Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1830: The Three Lost Resonances

Chapter 1830: The Three Lost Resonances

"I obviously mean the three resonances that were originally born within my resonant palaces."

When Li Luo said those words, his expression grew complicated. When he first reached his current realm, he gained an understanding of many unexplained mysteries, so he knew what had happened to him all those years ago.

For example, his three resonant palaces. They had not started off as blank palaces. At the moment he was born, three resonances had been born within them. This meant that if nothing had changed, he would never have had blank palaces and would have had three resonances instead.

Just what sort of heaven-defying talent was that? Three resonant palaces and three resonances was the mark of a King Stage expert! Li Luo would've had a head start from the moment he started cultivating. Such talent was peerless through the ages. He was the first and only one to be born with that much luck.

This was so unbelievable that his name would've reverberated throughout the entire East Divine Continent. In fact, the inner divine continents' Heavenly Emperor powers would also be moved, coveting his talent and even trying to acquire it for themselves. Li Luo's life would've been completely different. However, none of that ever happened, because his triple resonances were quietly hidden away by a secretive force the moment he was born.

Li Luo now knew who was behind it all—it was the work of the Legendary Sect Master.

"You've actually seen through my biggest backup plan. As expected of the savior that will end the chaos," the Sect Master said gently. Her golden eyes showed even more intense appreciation and praise. She did not deny her involvement in the slightest.

Li Luo was a little annoyed as he retorted, "You're the reason I wasn't able to enjoy the feeling of being the number one genius in history."

The Sect Master laughed lightly. "I'm really sorry for that. However, if I had not hidden your three resonances, they would have been absorbed by the Absolute Resonance Seed. That would've only served to further the Dark Sect Master's ploy. I was unable to control it, so my only option was to plot even more deeply."

Li Luo was not really angry as he knew that those two were plotting against each other. However, he was still curious. Since the Sect Master had lost control of the Absolute Resonance Seed, how and when had she hidden away his three resonances? That had clearly taken place much earlier, long before the awakening of his resonances. Otherwise, they couldn't have evaded the Dark Sect Master's attention.

Li Luo's eyes flickered with a scintillating light, as though countless images were flashing in front of him. He then asked in astonishment, "So you used Sister Qing'e as a medium to accomplish that plan."

When Li Taixuan and Tan Tailan entered the sect's ruins all those years ago and found the Absolute Resonance Seed, they also discovered the slumbering and immature Jiang Qing'e. Tantai Lan was pregnant at the time, and the Absolute Resonance Seed entered her body and fused with the fetus. The process was dangerous and caused severe injuries to both the mother and the child. At that critical moment, Jiang Qing'e had dispersed some of her own flesh and blood during her hibernation to nourish them. This was the reason why Tantai Lan had always said that she and her son owed Jiang Qing'e more than she could know.

The Sect Master had evaded the Dark Sect Master's senses within the Absolute Resonance Seed by concealing Li Luo's resonances. If this hadn't been done, Li Luo would have awakened three resonances that would have all turned into nutrients for the Dark Sect Master. This would've resulted in the latter awakening sooner and becoming even more perfect. If things had unfolded that way, there would've been no chance for a comeback.

Li Luo to sigh emotionally as he thought about these things. The battle of wits between the Sect Master and her dark counterpart was truly shocking and breathtaking.

"With your current realm, what use would there be in continuing hiding it? Since you've unveiled the mystery, you can go and collect them yourself," said the Sect Master.

Li Luo grinned and didn't say another word. He focused inwards, as though uncovering the deepest secrets within his body. There was a layer of obscuring fog flowing within him, blocking off all his senses. However, the fog was no longer able to evade his perception, due to his current strength.

He lightly beckoned with his hand, then three motes of light flew to his palm, each flowing with wondrous light. They were his original resonances.

One was a Heavenly Dragon resonance and another was a Golden Winged Peng resonance. These two were not out of his expectations. They were the first resonances for his parents and thus, there was always a high probability that they would be passed on to him.

