Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1827: Searching for the Answer

Chapter 1827: Searching for the Answer

After the sealed spatial crystals containing Heavenly Emperor Yin and Ling Shu appeared in front of Heavenly Emperor Jiang, the countless Heavenly Emperors present were completely dumbfounded by Li Luo's words. Eyes filled with disbelief were directed towards the two tiny trapped figures.

One of them was indeed Heavenly Emperor Yin, who they were all familiar with. He was the man who had tormented the divine continents for countless years, leading the Origin Reversion Institute in causing countless disasters. However, by the looks of things, he had actually been sealed away by Li Luo, and with ease at that.

The Heavenly Emperors turned to look at each other, their hearts overwhelmed with a multitude of emotions. In the end, all of their emotions transformed into a single feeling: respect for Li Luo.

Although Li Luo was considered a junior who had only recently become a Heavenly Emperor, respect was always accorded to the strong. Li Luo had attained the absolute pinnacle of power in the current world and walked further down the path of cultivation than all the other Heavenly Emperors present. Now that he had the quasi tenth-grade spatial fog resonance, he had far surpassed all of the Divine Fruit Heavenly Emperors.

Li Taixuan and Tantai Lan were swelling with pride and appreciation as they gazed at the slender youth. Seeing their son reach such heights brought them even more joy than if they were to reach the quasi tenth-grade themselves. As parents, it was natural to feel more proud of their children's achievements than their own.

They knew that Li Luo had walked a thorny road to reach where he was today, which made this moment even more emotional for them. He was once a troubled and anxious youth with a blank palace, but now he had reached a level that all Heavenly Emperors envied.

Li Luo fell silent as he mused over the question Heavenly Emperor Jiang had posed to him. Had he found the answer? Was the answer hidden in the ruins with the quasi tenth-grade spatial fog resonance? He shook his head and answered in a low voice, "This is still not enough."

When everyone heard him, the excitement on the Heavenly Emperors' faces receded as they understood what he meant. Even though he had the spatial fog resonance, he did not have enough power to reverse the crisis that loomed over the divine continents. This was because once the ten year period was up, the Dark Sect Master would reach perfection, truly entering the tenth-grade. That was one step above the quasi tenth-grade, an unimaginably massive gap. She would become a true sovereign of the world then.

The Heavenly Emperors couldn't help but raise their heads and look at the Acheronian Sun and Blood Moon in the sky. This twisted object was akin to the eye of a devil, coldly and mockingly staring at the living creatures who were struggling in their final death throes.

A sense of powerlessness suddenly pervaded the hearts of the Heavenly Emperors. The happiness they had felt from seeing Heavenly Emperor Yin sealed away was nowhere to be found, and a depressing atmosphere filled the air.

Heavenly Emperor Jiang took a deep breath and finally broke the silence. "Heavenly Emperor Luo, can you reach the tenth-grade?"

The only way to defeat the Dark Sect Master was to fight her with an equally powerful resonance. Li Luo was the only person in the world who could even hope to achieve that much power.

When faced with the question containing all of Heavenly Emperor Jiang's hopes, Li Luo couldn't reply. This was because he knew exactly how difficult of a task that was. Even the Sect Master with a quasi tenth-grade light resonance was unable to take that final step all those years ago. The Dark Sect Master, who had been formed by fusing the Origin of Absolute Corruption and the Sect Master, still had to plot and scheme for countless years in order to reach this point.

And what about Li Luo? He had merely inherited the quasi tenth-grade spatial fog resonance from his predecessor. Therefore, he thought of himself as far less capable than the previous Sect Master.

Li Luo looked up into the sky and took in the sight of the majestic temples that filled the Acheronian Sun and Blood Moon. The temples were flowing with mystical light, as though Jiang Qing'e was lovingly gazing upon him at this very instant.

