Chapter 719: Chapter 719: 3 Flags And Lily's Lost Opportunity - 1

  • Next Chapter

Leo and Lily were riding Agnivar through the night sky and approaching a flag location when, even from a distance, they could tell an intense fight was going on.

And somehow, it was two different Dragon academies fighting each other.

Leo focused a bit and checked which academies they belonged to.

They were Zerathyr and Vyrmora Academies, 3rd and 4th respectively.

Both sides were spewing different coloured flames.

Zerathyr was yellow, and Vyrmora was blue.

From what Leo knew, yellow flame was mana-efficient and extremely hot.

As for the blue flame, it was considered a much more penetrative sort of flame that dealt serious damage to defences and brought the enemy down.

Leo also observed that the flag region was covered in sand, and a huge Worm beast—almost 150 meters tall, with a mouth having a diameter of almost 10 meters—was lying dead and burnt all over.

As for the flag capture timer, it was frozen at 00:40:21.

That meant the attacking academy had chosen the perfect time to ambush them: when only a small amount of time remained and the starting team might have exhausted themselves fighting the Worm beast.

But Leo noticed another thing…

There were actually just two dragons engaged in aerial combat in their dragon forms. As for the rest, 1 of the blue flame dragons was in humanoid form, flying with its wings and tackling two yellow flame humanoid dragons with wings.

The rest were fighting on foot, and they didn't even have proper tails on them. The only distinctive features were their coloured horns.

"Should we intervene?" Leo asked.

Lily shook her head.

"But the timer will reset, right?"

Leo nodded and then shrugged.

"So what? At least we will prevent two dragon academies from advancing. Who knows? They might not have even captured a single flag yet."

Lily nodded enthusiastically.

"Even the core of the Worm beast could be used by any of our beasts."

Both Dragon academies immediately sensed the foreign presence of another draconic being and created distance.

"Who?!"

"There! It's a Wyvern!"

They were just about to relax when suddenly, one of the yellow flame dragons in his beast form rapidly descended and landed in front of his men, who looked like normal humans except for their horns.

Twip—Slash!

A crisp sound of something slashing across the dragon's scales rang out.

Something sharp had just hit the dragon, pulverising the scales on his side.

"IDIOTS! PAY ATTENTION!" The dragon roared and tried to fly away, but the damage was actually greater than he had expected.

The moment he tried flapping his wings, the scales split apart and blood gushed out, making him groan when the sharp sting hit.

"Arrghh!"

Yellow-Flame Dragon [Fyranth] (Low 4-star) - Super Bloodline [Intelligence - Adolescent]

"Lord Fyranth!!" the other people shouted and ran towards him, but at that time, Fyranth sensed the same attacks coming towards them with the same intensity.

"EVERYBODY DODGE!"

Fyranth forced his wings to flap and flew high while also holding a few men in his legs, while those that had wings flew up themselves.

The blue dragons were no less prepared. They also immediately dodged, but two unlucky foot dragons from both academies were sliced and teleported away—disappearing in white particles.

Leo was calmly sitting on Agnivar's back and assessing their strengths.

"Low 4, barely reaching Low 4, Pseudo 4, Pseudo 4, another barely reaching Pseudo 4, Peak 3, High 3, High 3, Mid 3, Mid 3… Eh? Is that Pseudo 3?"

Leo was baffled.

With how, in Ember City, Vulcarion, Pyrotrax and Ignivorax had been cursing him, Leo thought that dragons might be a good challenge, but what was this?

"Maybe they are not all…?" Leo tried reasoning, since the Azirith Dragon Academy, where Pyrotrax and Ignivorax were from, had a good fighting force with five 4-star dragons.

"It might also be the case that, like human academies, only the top 3 are good?" Leo tried throwing another reason.

Lily, who was throwing out the wind blades, paused for a second.

"I doubt that. The Dragon academies seem to be based on colours, unlike humans, where elites choose to go to top academies. I think in dragons, even a talented one might be forced to go to a lower academy based on their type of flame."

Leo nodded slowly. That made sense.

"Well, we will see that later. Let's focus and throw them out of the flag region."

While Agnivar was descending down, Leo also cleared another query with Agnivar.

"Agni, why do these dragons seem smaller in size than you even when you are a Wyvern—technically a lower category of draconic being?"

Leo asked because their largest dragons, even Pyrotrax and Ignivorax, who were Mid 4-star while being 17 meters long and 6 meters tall, were smaller in comparison to Agnivar, who was Low 4-star, 18 meters long, and stood almost 8 meters tall.

Though Agni's taller frame could be excused by the fact that he was bipedal, he was still longer.

"Lord, it must be our age. You said the students aged below 30 are here. They are still children. I am actually around 60 years old," Agnivar informed.

"What?!" Lily was shocked by the revelation.

"Isn't Ashira like 21 years old and you met her almost 10 years ago?"

Agnivar panicked slightly, making the flight a bit unbalanced, but he collected himself quickly.

"M-My Lady, I just kept her safe! I promise I didn't harm her or anything!" Agni also wanted to inform Lily about how even a century of age gap in draconic beings was rather common and the gap only widened in later ages, but refrained from it because Ashira was actually really young.

Almost as if He had communicated with Ashira through the mind link, her voice came into Leo and Lily's heads.

"My Lady! Agni is a good man! He kept me safe from those bad brothers and sisters who used to torment me before I was taken in by him."

Lily looked at Agnivar with a scrutinizing gaze, only to look towards the dragons again, who were waiting for them.

"I will talk to you later."

Agnivar just responded with a nod, not even daring to speak. Though internally, he was cursing Leo for not asking the question privately through the mental link, and the curses only flowed out naturally when he realised Leo had already jumped off his back after knowing what he needed, only to trap him with Lily.

The next moment, even Lily flew away. They had two Dragon academies to deal with.
