Chapter 83: Chapter 82: No. 1 Deep Flow Street

"Feather Fall Skill..." Gaode had obtained information on a new 1st Ring Magic.

At the same time, he realized why this magic necklace had been damaged in such a bizarre way. Every other part of it was completely intact; only the central gemstone had been cleanly split in half. It was hard to imagine what could have caused such specific damage. Surely, it couldn’t have been some assassin trying to stab Ms. Jelica with a dagger, only for the blade to melodramatically strike the gemstone instead?

Truthfully, the moment he first saw the necklace, he wanted to ask how it ended up in such a state. However, since it involved a client’s privacy, Gaode wisely suppressed his curiosity and maintained professional boundaries. Now, everything made sense. The gemstone was ruined because the necklace’s automatic trigger magic had been activated.

"In that case, Ms. Jelica must have fallen from a great height not too long ago..." Gaode muttered, stroking his chin. Recalling the lingering, faint melancholy in Jelica’s beautiful eyes, his mind instantly concocted eighteen different melodramatic scenarios.

"Looking at it this way, my 15 Gold Coins repair fee doesn’t seem high at all," he murmured.

Generally speaking, it was reasonable to charge ten percent of an Extraordinary item’s intrinsic value for repairs. Under normal circumstances, a 1st Ring Alchemy Creation was worth around 65 Gold Coins. But this necklace was different.

The attached 1st Ring Magic, Feather Fall Skill, was merely a bonus. What truly mattered was its Mild Magic Gathering and Energy Storage Effect. This term might seem a bit hard to understand, but in simple terms, it meant the item came with its own Spirit Gathering Array, making it a 1st Ring Extraordinary item meant to aid in cultivation. Extraordinary items of this type fetched prices far higher than others of the same tier. Even just at the 1st Ring tier, it could sell for upwards of 200 Gold Coins.

Factoring in the intrinsic value of the gemstone itself and the attached one-time "lifesaving" magic, this necklace was nearly on par with a 2nd Ring Extraordinary item, capable of fetching an astronomical price of 300 Gold Coins.

He thought enviously, "She isn’t wearing a necklace around her neck; she’s wearing an entire Medicinal Garden!"

The next day, the 10th of the Sunlight Moon.

Gaode’s pocket watch showed it was only eight-thirty in the morning. He was still enjoying his simple breakfast—a homemade onion and mashed potato pancake paired with a cup of black tea—when a sudden KNOCK KNOCK sounded at the door.

He had to pause his meal, grab a wet towel to wipe his mouth, and put away the unfinished pancake before finally walking over and opening the door.

The person knocking was none other than the young and beautiful Ms. Jelica. Compared to a week ago, she looked much better today, and the melancholy in her eyes had completely vanished.

"Master Google..." Jelica looked at Gaode, her eyes filled with anticipation yet tinged with a hint of nervousness.

"Mission accomplished," Gaode said. He had already guessed that she would be the one at the door, and knowing how anxious she was, he got straight to the point to "report" the good news. He stepped sideways, making room for her. "Come on in."

Jelica’s expression grew visibly excited.

"Sri Lanka black tea again?" Gaode asked as he guided her to the reception area.

Jelica nodded. Gaode walked into the kitchen, skillfully brewed two cups of black tea, and returned to the reception area. While she took a polite sip, Gaode smiled, retrieved the necklace from his inner pocket, and handed it to her. Naturally, something so valuable could only give him peace of mind if he carried it on his person.

"Take a look."

The moment she laid eyes on the necklace, Jelica’s eyes widened. Even though Gaode had already told her at the door that the repair was finished, she never could have imagined it would be this flawless. There wasn’t a single blemish; it was impossible to tell that it had ever been damaged.

She took the necklace and focused her Spiritual Power to inspect the Extraordinary Power within it. Soon, obvious joy and astonishment surfaced on her face.

"Master Google, your craftsmanship far exceeds my expectations.

"I apologize for doubting you at first because of your youth."

Gaode smiled. "It’s fine. You aren’t the first person to have such thoughts, and you won’t be the last."

"Compared to your skills, your age truly is quite young," Jelica sighed with admiration. "I think that in the entire city of Bremen, apart from you, there isn’t a second Repair Craftsman who could have restored my Lake Heart this perfectly."

Gaode dropped the false modesty and said with a touch of reserved pride, "If you or your friends have any Extraordinary Items that need repairing in the future, you can always come to me. Generally speaking, Extraordinary Items at or below the 1st Ring won’t pose a problem for me."

"Of course!" Jelica promised. Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she hurriedly reached into her side pocket and pulled out an exquisite, sky-blue coin pouch stitched from soft, delicate lambskin.

She untied the pouch’s drawstrings. Gaode noticed that a miniature silver badge was tied to the end of each slender silk cord. The design of the badge looked incredibly familiar to him—engraved right in the center was a bird spreading its wings, ready to take flight.

While Gaode was still trying to recall where he had seen that emblem before, Ms. Jelica pulled fifteen faintly gleaming Sean Gold Coins from the pouch and pushed them toward him.

"Master Google, your payment."

"Thank you for your generosity." Gaode’s eyes flashed, instantly revealing his money-grubbing nature.

Payment was made, and the goods were delivered.

Jelica stood up to leave. Gaode politely escorted her to the door, but just as she was about to turn away, she called out to him again.

"Master Google, thank you once more for your help. The Lake Heart is truly important to me. It’s not just an Alchemy Creation; it’s something my mother left behind for me.

"If you ever encounter any difficulties in the future and truly have no other options..." Jelica bit her lip and handed him a card printed with the same "bird ready to take flight" emblem. She said softly, "You can come find me at 1 Deep Flow Street. Perhaps I’ll be able to help you."

Having said that, Jelica stepped into her high heels and boarded the carriage that had been waiting for her at the door.

Gaode stood in the doorway, watching the carriage depart before looking down at the "business card" in his hand. He finally remembered where he had seen that bird spreading its wings before.

Above the main gates of the Bremen Mage Association!

And the address of the Bremen Mage Association was 3 Deep Flow Street.

As for 1 Deep Flow Street... that was the City Lord’s Mansion.

Although Gaode had previously made some vague guesses about Jelica’s family background and knew she must have a noble status, he never expected it to be this prestigious.

Who would have thought that just ten days after arriving in the city of Bremen, he would manage to forge a connection with the most noble family in the city? In truth, Gaode didn’t think what he did warranted such immense gratitude; after all, it was just a completely normal transaction. The fact that she was willing to verbally thank him just showed that she was polite and well-educated. He had never expected anything more. But to think it would result in such a massive, unexpected windfall.

He might not have seen much of the world, but even he knew just how precious the "business card" in his hand was. It turned out that young ladies from prominent families weren’t always haughty and aloof; she actually seemed quite gentle. While pondering this, Gaode carefully tucked the "business card" from Jelica away in his inner pocket.
