Abyss Summoner
Chapter 854: Half-Step Epic
Chapter 854 -826: Half-Step Epic
God as a sacrifice?
Every time Chen Feng slays a divine entity, he must exhaust all his resources, even bearing the bad news of his summoned beast’s death. Yet, the power of a true divine entity is a hundred times that of a split. What does this mean? It means even if the opponent stands there, allowing Chen Feng and his summoned beasts to bombard them, they wouldn’t necessarily suffer any damage.
But even such a formidable entity without boundaries still becomes a sacrifice on the altar, indirectly proving that conventional power cannot break through this altar.
Perhaps only the legendary Supreme God uniting can contend against it, but that is far too distant for Chen Feng.
Compared to ordinary people, legends regard humans as they do ants. Yet, compared to legends, the altar is akin to a human compared to an insignificant cell.
Comparability?
There’s none!
Chen Feng does not hasten the altar’s swallowing; the opponent is something he cannot provoke at all, so at this moment, he can only wait slowly.
Meanwhile, the Inferior Demon and Blazing Demon guard around Chen Feng, ensuring he doesn’t suffer an ambush at this critical moment. Earlier, several summoned beasts were severely wounded by Pang Mu, the Mind-Reading Demon died instantly, and the Son of Darkness was seriously injured. As a divine scourge, the Inferior Demon’s recovery ability has long been terrifying to the extreme. For others, fatal wounds only require it to devour some life and it can recover by half.
In times past within Order, Chen Feng ordered it not to devour recklessly. But in these special circumstances, Chen Feng lets it feast thoroughly.
The Inferior Demon just dove into the water, transformed into its second form, and began greedy devourment. Countless marine creatures entered its mouth; precisely because of this, it recovered about seventy percent of its body’s injuries in such a short time.
“Big fool, what do you think the master is doing?” The Inferior Demon tilted its head, floating in mid-air. Due to the master’s orders not to approach, it could only ponder alone here.
The Blazing Demon is infinitely close to epic, and ordinary experts wouldn’t even have the courage to speak to it. But the Inferior Demon can be said to rely on its pet status, initially unclear of its identity. As its realm rose, the Inferior Demon gained some wisdom and understood it was the master’s first summoned beast; from then, the consciousness of “I am the greatest” appeared in its mind.
No matter how terrifying the Blazing Demon is, it targets outsiders. But for the Inferior Demon, the opponent is merely its underling, nothing more.
“Hmph!”
The Blazing Demon isn’t pleased; it doesn’t want to speak, not even a word. Especially towards an odd existence with a human face, seemingly harmless but causing even its own heart to palpitate.
Divine Scourge.
The master actually has a divine scourge at his side. Initially, upon knowing all this, even the Blazing Demon felt a slight surprise.
“Tch, don’t speak if you don’t want to.” The Inferior Demon shifted its head, completely unbothered by the Blazing Demon’s indifference; its attention was entirely fixed on the master.
The time is slipping away.
Chen Feng is immersed in a void-like state; he doesn’t know how long has passed when suddenly the altar refracts a red beam. Soon, a dragon eye-sized, blood-red, semi-transparent pill slowly floated into view!
How could it be a pill?
Chen Feng is puzzled. He looks intently and notices something even more astonishing; inside the pill, there’s vaguely a baby’s silhouette, and most shockingly, on it, Chen Feng senses Pang Mu’s aura!
Even though the pill carries Pang Mu’s aura, it isn’t truly Pang Mu but the energy aura from his body!
Apparently, the altar extracted the opponent’s energy and refined it into the current pill. The pill contains surging energy, as Chen Feng clearly feels. The aura within doesn’t fall short of his own, all being legendary aura; and ordinary people’s energy cannot be absorbed whatsoever. Forcibly absorbing often results in immediate energy conflict, leading to self-destruction.
But this pill is different; it’s the purest energy, containing a hint less explosion and a touch more gentleness. Nevertheless, it still requires caution.
Chen Feng tries to grab it, and as it’s clasped in his hand, the pill suddenly seems to come alive. An apparition of Pang Mu emerges on top of the pill.
Pang Mu roared, his body size growing larger and displaying a domineering presence. With a single roar, the sky changed colors, mountains and rivers trembled, and especially his sonic waves, which were comparable to any catastrophe in this world.
