Chapter 1606: Halo, Refine!
Chapter 1606: Absolute Resonance Halo, Refine!
The raging energy torrents throughout the world came to an abrupt halt. Only gloomy, chilly wind was left, spreading a bone-piercing cold as it wailed. It seemed to be bemoaning the fall of a King.
Everyone was looking at the location where the Enchanting Fox King's body had dissipated in a daze. The Other King that had left the experts of the Xia Kingdom in despair was now just a powerless scarlet source origin core spinning in the air. Its oppressive aura had also vanished without a trace.
This made everyone certain that the Enchanting Fox King had truly been killed by Li Luo! The First Princess, Yu Lang, Yu Hongxi, and the rest were overcome with emotion. They had personally witnessed the fall of a King, and what was most shocking was the fact that it was Li Luo who had caused it.
"I can’t believe that brat is so strong!" Yu Lang said. The emotions on his face began to subside, replaced by a genuine smile.
"Hahaha! Doudou, did you see that? I told you before, the moment Li Luo returns, all of our problems will be solved!" he heartily guffawed.
Bai Doudou pulled out her Cherry Blossom Spear from the skull of an Other, causing inky blood to spurt upwards. She smiled gently at Yu Lang and nodded. "You were right. He did resolve all our problems."
Yu Lang had placed his absolute trust in Li Luo from the beginning till the end. Even though it seemed irrational to her, the facts before her demonstrated that reality... was often illogical. No one had thought that a battle achievement that even Principal Pang had yet to attain would be obtained by Li Luo, someone who had entered the Astral Sage College with them. This would be the most brilliant achievement in the Astral Sage College;s history. On top of that, this battle would undoubtedly be carved into the annals of its history.
Yu Lang smiled proudly. This time, he did not howl in jealousy but instead raised his blade and let out a roar that resounded throughout the battlefield.
"Today is the day that the Astral Sage College's Li Luo slayed the Enchanting Fox King! Li Luo is almighty! The Xia Kingdom will be victorious!"
His voice was filled with passion, releasing all of his pent-up emotions, whether it was grief, anger, or despair. Everything he had sealed up in the depths of his heart was coming out at once.
They had bitterly held on for years, all for this glimpse of hope.
At this moment, Yu Lang felt a heavy burden lifted off his shoulders. He almost collapsed from exhaustion after holding on for so long.
His roar was heard far and wide, amd all of the Astral Sage College's students' eyes welled up with redness, crying out at the top of their lungs in awe and respect.
"Senior Li Luo is almighty!"
"Senior Li Luo is almighty!"
The morale on the Xia Kingdom's frontlines had soared as all of the troops shouted out in celebration. Countless pillars of energy flashed vibrantly, forming a wall that forced the Others back. Their voices, filled with jubilation, were so loud that everyone in the City of Southwind could hear it.
These cries continued to spread, to the point that even neighboring cities were affected. It was their sincerest belief that their words would ripple through the entirety of the Xia Kingdom and harken the beginning of the end of the Other Disaster.
The clamor did not go unnoticed by Li Luo, and he had a thoughtful look on his face. He knew that the Other Disaster was the harbinger of pain and suffering in the Xia Kingdom, and even the originally vibrant Astral Sage College had withered greatly as a result.
The bright side was that the toughest trial had finally been overcome. He was no longer the immature youth who had just entered the college all those years back. He now possessed both strength and influence and had the ability to protect the home he cared about. The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li was much more prosperous than the Xia Kingdom and multiple times more powerful. However, this was where Li Luo had grown up, and this place held memories that he cherished deeply. This was where he truly belonged, and he would do his best for it.
Li Luo raised his head and looked at the scarlet source origin core floating in the air. Strictly speaking, the Enchanting Fox King had not completely died yet. The source origin core was the true heart of a King, and if it was not destroyed, its own could revive. Destroying a King’s true body was the only way to reveal their source origin core. This meant that the Enchanting Fox King had lost all ability to resist and with just a hint of pressure, the remnant source origin energy within it would be annihilated. Even if a Grand Devil King took action personally, they would not be able to save it. That said... It was still a troublesome issue to deal with.
The source origin core contained corruption source origin, and if it were allowed to disperse, it would insidiously infect everything within tens of thousands of miles. As Li Luo hesitated, he could sense a cry coming from deep within his body. With a thought, he looked inward to see what had changed.
The cry had originated from his Absolute Resonance Halo! Li Luo's gaze flickered as he then roused the Absolute Resonance Halo from its state of slumber. Instantly, light that exuded an ancient aura shot into the skies and manifested into a giant dark golden wheel. The archaic and esoteric wheel seemed to contain the mysteries of the world.
The wheel shot a beam of light towards the scarlet source origin core. The object was unable to resist and was pulled into the center of the Absolute Resonance Halo, where a golden cauldron sat. The cauldron was filled with raging Greater Void Resonance Flames... As the source origin core was absorbed, the Greater Void Resonance Flames wrapped around it and started to incinerate the object. The pitiful screams of the Enchanting Fox King leaked out as the malicious corruption source origin was refined away.
The terrifying scarlet coloration gradually began to fade.
Li Luo was a little startled by this development. He didn't know that the Absolute Resonance Halo was capable of suppressing and refining source origin cores.
He also didn't know what would result from it. Regardless, this was a pleasant surprise.
After the golden wheel took in the source origin core, it began to shrink, turning back into a beam of light which shot back into Li Luo's body.
One of the Four Pestilence Kings, the Enchanting Fox King, had been completely vanquished.
"You deserve death!" In the void, the Ichythian King, the Cadaverous King, and the Demon Witch King were infuriated. Their killing intent soared into the skies, causing the temperature in the surroundings to plummet. They found it unimaginable that their attack, which they were certain would succeed, would be upended so horrifically. To make it worse, the Enchanting Fox King had fallen. This price was too much for them to bear.
Despite their fury, they were unable to get past Pang Qianyuan, Lan Lingzi, and Li Qingying's defensive line.
In the end, the Ichythian King could only let out a murderous roar. "Pang Qianyuan, you've completely offended my king. When it descends in person, there won't be a single lifeform left in this land."
Pang Qianyuan's expression sank. This threat wasn't empty in the least, and he was more than aware of the danger the Saturnine Hydra Devil King posed to them. That wasn't an enemy a few Single Crowned Kings could deal with.
After making its final threat, the Ichythian King shot away in a beam of black light. The Cadaverous King and the Demon Witch King followed suit. The retreat of the three Other Kings caused the horde of Others to recede like the tide.
The exhausted soldiers collapsed, venting their emotions for having survived this dire calamity. All of them had thought that the end was nigh and the Xia Kingdom was about to be devastated. They would never have dared to imagine that their darkest moments would end like this.
As the sun began to set in the west, it lit up the bloodstained and ruined lands.
The numerous powers began to clean up the battlefield before retreating to rest.
In the distance, Jiang Qing'e and Li Luo settled the affairs of the Five Guardian Armies. They then made their way onto the mottled walls of the City of Southwind, where their old friends awaited.
"Li Luo!" Yu Lang excitedly bounced forward with eyes full of hot tears.
Li Luo waved his hand nonchalantly as he said in a serene and deep voice, "There's no need for words of gratitude. You can just kneel down to thank me."
Yu Lang immediately jumped up and blurted out the first words that came to mind. "Fu*k you!"
