Abyss Summoner
Chapter 860: Natural Barrier
“Dimension gateway?” At this moment, a vivid scene appeared before Chen Feng’s eyes.
Several hundred meters deep under the ocean, devoid of any human presence, there was only a legendary-tier giant whale and Pang Mu, whose face was filled with excitement.
In front of them, there was a dazzling colorful stripe, slightly emanating an intangible mental pressure.
The strangest thing was that not long after Pang Mu entered the stripe, he captured a bizarre-looking creature from within.
The place where the giant whale was located was the seafloor, where apart from marine creatures, it was impossible for a terrestrial beast with chaotic fur and tusks to appear.
Chen Feng could even envision the scene where the strange beast appeared at the seafloor, drowning in despair due to suffocation and being choked by the water, while Pang Mu exhibited a sinister smile.
If the Legendary Giant Whale wasn’t lying, then Chen Feng could conclude that it was another world, a strange dimension!
The Legendary Giant Whale had no reason to lie, Pang Mu was already dead, and it had chosen to pledge allegiance to him, so lying wouldn’t serve it any purpose.
The whale wasn’t stupid; it wouldn’t lie to offend him.
“To think that mastering the Sea God’s Residence wasn’t enough, unexpectedly it came with a bonus, including a dimensional plane,” Chen Feng felt as though he had hit the jackpot; all good things seemed to be bestowed upon him.
Perhaps this is the karmic effect of the Child of Destiny?
The other party was like a second-generation rich, born at the pinnacle of life, with resources, wealth, and even women, all seeking him out without needing to make an effort, falling into his arms.
Compared to the other party, Chen Feng was like a child from a poor family, having to invest tenfold or even hundredfold to acquire certain things.
Someone like Pang Mu becomes stronger with each passing day because you simply wouldn’t believe what fortuitous encounters he might stumble upon in just one day.
Chen Feng even regretted killing him, pondering whether if he had kept him alive, fortuitous encounters would automatically present themselves to him? Then Chen Feng could sit back and reap the benefits, gradually strengthening himself and the entire Order.
Shaking his head, Chen Feng gave a wry smile, dismissing the thought.
The villain dies due to indecisiveness.
The Child of Destiny is like a fish swimming in the river; capturing it once is already a tremendous luck. Once neglected, the other party will slip away from his grasp, and by then, Pang Mu will hide and silently accumulate power, posing a catastrophic risk to Order.
Chen Feng never regretted killing Pang Mu. If given another choice, he would still strike him down decisively without a trace of hesitation.
“Take me to the location where you saw the stripe.” Chen Feng’s ethereal voice transmitted into the giant whale’s mind.
“Woo woo…” A spout of water erupted from the giant whale’s head. It had already pledged allegiance to Chen Feng, and whether it was the seafloor or the fiery mountains, it dared not say a word.
“Boom!”
A massive wave blossomed in the ocean, and the Legendary Giant Whale began to swim toward the dimension’s location.
Chen Feng followed closely behind, diving into the depths of the sea with the whale.
The power of a Half-Step Epic was extraordinary. As soon as Chen Feng reached the seafloor, a semi-transparent energy shield about three meters wide formed around him.
Within this energy shield, Chen Feng felt as though he was on land. Even buoyancy and pressure at the seafloor were shielded, posing no threat to him.
At 100 meters, everything was normal.
At 300 meters, everything was normal.
At 500 meters…
Chen Feng followed the whale deeper into the ocean. Initially, everything was normal, and he could even see sea beasts swimming around. But as they descended to around 800 meters, the surrounding seawater became exceedingly murky.
This feeling was akin to a giant dragon stirring up the seafloor, raising the sands and affecting normal visibility.
—— Vision probing!
A sharp glint flashed across Chen Feng’s eyes, and the murky environment suddenly became clear.
At this moment, he even witnessed an intriguing scene: hidden within the murky surroundings were countless predators.
Giant lobsters three meters long crouched together, sea snakes as large as mountains, and ugly fish covered in sharp spines.
These strange marine creatures lurked in ambush; if low-tier creatures approached, they would unhesitatingly pounce and seize their prey.
Yet neither Chen Feng nor the Legendary Giant Whale lacked a terrifying aura that could be summed up by the words [Don’t Mess With Me!]
Because of this, the originally fierce predators at this moment seemed like wilting eggplants, cowering to the side, fearing they might be discovered.
Natural selection.
The ocean floor has its own food chain; if the creatures didn’t provoke him, Chen Feng naturally wouldn’t pay them any attention, even if some predators were golden-tier creatures. But in Chen Feng’s eyes nowadays, they were simply rotten fish; with a wave of his hand, he could obliterate them.
Chen Feng completely ignored this group of creatures and continued descending; by now, they had reached an area over a thousand meters deep. The murkiness persisted, and the surrounding pressure clearly intensified.
Without any assistance, a normal person’s diving depth is about 10 meters. Professional divers can dive to 15 meters, even 17 meters (which is the limit)!
With diving equipment, the depth one can reach increases to a hundred-meter limit.
Chen Feng didn’t wear any diving equipment and solely relied on his physical strength to dive close to a thousand meters, perhaps that’s the allure of being a professional.
Extraordinary beings essentially exist as real-life superheroes.
At this point, the diving depth had surpassed 2000 meters, nearing the 3000 mark.
And after the murkiness persisted for some time, the water suddenly became crystal clear. This clarity surpassed normal levels without any impurities, as if purified by some special power.
Chen Feng was suddenly astounded by the scene before him, for in his line of sight, there was a colorful fissure beyond description.
It resembled a fissure caused by an earthquake, measuring half a meter wide, but at the mouth of the fissure was a shimmering light membrane flowing slowly. From afar, it looked like a ribbon filled with eerie colors.
And around the fissure, numerous bones lay scattered, appearing like some unknown beasts in terms of size. However, they were already devoured to the marrow by surrounding predators, not leaving even a trace of flesh and blood.
The apocalypse altered the genes and habits of creatures; even the most gentle of fish would self-evolve in this crisis-ridden environment, transforming from good to evil. However, some fish might stick to their nature but would be completely eliminated in this perilous habitat until they faced extinction.
This is a world of black and white, or a world of life and death.
To survive, one must blend into the darkness; stubbornly holding on, until the day one can hold on no longer. Perhaps then there would only be one path left: the path of death!
Seeing the corpses lying around, Chen Feng finally understood why Pang Mu, even knowing the dimension was beneath the Sea God’s Residence, didn’t truly worry.
This was thousands of meters below the sea, and except for Legendary powerhouses, even golden-tier experts would likely suffocate to death halfway if they tried to swim up in one go.
The deep sea, the terrifying pressure, constituted a natural barrier. Although the monsters from the other dimension were prepared to test the waters, the moment they stepped out into the world, they faced suffocation and death.
