Abyss Summoner
Chapter 878: Justice
Chen Feng is a man of decisive actions; once he makes a decision, he accomplishes his goals as quickly as possible.
The relocation of Sea God’s Residence is now a certainty, which means tens of thousands of people need to leave this familiar sea and head to… the dark and sunless deep sea.
However, the pressure in the deep sea is the most challenging issue at hand.
Without external protection, even Gold tier warriors would be suffocated to death due to the terrifying pressure, let alone ordinary professionals and common people.
Casually tossing them into the sea, even not thousands, just tens of meters deep, would cause horrendous casualties.
Chen Feng doesn’t want to see a good intention turn into a tragedy in the end.
Rely solely on the survivors themselves?
That’s simply not an option, and Chen Feng must find other methods.
After some thought, Chen Feng considered the giant beast accompanying him into the deep sea.
“The Legendary Giant Whale might be a good transportation tool.”
The Legendary Giant Whale has a massive body exceeding thirty meters, making it an undisputed deep-sea beast; despite its nearly non-existent power on land, it is a true ruler in the ocean!
Possessing Legendary Power, the whale can naturally withstand the deep-sea pressure, and furthermore, its thirty-meter gigantic body can cram in between one thousand and two thousand people at once.
Transporting tens of thousands of people is a large project, thus with such calculations, the Legendary Giant Whale would need to shuttle hundreds of times in the deep sea to complete the relocation of Sea God’s Residence.
Though somewhat slow and delaying the return to Order, this is the only solution for now.
………
“Throw away useless junk; don’t bring these bottles and jars; toss them! Throw them all away!”
“What’s this? Does this shabby sack have any use?”
“Why are you moving stones? It’s simply ludicrous!”
On the coast, noisy voices sounded, amidst scolding, pleading, and crying, making people’s hearts a bit irritable.
Leaving one’s homeland always causes feelings of gain and loss; no matter how bad Sea God’s Residence is, it is the land where they have lived for years—naturally, relocation will make some feel downcast.
Especially…
The destination for this relocation happens to be beneath the deep sea, and even the tool transporting people is just a sea beast of dozens of meters, which undoubtedly strains everyone’s endurance.
“We won’t leave!”
“We’re not going anywhere!”
“We would rather live here, even without food; we can survive by relying on fishing!”
After the chaos had continued for a while, a young man stood up. Because Sea God’s Residence is connected by ships, each ship has a captain for management.
The captain is similar to a steward, responsible for all expenses on board.
Though originally a reluctance to leave, the young man appeared quite fierce, possessing Silver Tier strength, and impressively had a pirate-exclusive hook instead of a left arm.
He is a captain!
Having mingled in Sea God’s Residence for a long time, he holds considerable prestige, and those around him even have numerous followers.
It’s difficult to distinguish whether they truly don’t want to leave or if they’re trying to maintain their ruling authority.
A ship signifies a miniature society; on this vessel, he is the true king, all survivors orbit around him like stars around the moon, placing him on high, not daring to show any disrespect.
He enjoys the royal treatment, but this privilege is only effective aboard the ship. Once moving to the so-called new environment, he will lose his greatest support, naturally no longer able to enjoy the current status!
This might be a conspiracy!
Since he took the lead, many voices of support arose around him, and more than twenty ship captains rallied to the call.
The common trait among these ships is their large size, each housing more than a thousand inhabitants, meaning that all the combined populations of these ships now exceed twenty thousand, nearly thirty thousand!
Zhao Qiangdong’s face looked grim; he was appointed as the leader for this relocation, and any mishap would require him to bear some responsibility.
“Do you know what you’re saying?” Zhao Qiangdong’s face showed slight anger, and his voice became hoarse.
“Of course we know, but we don’t want to leave home; we’ve put too much effort here, leaving now means all that hard work goes to waste!” The fierce-looking captain stepped forward, rebuffing Zhao Qiangdong.
“Yes, we don’t want to leave!”
“Even if we leave, why go to the deep sea? Plus, to crawl into a monster’s mouth, is this really a rescue?”
“We don’t want to be deceived, nor do we want to be buried in a monster’s belly!”
Voices around became somewhat noisy, at first just a few, and eventually grew louder and numerous, spreading beyond the initial twenty-odd ships, with more voices of dissent emerging.
Perhaps it’s the prevailing atmosphere, but the folk customs here are more unruly compared to Order; or in other words, there are no binding laws here, and many have grown accustomed to speaking with barbarism.
Zhao Qiangdong’s face looked grim; he’d witnessed Chen Feng’s actions firsthand, knowing the man’s patience was not good. If such an issue put Chen Feng’s faith in his capability into question, Zhao Qiangdong’s good days would soon be over.
Killing the chicken to alert the monkey.
Zhao Qiangdong’s face turned ominous as he beckoned to have the instigators killed, hoping to stabilize the chaotic public sentiment.
However, someone was faster than he!
Just as Zhao Qiangdong was about to issue the command, the fierce captain suddenly self-ignited.
“Boom!”
A loud explosion erupted like a torch, instantly lighting up the deck.
Bystanders were stupefied, the noisy sounds abruptly ceased—with the vast sky and earth filled only with the captain’s painful wails.
This was far from over; meanwhile, the leaders who initially responded to the captain began self-immolating one after another.
Who could have expected the heads who were previously indignant to now become flaming, wailing human torches?
The surrounding sounds ceased to be noisy, instead becoming an eerie silence; everyone’s gaze trembled as they watched the scene unfold.
Even Zhao Qiangdong’s face turned pale; his lips trembled slightly, for he hadn’t witnessed any tricks, everything happened so suddenly!
“Tap, tap!”
Heavy footsteps sounded from behind, and Chen Feng, with an indifferent expression, addressed everyone present: “I am not a dictator; I give each of you the right to choose. I have two points to make…”
Chen Feng’s gaze swept the surroundings.
“Either die or move to the new environment; now, you can choose…”
