Chapter 390: Thunder-Crest Elk Antler
“Pfft—HAHAHAHA!” Leo suddenly burst out laughing as he turned to look at Kaelion.
Kaelion’s light purple hair stood upright like sharp spikes, and with its longer length, the overall look was undeniably ridiculous.
“What are you laughing at? Look at yourself, you bastard,” Kaelion sneered.
“I know very well that I look a lot better than you, hahahaha.”
Buzz—
Their bickering came to an abrupt halt as a sharp buzzing sound filled the air the moment they reached the antler’s location.
Both of their eyes widened as their gazes fell upon the long, branched antlers resting within a crater formed by repeated lightning strikes.
The previously dim, whitish-blue glow had transformed into a brilliant white radiance with a faint blue tint. Tiny bluish arcs of lightning crawled across the antler’s frame, crackling softly and producing the constant buzzing sound. It looked volatile—on the verge of overcharging at any moment.
Thunder-Crest Elk Antler: Low Purple-tier Treasure -> Low Orange-tier Treasure
—A naturally shed antler from a Thunderhide Elk that matured into a female after reaching Low 3-stars. Saturated heavily with thunder elemental energy, it is prized for forging weapons, conductive gear, and high-grade alchemical reagents. This antler instinctively attracts lightning during storms, absorbing massive amounts of electrical power, and—when processed correctly—can function as a stable, high-output energy source.
—The antler has been subjected to an intense lightning strike by a king-tier spirit beast, Nimbus Tyrant, and has successfully absorbed its essence. This essence can be used to enhance the bloodline and strength of a beast or being compatible with the stored essence. A highly valued treasure for beings with wind and lightning affinity.
After reading the description, the first person Leo thought of was Brant, but Brant already had a beast with a royal bloodline who would have needed it so he discarded the idea.
Next was Lily. The Windbreath Hound possessed both wind and lightning affinity, but its bloodline was stuck at 66% of Noble tier. This antler would surely push it into the royal realm.
The last option was Kaelion. He had just acquired the Thunderveil Skyreaver, a noble bloodline beast. Leo couldn’t help but regret not upgrading the Skyreaver’s bloodline before Lily summoned it—otherwise, Kaelion might have obtained a Royal beast.
But it was what it was.
And his priority was already decided.
Lily.
Sorry, K… but Lily is more important to me, Leo apologised inwardly, knowing Kaelion wouldm’t actually realize why he was apologising.
But the moment Leo tried to grab the antler—
Crackle—Spark!
He instantly recoiled, stepping back as a sharp jolt surged through his arm. He clutched his hand tightly; the skin was slightly burnt.
He shook it once, but his arm felt oddly limp.
“Damn… it actually numbed my arm…” Leo muttered, frowning. For a moment, he even suspected it was paralysed.
Kaelion’s eyes narrowed as he observed the antler carefully.
“This treasure has become dangerous… unlike the vitality-rich petal that positively affects its surroundings, this lightning is actively damaging.”
He glanced at Leo.
“We’ll need a professional of a similar rank as the antler to handle it safely. Otherwise, if we try, we’ll get shocked. In the worst case, we might even die… though we’ll be transported to the temple first.”
Leo’s expression turned contemplative.
A Low Orange-tier treasure would require at least a Low 6-star professional. And the only one he knew at that level was Vice Principal Tarun.
“What if we leave it here?” Leo asked.
“Then we’ll need to mark this area as restricted. I doubt even a 2-star being could enter a 50 meter radius without collapsing from paralysis.”
Leo nodded slowly.
I’ll see if Lunaria can absorb the essence from a distance…
They left the antler where it was and departed to inform the others. Naelith was assigned to establish the restricted zone.
Time passed as they chatted casually while Miho prepared breakfast, the faint aroma of food drifting through the air. Tavian had already begun setting up an array, and Lily had left with Sylrael to gather materials for arrow crafting.
After eating, Leo searched for a suitable place atop the plateau to dump the arrows for the elves to use in reconstructing traps. He also distributed some to the 6 1-star elves, instructing them to spread traps across the territory.
While he was in the middle of this, Virat’s shout rang out. Moments later, a bright flame signal shot into the sky—Naelith’s warning of an incoming territory attack.
Not even a minute later, Leo’s phone buzzed.
Ting!
>Wild beasts have attacked the territory. Kill or drive them away to keep your territory rights intact!
It seemed that the territory beacon was a lot slower in sending a warning than the territory members.
The territory immediately shifted into high alert. The weaker individuals, like Veronica and the 6 elves, retreated into the newly constructed bunker, while the main fighting force formed a tight encirclement around the territory.
With Lily, Sylrael, and Brok absent, the danger had risen significantly.
But when Leo climbed atop the Titanbreath Lotus and looked around, he let out a faint sigh—almost bored.
Mirecoil Burrower (High 2-star) — Mortal Bloodline
It was a thick, mud-coated worm with ridged segments slithered through the wet forest floor, sludge dripping from its body as it silently approached an unaware elf.
*pic*
Leo tapped into the mind link and alerted her. She reacted instantly, loosing an arrow infused with wind energy. It was quickly followed by a barrage from other elves stationed across different points
.
Within seconds, the worm was riddled with arrows and collapsed, lifeless. Some of the stronger wind-infused shots pierced straight through its body.
Leo frowned slightly.
Using arrows made things too easy—especially with the elves’ flawless coordination and support. If they handled everything, he wouldn’t get to observe how Virat and the other three girls performed.
“Alright, no more using arrows by anyone having strength higher than Peak 2-star,” Leo said through the link.
“Form a tight encirclement around the territory and prevent the worms from entering using your abilities. Use wind gusts to push them away or vines for area control—but don’t kill them. I want to see how the others perform.”
The elves obeyed immediately, shifting to a passive stance. They maintained control of the perimeter while leaving the offence to Virat, Aina, Sylva, Mira and 4 elves whose strength level was in the 2-star realm.
Bigfoot, unwilling to be left out, summoned his Python.
Leo raised a brow, pleasantly surprised.
The Python had advanced by one minor rank.
