Chapter 402: Looks Improvements? (Slight R18) [Bonus 1/2]

“But didn’t Brother James become the official Baron of the territory?” Leo asked.

Lily shifted slightly in his embrace and reached up, her cheeks brushing against his face.

“Yes, but I also know him and Sister Sera wouldn’t be happy for long in that situation. I’ve been around them for a few years, and they want to travel the world like us too. But…” Lily trailed off, her voice softening.

She didn’t finish, but the reason was obvious—James’s lower strength.

Now that Leo thought about it, the highest-ranked individual in any city led by a Baron was only a Peak 2-star, or a tier higher in rare cases. That was simply inadequate in this beast-infested world, where danger lurked at every corner.

He thought 2-star was more than enough to protect himself nd his loved ones because of the safe environment in the city, as there was a time when he had to stay low because of a 2-star individual–Zerek.

And now, he could handle as many of them as he could find.

“And I also know for a fact that Brother James only took on the mantle of Official Baron to ensure Sister Sera’s safety. So if he ever finds a much more secure and reliable place, he’d just make Butler Vintage the new Baron and leave.”

“And…”

“And?” Leo prompted, tightening his hold slightly.

“You value loyalty, right? Aren’t they the perfect candidates? Brother James protected me all those days, and he even stood up for you during our weakest times. I’m sure they would remain completely trustworthy even in the future,” she said earnestly.

“There’s also another reason…” Her voice grew quieter. “It’s what I want—to repay the kindness they showed me back in the city. Letting them live on Howl’s back, where you and I—who rose to Mid 4-star individuals—reside, is many times better than leaving them alone on the outskirts, where a beast could trample their lives at any moment.”

Lily’s eyes turned distant, as if recalling something long buried.

“I used to think a beast capable of razing a city in a single step was just a myth—an exaggerated story meant to scare us and keep us in check under Beast Masters who supposedly controlled such creatures.”

She paused, exhaling softly.

“But in these past few months, what I’ve seen is more than enough to make me believe it. Because apparently… we’re living on top of such a beast ourselves.”

Lily chuckled, her warm breath brushing against his face.

“So? What do you say?” she asked at last.

Leo let out a small laugh.

“Like… isn’t it obvious? Of course we need more people like Brother James and Sister Sera in our territory. And I already miss her cooking. To be honest, I was getting bored with yours, so—”

He stopped as Lily’s expression visibly soured, her lips tightening as if already regretting bringing up this topic.

“Haha, I was joking. You’re the best cook in the world for me—always will be,” Leo added with a laugh, pulling her closer and kissing her cheek.

After spending so much time in Sera’s restaurant and helping her, Lily’s cooking had already reached a similar level. She knew he was teasing.

“Hmph!” she huffed, turning her head away haughtily, though her legs still wrapped around his beneath the blanket.

While moving her legs, her soft thighs brushed against something hard, making Leo flinch.

Her haughty expression melted into a mischievous smile as she glanced at him, while he pretended ignorance.

“You… how long have you been holding back?”

“Hm? I don’t know what you are talking about.” Though Leo said that, Lily could feel his thing getting bigger and harder against her.

She giggled playfully and shifted her position, putting her one hand under his neck to hug him snugly and the other over his chest that started to slowly trail down while fingers tracing the contours of his defined muscles.

“I applaud your gentlemanly behavior… looks like I need to give you a reward, right?” she whispered sultrily into his ear.

Her hand finally reached its destination beneath his pants, and her fingers gently wrapped around his thick shaft, then proceeding to gently stroke it back and forth with extreme care and soft movements.

Leo exhaled sharply, a low groan escaping his lips at her touch and intoxicating voice, finally surrendering himself completely to his one and only lovely lady.

The next morning, they woke up feeling completely refreshed. Apparently, they had even gone to their private pool for a bath—and had quite a lot of ’fun’ there as well.

“Leo… why do you look taller?” Lily asked, standing in front of him and rising on her toes to compare.

“Wait… you did grow around 1 inch. How did I never notice?” she murmured, circling him curiously, her gaze scanning his body for any changes.

Her eyes finally settled on his face. Without hesitation, she cupped it and pulled him down slightly for a closer look.

“Hm! Your skin has gotten better too. What is happening?”

She was right. Leo’s original height of 6’4″ had now become 6’6″. Lily had miscalculated because—

Leo suddenly grabbed both her hands and pressed them gently against the wooden wall behind her. Taking a step back while still holding both her wrists, he gave her a proper look.

“Why are you only noticing me? Aren’t you the same? Look—you’ve grown an inch too.”

“Eh?” Lily blinked, startled, before quickly pulling out a measuring tape.

“Oh my god, Leo! You’re right! I grew 1 inch taller! That means you grew 2!” she exclaimed excitedly.

Lily now stood at 5’7″.

Leo nodded in agreement, but his gaze slowly drifted downward—toward her bosom.

“Not only your height, but your—!”

Before he could finish, Lily quickly covered his mouth.

“Pervert…”

“Only for you,” Leo laughed.

“But really, why are we still growing even after passing that age?” Lily asked, tilting her head.

“I read in a book recently—one that suddenly became readable to me—that as people approach 5-star, their body structure and appearance begin to improve. So I guess that’s what’s happening.”

Lily nodded repeatedly, her face lighting up with excitement.

“That’s such good news!” she said cheerfully. For a yound lady like her, there was hardly better news than naturally becoming more beautiful.

Just like that, the day passed quickly.

Tavian finished his work in the afternoon and departed for his territory to rest, promising to return an hour before the bounty began.

Sylrael remained busy organizing preparations, instructing elves and others. She didn’t even leave the 1-star elves idle, ensuring they were assigned to operate arrow traps—making them useful in Leo’s eyes.

Veronica personally provided potions at a discounted price to Leo and the others. Leo then distributed them among the elves in case they needed them.

Though Veronica insisted she would provide potions for free during attacks, Leo still paid her—it wasn’t a real crisis yet.

And just like that, only 2 hours remained before the bounty began.
