute!
"My Liege, the kingdom is now entering a critical juncture, and we need every weapon we can produce — in fact, we need to multiply output several times over to keep pace with the demands you’ve instructed us on!" the old man pointed to his stack of documents, quickly justifying his position.
Vaelor didn’t answer him right away, but soon turned to look at the young man. "And you!"
"My Liege, it’s true his plan would let us produce a great many weapons in record time, but the weapons produced would be of poor quality, at the cost of wasting large quantities of ore — and that’s something that shouldn’t be allowed!" the young man quickly explained his position, promptly laying out his point of view.
"But with the method my fellow brothers and I devised, we’ll minimize resource consumption to the lowest possible level, while achieving the highest quality and the highest possible success rate!"
After listening to both of them, Vaelor leaned forward slightly, resting both hands on the table, and looked over the documents before him with a scowling expression.
In truth, he already had a solution to their dilemma, and for him the solution was quite simple, being someone who wielded the Law of Origin... a law higher and more powerful than the Law of Formation used by the elves, surpassing it by several degrees in the very same category and the very same tasks.
On top of that, that very morning he had received the materials he’d requested from Director Lance the day before, and among those materials were advanced blueprints for manufacturing ordinary weapons and advanced arrays, which any nation would need. In addition, there were numerous methods for advanced ore detection and the best techniques for extracting it. On top of all that, there were even space invasion ships!
But Vaelor had no intention of telling the elves any of this. He didn’t want to solve their problems for them directly, so long as those problems didn’t require urgent action and delaying them wouldn’t bring about serious trouble — Vaelor wasn’t going to stick his nose into this situation.
Vaelor didn’t want to simply build a powerful kingdom that everyone feared merely because of his name — he wanted to build a nation that relied on itself, one that produced its own weapons, its own food, its own scholars, and its own manufacturers on its own, without ever having to extend its hand toward any other place or anyone else.
So that even if he were gone one day, conflict wouldn’t erupt among them, and they wouldn’t scatter and fragment in every direction like some helpless, homeless people, as some might put it!
"Your plan is to continue with the conventional approach, where ready-made molds are used and someone employs the Cosmic Law of Formation to reshape materials to match that mold, producing the weapon in the fastest and easiest way possible," Vaelor looked at the old man as he stated what he’d noticed, then continued, "But why does your method involve such a huge amount of wasted resources!"
"My Liege, this metho—" the old man tried to justify himself, but stopped when he saw Vaelor raise his hand to silence him and cut him off!
"And your method revolves around refining and polishing the materials multiple times using the Law of Formation, which increases the purity of the material and removes the greatest possible amount of impurities from each material, thereby reducing material consumption. Then you compress the materials together using the Law of Formation and fuse them together perfectly, so the product’s quality and durability increase drastically at once!" Vaelor looked at the young man with calm eyes and quickly laid out the problem he’d found in his method as well...
"But why does this method consume so much time, and why are there so few people capable of using it?"
"My Liege, that’s because—" the young man tried to justify himself too, but Vaelor quickly raised his hand and stopped him!
"I’ll tell you both why you’re having all these problems!" Vaelor waved his hand, and numerous branches rose up from beneath the ground, quickly rising and forming a seat behind his back.
Vaelor grasped the armrest of the throne made of branches and sat down upon it, looking first toward the old man.
"Your method carries a great risk, in that the materials and ores aren’t refined and polished sufficiently, which causes no small amount of pure metal to go to waste!"
