283 283: The abyss closes
“Wow, look at all that mess. It seems like your people don’t want you to rule over them. It must suck to be in your position. I truly feel sorry for you.”
Aurora did not feel sorry for the administrator but it was a way to taunt the other female. The administrator had a short temper and easily lost her focus.
Having spent so much time with her, Aurora was sure about a few things.
Firstly, the administrator might try to act like she was stable but that was not true. There were too many cracks in her mask.
In the end, the administrator was nothing more than a kid who had been left too much on their own and had too much power in her hand. She had never been any real threat to Aurora.
“Shut up, shut up, shut up. What would you even know about me? I was born to rule. My whole purpose is to harness the power of the abyss and make this floor a paradise that is outside of the tower’s control. I am the supreme being who will never die.”
The administrator was losing her reason slowly. The strain of the tower on her body was too much. She would not be able to control her body any longer and it was the prime time for Aurora to attack her.
With having to maintain the barrier as well as take care of the dwindling power supply, the administrator had her hands full. The only way for her to survive was if others came together and began to start the floor’s operation again.
But everyone down there wanted to get rid of their tyrant. They had enough of her rage and her obsession. They wanted the administrator gone and even the administrator knew that. They were why she was so pissed off and ready to lash on at anyone.
“H-How dare these people to go against me? After all, I did for them. I kept them safe from the tower and its watching eyes. It was all thanks to me that they were able to flourish this much.”
It certainly was true that this floor was the most well-off there was in the tower. Out of the nearly 50 Aurora had seen, nothing held a candle to this floor and never will.
But that did not mean the people were happy down there. They were begging for their freedom from this tyrant.
“Do you think these people will be able to survive without me? They will starve and then die cursing their fates. They will realize that the only way to survive had been me from the star.”
The administrator kept on going. The more power she lost, the more her reasoning seemed to falter. She was getting delusional at this point.
If Aurora could use her power then she would have killed the administrator right now. But Aurora was still a little tied out by the treatment she had been given.
The administrator still had the upper hand right now and it seemed like she no longer wanted to wait.
“The core. If I have the core then I will be the supreme being in this tower. I won’t need all these energy sources to keep me going. Hurry up and give me the core.”
The administrator was already on the road to self-destruction. Having read her file, Aurora was sure that her body will not be able to take the burden of the core and that was why she had been abandoned.
It was a sad truth about the administrator but one Aurora did not feel bad about exploiting.
“Fine. If you want the core then I will let you try the core.”
Aurora threw the core toward the administrator and she got a blast of energy in return. Her body was able to take the abuse but her vision felt blurry. The injury caused Aurora to not be able to stand up.
“Finally, I have it. I can feel its power.”
The floor was collapsing under the administrator’s feet as she flew down. But she cared about nothing but the core in her hand. She tried to absorb it but nothing happened.
The glee on the administrator’s face turned into fear and then loathing. She all but threw the core down and walked toward Aurora.
Aurora’s delicate hearing picked up another pair of footsteps heading her way but she was not afraid.
“You lied to me. The core is not helping me at all. Was it even real?”
The administrator held Aurora up by her neck, her eyes shining in hate and resentment. It was a betrayal for her to be played like this.
“B-But it’s your one fault. You might have been born to house a core but your body cannot handle one. In the end, you brought your fault.”
Aurora spoke confidently even as her neck was being crushed. She would not die from this but it was going to hurt.
Her legs were already starting to give in underneath her body weight.
“Then, if I am going to die, let’s die together. I am sure you will enjoy the depths of eternity. Even a goddess like you will not be able to escape it.”
The administrator was dragging Aurora toward the depths she could see beneath. The fall seemed like it had no end and Aurora was afraid that it was the case.
Once the fall began, Aurora tried to get the administrator’s grip off her neck but nothing helped. Aurora was powerless to right now to save herself.
But just when she was about to give up, it happened.
A sword cut through the administrator’s wrist smoothly and Aurora was in a pair of familiar arms.
Looking up to see the familiar blue and blond of Clove’s adult face was a shock and it added to Aurora’s not being able to move around. It was such a strong feeling that Aurora felt her neck and her heart hurt.
“Hello, did you miss me? I am sure we are quite even now on the accounts of saving each other.”
It felt like a dream or at least an illusion to Aurora. Seeing Clove standing like an adult behind her could be nothing else since Clove was a child right now.
“Even if it’s a dream, I don’t want to wake up. I missed you so much.”
There were so many emotions connected with that face for Aurora that she was not even able to voice her words correctly. It felt all too real for her to speak and feel Clove’s heat so near her body.
“I am flattered to know that you think of me in such high regards Aurora and I promise to you that everything would be alright. Are you willing to forgive me one last time?”
It all felt like a dream but Aurora felt reluctant to speak. Somehow it felt like a fair well to her and it made Aurora feel sick to her stomach.
“Let’s not say good buy right now. We have a lot of things left to discuss and a lot of misunderstandings to clear up. You won’t abandon me, right?”
Clove looked away with a sad look on her face and somehow Aurora felt like this was a goodbye for her.
“I am sorry but this is the end. If you remember, do know that I loved you a lot and I never meant for any of this to happen.”
Clove whispered those words before Aurora felt her world burn. Her chest was on fire as something was being pushed inside her.
It was too consuming and Aurora was not even able to open her mouth to speak anything. All she could do was lie there and take it.
Then, there was a shove to her body and she fell into a liquid.
p anda nOvel.cO,m Clove looked happy for a minute before her face twisted into a sick expression. Time should have been turning back now but it did not happen.
Instead, the magic began to concentrate and reach out toward Aurora’s body. It all began to flow into her and cause her to cry out loud.
“Aurora.”
Rita arrived in time to watch it happen but even she was powerless to stop Aurora’s torment now.
The final door of the abyss had been forced open and Aurora had passed it with all the cores inside her body.
“I need to go out and save her. Aurora’s in pain.”
Rita cried out as she tried to get near. But a sword on her neck stopped her. Not only her, but Clove looked sick as well to see a familiar face.
The blue-haired and golden eyes man looked exactly like Aurora did but male and taller. He had an impressive figure but also something Clove had missed.
He held the last core in his body that was needed by Aurora. Clove had made a mistake.
“Thank you for delivering our last ingredient to us. Now then, it’s time you all leave the abyss and never come back. From today, the abyss will be closing officially for everyone.”
