Absolute Beast Dominion
Chapter 784: Sleeping Beast Awakens
Chapter 784: Sleeping Beast Awakens
The first thing to do was obviously to fill the newly expanded area with plants and trees.
Even that took more than 2 days, as Leo needed to personally inspect some good energy-absorbing treasure plants.
During that time, the territory members got used to the new terrain and began familiarising themselves with the beasts that had always been hidden from them.
"W-why are Mister’s beasts so cold?" Aina grumbled when she once again failed to get any reaction from Shyra and Nyxa.
Only Niri and Howl’s Avatar interacted with them nicely.
Even though Howl had no mouth to speak or face to express himself, his patient, gentle nature easily put people at ease. They often asked him to do heavy lifting, like moving tree trunks and large rocks needed for construction.
Shyra, on the other hand, had a rather aloof, cold demeanour that discouraged anyone from approaching her with questions. She interacted nicely only with Leo, Lily, James, Sera, and a few elves.
Similarly, Nyxa spent her time doing whatever she wanted, only helping out occasionally when people needed to venture out and bring back specific things.
Agnivar was already out hunting, possibly to bring back a new Wyvern, while Ashira helped out and interacted with everyone wherever she was needed.
Zelut, as usual, was busy underground with his men, doing the usual shady stuffs—only coming out when necessary.
The most interesting one was Kazz, the kobold tame. Surprisingly, even without Leo actively helping him, he had reached the High 1-Star stage, and his spearmanship had developed so much that he could now go toe-to-toe with Thalvyr’s son, Arkvyr.
Leo concluded that it was the effect of his 10-Star Primordial Beast Taming talent.
Though Kazz was still scared shitless of Leo and always tried to escape his proximity, and if escaping wasn’t an option, playing dead always was.
"I will soon start bestowing some talents on him once his natural skills develop further," Leo decided.
He still needed to tame the spatial-affinity spider, but first he needed to strengthen his soul by learning more Soul Technique so his beast’s advancement wouldn’t be obstructed.
Thankfully, Gunther had already called him for the next stage of his training. To his surprise, it involved telekinesis training.
Or rather, telekinesis was the main focus. Gunther also planned to increase Leo’s proficiency in his other skills.
Another 2 days passed as they built new structures, fixed the power supply arrays, rested, and planned their future course of action.
Today, it was finally time for Howl to start moving.
"Everyone, attention!"
Suddenly, Leo’s voice echoed across the territory from the sky, where he floated.
He had enhanced his speech by infusing it with the essence of Howl’s [Scream] skill.
It was early morning, so everyone was present. Leo had already shut down the Teleportation Array, ensuring that no outsiders were present.
"Today, we will start relocating our territory, so there might be slight tremors throughout the area. There is nothing to fear. Everything is under control. Though I suggest postponing any work that requires delicate handling."
Leo was referring to Veronica and the Gnomes.
"I also advise everybody to stay within the boundaries and absolutely prohibit anyone from remaining at the edge of the mound."
"Eh? Relocating?" Everybody was immediately confused, while those who knew about Howl grew serious.
This included Kaelion, Miho, Thalvyr, and Sylrael. Lily was the only one, besides Leo, who was excited.
At that moment, a notification appeared on everyone’s phone, marking Leo’s territory as ’Migrating’.
The ’Migrating’ status turned the territory icon black in the Aurelius Hall. This mark was special because it didn’t track the path along which the territory was moving. In other words, if the territory beacon started moving away from a location, the black marker would remain stationary.
Only after the beacon had remained in one place for a day would the marker jump to the new location and show where the beacon was.
Even then, the marker would remain black. Only when the beacon had been placed at a location for 5 consecutive days would the black colour return to normal, signifying that the migration had ended.
This meant Howl couldn’t rest at any one location for more than 5 days until he reached the wasteland.
Yes, Leo had decided to head for the wastelands.
"Howl... Rise."
Deep inside a dim, hollow cave the territory members had never visited, a huge eye slowly opened.
"Hooouuuuuuuu~"
Grumble...
Everyone’s chest tightened, and every muscle stiffened.
"W-what?" Brok immediately summoned his eagle and flew into the sky. What he saw left his eyes wide open.
The entire 2-kilometre-wide mound had started to rise. Suddenly, his eagle went into a frenzy, struggling to stay airborne.
Brok was shocked to see that the beast was scared out of its wits.
He somehow managed to fly to Leo’s location and watched him calmly observing the scene.
"B-boss! Are you planning to lift the whole mound and relocate it? Did you find a better place for us to live?" Brok asked, still bewildered.
He also wanted to ask what that dangerous presence was, the one that sent a chill down his spine and made even his strongest beast panic. However, he reasoned that it must be Leo using his powers.
"Me?" Leo’s lips curled into a smile.
"No, it’s my beast who will relocate."
"Huh?"
At that moment—
HOOOOONNNGGGG!!
Every hair on Brok’s body stood on end as his Skyrend Eagle stopped flapping, froze in place, and began to fall.
Leo simply waved his hand, using wind to support both Brok and the beast in midair.
At that moment, Brok saw it.
A colossal head slowly rose from beneath the soil, cracking the surrounding ground as huge—absolutely huge—folded legs began to unfurl.
Brok’s body immediately began to shiver with fear as he watched the scene unfold.
But things were entirely different for the people on Howl’s back.
They were simply confused because the process was rather smooth for them. There was barely any shaking, only low vibrations, as they felt themselves rising higher above the ground.
The people had already recovered from the initial shock of the ground shaking and the unknown aura Howl had involuntarily released after exerting himself for the first time in such a long while.
"Is Lord Leo expanding the territory again?" one elf asked.
"Maybe he’s increasing its height? Look! Those tall trees are going down."
"But he said relocating... Don’t tell me he’s relocating the whole mound!"
Hearing the elf’s words, the people around her were amazed, while some shook their heads in disbelief.
"No way..."
"Hey, look! Lord’s golem beast... Is something wrong with it?" One maid, who had grown attached to the golem after interacting with it over the past few days, asked anxiously and pointed at Howl’s Avatar, which had shut itself down.
On the plateau, Bigfoot had already prostrated himself, completely submitting to Howl.