The third resonance was the one that left Li Luo and the Sect Master a little surprised. This was because it had no substantial form. It was ethereal, vaguely resembling a blurry river that flowed from the past to the present endlessly, reflecting eternity itself.

"Time resonance," Li Luo and the Sect Master said at the same time, their tones full of surprise.

"As expected of the most talented genius in history. You were born with an amazing resonance," the Sect Master said enviously. Even she was impressed by Li Luo's resonance, despite being an individual of great renown. She had never seen a resonance like it before.

That said, they were only admiring the sheer rarity of the time resonance. After all, if it had not reached the tenth-grade, which was the most important objective to achieve if they wanted to defeat the Dark Sect Master.

With that in mind, Li Luo didn't hesitate in the slightest to sacrifice all three of his dazzling resonances to the void. They dispersed from his body. It was at that instant that Li Luo's aura vanished from the Sect Master's senses. Whether it was the past, the present, or in the future, he couldn't be found.

Gradually, she could feel an indescribably powerful will that pervaded the entire world. A thoughtful and amused look could be seen in her golden eyes. This was the realm she had long sought to attain but had failed at the final step. The good thing was that she had been able to personally witness this moment, ensuring that her strand of will was not left behind was in vain.

"Congratulations, Li Luo. You've reached the tenth-grade. You are now the owner of the tenth-grade void resonance," said the Sect Master. Then she clasped her hands together, her sleeves drooping down as she bowed towards him. The legendary figure that had astonished everyone for countless centuries had offered Li Luo her most sincere congratulations, one that transcended time.

Li Luo solemnly returned the gesture. "Thank you, Sect Master, for protecting my Dao."

Her plans had spanned through time and space, and without her, Li Luo wouldn't have reached this step today.

The Sect Master explained, "The Dark Sect Master was born because of me and was a disaster of my creation. I naturally had to do my best to stop her."

She then gave a wry smile. "If I hadn't arrogantly entered the depths of the Shadow World in an attempt to annihilate the Origin of Absolute Corruption, none of this would have happened. Perhaps I should have just allowed time to pass, awaiting your birth. You might have managed to reach the tenth-grade without all this trouble and then ended the chaos."

Li Luo shook his head. "The Dao of the tenth-grade is incredibly arduous. If I had walked my original path, with three resonances and resonant palaces, I might not have reached this stage."

This entire journey had been filled with strife and struggle, and those trials had polished him into the treasure he was today. Starting with three resonances would've given him a smooth life. Although he would've defeated all of his opponents, it didn't mean he would've gained the enlightenment required to reach the tenth-grade.

The Sect Master smiled, her body gradually turning illusory. The remnant strand of will was about to be scattered across time. Li Luo had a complicated expression as he watched her dissipate. Although she had caused this calamity, she had also played a pivotal role in enabling him to reach this current level.

"Li Luo, there is no need to feel sentimental over this. This was my mission, and I've accomplished it perfectly," she said. Then she paused, and newfound emotion could be heard in her voice as she looked at him deeply with her golden eyes and said, "Li Luo, come a little closer."

He was a little puzzled, but he leaned closer either way. She stretched her hand out, then her slender finger curled and heavily flicked his forehead.

Peng!

Astonishment filled Li Luo's face as he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He never expected that the Legendary Sect Master would act in such a childish manner. Her actions were mysterious, but they also seemed to contain a hidden meaning.

"Hahaha!" After flicking his forehead, she began to guffaw loudly, her body becoming increasingly illusory, eventually disappearing before Li Luo's eyes.

Her laughter echoed through the Palace of Stars, followed by her faint final words. "Go, Li Luo. My mission has been completed. Now it's your turn to do your part. I failed to reach the tenth-grade, but I've still participated in the process of proving that it's real. How wonderful. Truly wonderful!"

The lingering echoes gradually faded away, and all traces of the Legendary Sect Master disappeared in the river of time.