This is like some kind of protective shield; only by eradicating the leftover thoughts can one consume this pill. What kind of existence was Pang Mu at his peak? Devouring deities, stepping into Half-Step Epic, but at this moment, he’s merely a lingering thought, easy for Chen Feng to destroy.
At this moment, Chen Feng took an opposite approach, instead of suppressing Pang Mu, he transformed into Demon Form and sucked forcefully. Suddenly, a massive air current appeared, like countless arms flashing towards the pill and grabbed it.
“Smack!”
A crisp sound, even if the pill struggled, it was to no avail. With a strong tug, it was pulled by Chen Feng towards himself.
Pang Mu roared repeatedly in the void, attempting a final resistance, but Chen Feng didn’t even look at him, like swatting away a fly, his arm waved, and a vast flame wrapped around the phantasmal image. Silent howls echoed around, signaling the disappearance of Pang Mu’s last will in this world, gone without a trace.
Pang Mu’s phantom was insignificant, what Chen Feng needed to do next was to consume this pill!
As the pill floated before him, Chen Feng grabbed it forcefully, clutching it in his hand. At this moment, that hand trembled slightly, his head slightly bowed, his dark eyes intensely stared at the slowly writhing pill, the black-and-white eyes flickering with struggle.
No matter how calm Chen Feng might be, facing such an almost unknown situation, a few traces of fear and unease were inevitable in his heart. It couldn’t be helped, for what he was about to swallow was an extremely restless bomb. No one knew what would happen after consuming this pill.
The altar wasn’t his kin; it merely accepted his offerings to grant certain rewards. Whether this pill would cause negative effects, Chen Feng had no clue. What he was doing now was mostly gambling.
Time passed silently with tick-tocks. At a certain moment, Chen Feng suddenly shuddered gently, took a long, warm breath, slightly lifted his head, looked at the pill in front of him, no longer hesitating, and abruptly tossed it into his open mouth.
As the pill entered his mouth, Chen Feng immediately closed his lips tightly. Simultaneously, his entire body quivered violently as though struck by lightning. Originally having some color, his face suddenly turned ghastly pale.
Bracing against the burning pain inside, Chen Feng slowly closed his eyes, his spirit gradually sinking inward.
Despite possessing the bloodline of a Blazing Demon, which made soaking in magma without issue, when this pill entered his mouth, it melted instantly. Soaking in magma would pose no problem, but now a whole river of magma flowed within his body.
The pill turned into pure energy, akin to magma, rushing chaotically through his body, burning everything that obstructed its path to null.
Of course, the pain from his twisted scorched meridians directly caused Chen Feng’s body to twitch intermittently, his muscles tensed tightly, veins bulging like crawling worms, and his pale face devoid of even a hint of color.
Just when Chen Feng couldn’t bear it anymore, the Frost Ring on his arm activated. It had a passive effect; whenever Chen Feng encountered high heat or temptation, it would release energy to help him out of the predicament.
Frigid cold surged through his fingers; Chen Feng seemed to feel his finger turn into ice lumps, his entire body shivering slightly, strands of crystalline ice thread starting to coil around his hair.
As the cold entered his body, it effectively countered the internal scorching heat. The sudden comfort made Chen Feng exhale deeply, softening his previously ghastly face significantly.
Externally, as icy layers covered every part, Chen Feng’s spirit began to attempt to touch the blazing air inside his body. However, upon contact, Chen Feng was amazed to discover that those energies were trying to alter his body!
These energies were not harmful; on the contrary, they were beneficial to Chen Feng!
These energies were like homeless children facing harsh conditions outside. Upon finding a warm room, they would desperately squeeze in, never wanting to leave!
Through divine sense, Chen Feng clearly saw his own body under these blesses, slowly strengthening. Both the flesh and bone underwent a special transformation.
In this coexistence of pain and pleasure, Chen Feng’s entire aura underwent a qualitative change; his strength incrementally climbed. If one were to describe it, it was like the realm Pang Mu had reached before. What does it mean?
After consuming the pill that condensed Pang Mu’s flesh and blood power, Chen Feng successfully stepped into Half-Step Epic?!
The altar wanted only Pang Mu’s destiny power; as for legendary flesh and blood, the altar didn’t care at all. Perhaps to reward Chen Feng, it broke Pang Mu’s flesh, reassembled the energy, and fed it back to Chen Feng unchanged!
This sacrifice, as Chen Feng expected, was a monumental gain!