There was no reason for him to give up now. Jiang Qing'e had put everything on the line to buy him this precious bit of time, so he couldn't let it go to waste. No matter how arduous the road was, he would do his best to search for the answer. On the day the ten years were up, Jiang Qing'e would be released from the seal in an incredibly weak state. He had to become as unshakeable as a mountain so he could stand before her and protect her.

"I'll remain within the sect for the next few years and search for the final answer," Li Luo calmly said when he made his decision.

The Heavenly Emperors all had solemn expressions as they bowed deeply towards him. "The future of the divine continents is in your hands now, Heavenly Emperor Luo."

If he could truly find the path to the tenth-grade, then everything could naturally be resolved. Otherwise, the divine continents would undoubtedly become the Dark Sect Master's playground and be transformed into a bizarre and warped world.

Li Taixuan and Tan Tailan stepped forward, the former lightly patting his shoulder. He smiled and said, "There's no need to put too much pressure on yourself. Just do your best."

Tantai Lan gently said, "If you can't do it, then bring Qing'e back to House Luolan. Your father and I will be waiting there. Even if the divine continents are destroyed, at least our family will be together. There is nothing to be afraid of."

Li Luo smiled and nodded upon hearing his parents' consolatory words. He reached out to hug both of them, then he turned away and vanished into the void. When he disappeared, everyone couldn't help but heave a sigh.

Now that Heavenly Emperor Yin had been sealed, the Origin Reversion Institute was essentially a headless dragon with no leader. The Shadow World had been quiet for a while too, so the Heavenly Emperors didn't know what to do.

"Everyone, please return home and enjoy these last few moments. Guarding the Nobles' Battlefield for so long must have been tiring. On behalf of the living creatures of the divine continents, I'd like to sincerely thank you for your contributions," said Heavenly Emperor Jiang.

He then clasped his hands respectfully towards them, and the rest returned the gesture. Heavenly Emperor Jiang's eyes were filled with complicated emotions.

He continued, "The future is not under our control anymore. Thus, the Heavenly Emperor's Alliance disbands here. May all of you have a smooth path in the understanding of your Authorities."

The Heavenly Emperors' eyes contained a hint of sadness when those words sunk in. The alliance that had been formed to tide through the darkest times of this era had finally come to an end. It wasn't exactly a positive ending though, as everyone was filled with a pervasive sense of helplessness.

They all understood that when the Dark Sect Master returned, there was no point in continuing with the alliance, because she wasn't an opponent they could deal with. The Heavenly Emperors, people that were regarded as omnipotent by the rest of the world, were akin to ants before the Dark Sect Master.

Everyone's mood was gloomy, but they didn't say anything else as they turned to leave, disappearing without a trace. As Heavenly Emperor Jiang watched the Heavenly Emperors leave in dismay, his mood sank as well. He clasped his hand in farewell towards Li Taixuan and Tan Tailan before taking his leave.

Li Taixuan and Tan Tailan took one last glance at the Sacred Void Resonance Sect before lightly sighing, and leaving for House Luolan hand-in-hand. They would await Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e's return there. No matter how things turned out, they would face them resolutely.

The ancient sect returned to its previous tranquility. Li Luo appeared within the Palace of Stars and stood on the throne, his gaze focused on the purple praying mat. This was the Sect Master's cultivation chamber. He sat cross-legged in front of the mat, and his eyes shimmered with a strange light as he could sense a trace of aura within it.

The wisp of remnant aura was archaic and incredibly mysterious. It was ethereal and almost seemed as though it existed and did not at the same time. Thinking about it, this was likely a wisp of the Sect Master's remnant aura. Even with his current power, Li Luo still couldn't peer through time and see her. Was it because he wasn't strong enough yet? In that case, what was he lacking?

Li Luo's frosty, silver eyes gradually closed, and he entered a deep state of meditation, pondering over the answer. Normally speaking, he would need a long amount of time to figure out the answer to this obscure question. However, he had a faint premonition that there was something that could help. The answer definitely lay within the Absolute Resonance Seed.
