Absolute Beast Dominion
Chapter 788 Countess
Chapter 788: Countess
"What? No way..." Uraan stared at the commotion unfolding on his phone and muttered in disbelief.
"If the Ancient Savage Beast had been moving along with his territory, it would have been forced to change its path, if not killed at Leo’s hands..."
"I should check it out myself." With that, Uraan summoned his falcon and headed straight towards the original location of Leo’s territory.
Other students who knew Leo personally had similar reactions, especially since Lily and Kaelion were also in the territory.
Meanwhile, Jialou and his men had successfully climbed onto Howl’s back while the beast sat on the ground to rest.
However, more than 9 hours had passed since Howl sat down, meaning it was already late at night. They had set up their camp on the periphery, just outside the outermost wall and near one of the four cardinal towers, where the stationed elf could keep an eye on them.
They did this to avoid being mistaken for intruders.
"We managed to climb up, so we should be eligible for a meeting, right?" one of the subordinates asked, struggling to swallow a piece of dried jerky.
The person next to him passed him a leather bag filled with water to help him swallow.
"It should be. We should wait until morning," Alena said while filling her cup with water using her magic.
It turned out that she had awakened with a water affinity.
"B-but, Leader... What are the chances that this Ancient Savage Beast is tamed?" one of the subordinates asked.
Hearing that, Jialou’s face darkened.
"Pretty high..."
They were talking about Leo. Anything was possible with him.
After that, they took turns sleeping and resting. It would have been different if they had entered through the wall, but staying outside meant they were still vulnerable to wild-beast attacks. A watch was necessary.
In the morning, the outer walls parted automatically to let them in.
Although they still hadn’t slept enough and hadn’t eaten yet, attending the meeting was more important.
After quickly freshening up and checking their appearances, they made their way inside.
A seating area with chairs and tables had already been set up overnight, and a few maids welcomed them and invited them to sit.
"Our lord has asked that you all have a good breakfast before the meeting," one of the maids informed them.
With that, the maids began setting the table, placing dishes one after another. The restaurant had prepared the food.
Jialou and the others’ mouths watered at the sight and smell of the various delicacies, especially the juicy meat served alongside green vegetables.
"T-then we won’t be polite," Jialou said, already walking.
Since they had rushed over without breakfast, they quickly sat down and ate until they were full and satisfied.
"Eat slowly, idiot! You’re not at home," Alena quietly scolded Jialou for eating like a starved beast.
"Sorry... It’s just too delicious," Jialou apologised.
After they finished eating and waited calmly for someone to tell them what to do next, someone approached them.
"Sir, Lady Lily is already waiting for you inside the outer area guest house," the maid said calmly.
"Outer...?" Jialou muttered, looking around as if this wasn’t already the outer area.
"Sir, this is the commercial area under construction. Beyond this lies the outer area," the maid explained, gesturing towards the outer area walls, which had once again parted to allow passage.
"Oh, alright..."
Jialou and Alena looked at each other and nodded. They were ready for the meeting.
However, the same wasn’t true of their subordinates, who swallowed nervously.
"Crap... Miss Lily?"
"Shut up! She’s a Countess now!" Jialou reminded them, making it clear they were supposed to address her that way.
"No way she’s a member of Sir Leo’s territory!"
"Idiot! Were you blind yesterday?! She was the one sitting on the savage beast’s head!"
"It was her! I thought..."
"We’re dead..."
The general public didn’t know about Lily and Leo’s relationship, so they had no idea the two would be living in the same territory. And because they kept a low profile, it was even harder to find out.
Now, even the few female subordinates were beginning to feel nervous, just like the nearly frightened boys.
It was one thing to admire people like Lily from afar, but meeting them in person never brought anything good.
Heck, even Leo was similarly dangerous, though considerably less so than Lily.
Everyone already knew how Leo had ripped an idiot’s head off after the fool challenged him to a deathmatch right after admission.
Despite all that, they reached the guest house, where Lily sat calmly on a chair behind a table, sipping tea made from Titanbreath Lotus leaves.
Knock, knock.
"Lady Lily, I have brought them," the maid announced from outside.
"Let them in."
Jialou and the others quickly entered.
"Sit."
She gestured for Jialou and Alena to sit in the two chairs in front of the table. Although there were many more chairs around the room, the subordinates didn’t dare sit.
After exchanging greetings, Lily spoke.
"Make yourselves comfortable," she said, gesturing towards the tea placed in front of Jialou and Alena.
"T-this..." Jialou’s eyes widened as he sipped the tea.
"It has body-strengthening properties!" he muttered under his breath as warmth spread through his body.
When they finished their tea, the nearby maid refilled their cups.
"So? Shall we begin?"
Alena nodded and quickly set her cup down, even though she didn’t want to. Jialou also reluctantly followed suit.
The tea was simply too good to pass up, especially with its sweet taste. It was otherworldly.
"Countess Lily, we have come here to join the territory," Alena said.
"I can see that. And you’ve proven your sincerity through the gifts you provided. But that’s that. Now..." Lily tapped her fingers on the table.
"What abilities do you possess that would make you useful?" Lily asked.
"Countess, I’m good at administrative work, while Jialou has studied and is capable of teaching various kinds of weapons. He’s also achieved great mastery in all of them."
Lily narrowed her eyes. She noticed Alena wasn’t listing their strength levels like most others. Instead, they were highlighting their actual capabilities.
And to be honest, Alena’s approach was really good. Listing their strength levels wouldn’t accomplish anything when Lily could simply sense them herself.
Lily nodded and turned towards Jialou.
"What kinds of weapons have you mastered, and what are your mastery levels and techniques?"
