Chapter 304: Hydra – 1

“So it’s final that we will bring in slaves?”

“Yes!” Lily responded enthusiastically before she directly jumped to the main topic.

“Help me tame the Hydra.”

At her words, Leo nodded.

The time was 3 PM, so there was still plenty of time.

“Let’s move away a considerable distance from the territory. I don’t want it to destroy what we have built till now.” He turned towards Leon.

“You will also come. In case the hydra doesn’t want to be tamed and rebels, you will help me subdue it till Lily manages to tame it.”

Leon was confused.

“Did you find a hydra near our territory?”

Leo looked at Leon blankly, then realised that he didn’t know about Lily’s talent. The same was for Miho. Only Lily had two spirit beasts tamed, thinking she had only spirit beasts in her arsenal.

Leo smirked.

“You will understand, but first come with us.”

At that time, Lily spoke with Miho.

“Miho, you stay here and alert the territory members not to wander out if they see or hear any large beast.”

Miho nodded, understanding that she was weak and would not be able to handle whatever they were going to do.

With that, they departed nearly 1 Kilometer away from the territory. They were surprised to see so many beasts in the vicinity. According to the system prompts, all were ranged from mid-2-star beasts to Pseudo-3-star. But the moment they spotted the large 10-meter-tall lion walking behind the group, they retreated or better to say, ran away completely panicked.

The Beasts were already cautious with the already established Druid’s territory previously, but now even a Peak 3-star Lion appeared out of nowhere, who was on the verge of breaking through Pseudo 4-star. They had already made up their mind to escape from the region itself.

The group located a nice location with tall trees and a clear view. Lily used Wind blades to slice down the trees and make a clearing nearly 100 meters in diameter. Leo was shocked since her one attack nearly travelled 100 meters. It would have been normal if it were empty space with no construction, but Lily sliced and diced thick trees like paper.

“Peak 3-star?!” Leon blurted out after he tried sensing Lily’s strength.

Leon himself had broken into peak 3-star stat range the previous day after absorbing the treasure and was waiting for Singham to break through Pseudo 4-star to unlock the 4-star realm and then continue absorbing the rest of the treasure. But Lily directly jumped from Mid-3-star level to Peak 3-star in the span of 10 days. It was simply impossble made possible. It took Leon nearly 5 years to do that–partly because of his horrid soul condition, but it was still unimaginable.

Lily gave a smug look to Leon, as if she had already made up her mind to claim the 2nd position beside Leo. A shiver ran down Leon’s spine as he thought of the moment Lily would be stronger than him. At that point in time, he would really be treading across thin ice, one slip and an hour-long torture.

Though he could no longer sense Leo’s strength, he could tell he had become stronger. So, he must have consumed the treasure given to him and not given it to Lily. Which meant Lily had only the total of 250 stats with her to absorb in her body.

But according to Leon’s experience, it was simply impossible to absorb all 250, not to mention so quickly–within 10 days.

How the hell did she gain so much strength with only that much stat boosting treasure?! He was totally confused.

But before he could spiral down into thought, Lily took out the hydra beastcore from the spatial ring given as a reward. Though it wasn’t mentioned in the reward list, a spatial ring was a default reward to keep the other rewards. So now, Leon and Lily carried 2 rings for each and Leo only one since he hadn’t bought any previously due to his spiritual space.

Shaking his head out of the thoughts, Leon asked.

“Yeah, I was wondering what use you would have of a Low 5-star Hydra beast core given by the academy. Is it to lure a hydra that lives around here?” Leon cast a cautious glance around the clearing but found or sensed nothing.

“You will see. Lily, do it.”

She nodded as she firmly held the beastcore in both of her hands. She winced slightly as the aura emanating from the core damaged her skin. The poison was the main element doing the harm.

Leon frowned.

“What–!” His voice was cut off as the bluish-purple core started to glow.

Mana: 32,800 -> 15,300

What the hell? 17,500 mana units at once?

This simply meant that the cost of maintaining this spirit per-minute will be 17,500 mana units.

Leon’s expression hardened when he sensed the rapidly strengthening aura surrounding Lily. Three elemental energies surged around Lily.

Blue, dense purple and brown.

The energies started to swirl and revolve in a sphere around her. Her eyes were closed in concentration, hair and clothes fluttering as they moved through pure magical disturbance.

But with a few seconds, the brownish elemental energy died, with only the watery blue and the poisonous purple remaining.

Her hands were severely damaged, with red blisters and the blackish, corroding material coating the blisters.

Leon’s eyes widened as the core in her hand started to slowly sublimate in wispy particles of the same elemental colours that moved through the air–like a glittering streak of shooting star.

They floated in the air as if looking for a proper place, then just 50 meters away in the clearing, the particles started to settle.

Lily finally opened her eyes with sweat all over her forehead. The next moment, she used the healing skill to repair her damaged hands. But when the poison still remained, Leo moved and used his healing skill to negate the effects of the poison.

He also tried on something that he had been curious about. He took her hand and clasped it tightly.

Lily was confused at first, but the next moment she felt a surge of mana flow through Leo’s body and replenish her more than half-empty reserves.

Lily’s Mana: 15,300 / 32,800 -> 32,800 / 32,800

Leo’s Mana: 178,200 / 178,200-> 160,700 / 178,200

“What the fuck happened?!” Leon exclaimed with widened eyes as he pointed at a 20-meter-tall figure slowly taking shape in front of them. With a extra long neck that made it nearly 25 to 30 meters.
