"He looks like me?" Aluo pointed at himself with his thumb, "That’s impossible, neither my dad nor my mom looks like me."

A child nearby joked, "Aluo, were you picked up from somewhere?"

"You’re the one who was picked up, your whole family was picked up!" Aluo stuck out his tongue and made a face at the child, his expression not false at all.

Bai Ruozhu frowned slightly. Aluo should have always known that he wasn’t Fang Qing and Luo Family’s child; he’s just Fang Qing’s servant,

but now it seems he doesn’t remember, judging by his sincere expression, he really thinks he’s their child.

"Your parents are so young, they don’t look like they would be your parents, more like your siblings. Look at my dad; he’s got so many wrinkles." A child teased.

"My parents got married early, and they’re good-looking, so they don’t look old." Aluo said, a bit annoyed, "If you keep talking nonsense, I won’t play with you anymore."

He finished speaking and went to hold Bai Ruozhu’s hand, "Sister, let’s go, I’ll help you find someone."

Bai Ruozhu glanced at Jiang Yichun, "My husband and I are both doctors."

"Wow, doctors are amazing, can you help my mom? She’s not well, always sleepy. I’ll help you find someone, you help my mom with her illness, okay?" Aluo asked expectantly.

"Okay, although last time I saw your mom, she seemed fine." Bai Ruozhu tried to probe.

"But she sleeps for a long time; I’m afraid she won’t wake up." Aluo stuck out his tongue.

Soon after, Bai Ruozhu and the others came to the Fang Family.

Fang Qing was somewhat surprised, but fortunately, the quick-tongued Aluo explained the situation clearly.

"My wife’s illness seemed to occur postpartum." Fang Qing said.

"Let me first check your wife’s pulse." Bai Ruozhu said.

"She’s asleep; can you still check?" Fang Qing asked.

"Let’s try."

Jiang Yichun, being an outsider, could only wait outside the inner chamber, while Bai Ruozhu was led inside by Fang Qing alone.

Luo Family’s member was sleeping silently, so quietly it was as if there was no sound of breathing. Bai Ruozhu reached out to check her pulse, and her heart jumped.

There was no pulse, none at all!

Luo Family’s member was dead!

She almost withdrew her hand abruptly, not expecting the next moment, a tremendous force held her, and her vision blurred as if she was sent far away, until it cleared, she was in another place.

"Ruozhu, how’s the assessment?" Jiang Yichun, impatient after waiting for a while, asked softly at the door.

Unexpectedly, Bai Ruozhu did not respond at all, he felt a tightness in his chest and rushed inside, seeing Luo Family’s member lying quietly on the bed, and Bai Ruozhu sitting while motionless.

In the distance, Fang Qing was also motionless; the two seemed to have lost their souls.

"Ruozhu, Ruozhu?" He dared not shake Bai Ruozhu vigorously; he could only call her softly, but Bai Ruozhu’s eyes were unfocused, unresponsive to him.

He turned to Fang Qing, waved his hand in front of his face, but Fang Qing had no reaction at all.

They were drawn into Luo Family’s Dreamland, but why was he outside yet unharmed?

Was it intentional by Luo Family’s member, or did her powers weaken, making the Dreamland smaller?

Jiang Yichun dared not leave, quietly guarding Bai Ruozhu, afraid of any mishap.

On an island, Bai Ruozhu looked around; seabirds were soaring overhead. It strangely resembled Merfolk Island.

The island was vast, and she saw no one at first glance, she could only slowly walk forward.

Suddenly, she heard a merfolk song she once heard at Chushuang’s place.

She followed the song to find a black-haired woman in white, looking very much like Chushuang from behind.

"You finally came." She spoke, slowly turning around, revealing Luo Family’s face.

"You intentionally called me in?" Bai Ruozhu asked in shock.

Luo Family nodded, "This is Merfolk Island; I’ve never been here. I learned about it from Aqing’s description, including this song; it’s a merfolk song, but Aqing said few can sing it; only aristocratic merfolk can."

Unexpectedly, Fang Qing shared so much with her, he must have loved her dearly back then.

"Why did you call me here?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

"You know I have moments of clarity and moments of confusion, but when I saw your husband, I realized he’s Aqing’s relative; he resembles Aqing somewhat. Aqing had mentioned his sister, saying they escaped together, so your husband must be Chushuang’s son." Luo Family said.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, "Yes."

Luo Family smiled, "So I won’t harm you; otherwise, Aqing wouldn’t forgive me."

"Didn’t you also bring him in? Is that the real Fang Qing?" Bai Ruozhu asked.

Luo Family shook her head, "No, he and Aluo are replacements, created with help from someone who promised to revive them if I did something for him."

Two streams of tears flowed as she spoke, "I originally thought they could be revived, and I was so happy I could barely sleep. I didn’t want to see them in the Dreamland again; I wanted to be with them, go back to that happiest time."

"But... everything turned out to be an illusion; they weren’t revived but were two replacements. It wasn’t until you appeared that I realized it. Didn’t Aluo leave with you?"

"Who is this person? What does he want you to do?" Bai Ruozhu listened more and more shocked, conspiracy, and both Fang Qing, Aluo seemed real, not disguised, how was it done?

"I don’t know; he spoke to me within my dream initially without demands, only recently revealing them—telling me to keep the people you brought trapped in the Dreamland forever, promising Aqing and Aluo would stay with me." Luo Family’s voice cracked with sobs, "I’ve trapped Aqing on the island’s other side, only bringing you in to avoid suspicion. Though he’s identical to the Aqing I remember, I know he’s under that man’s control and reports everything I do."

"What about Aluo and my husband? Did you bring them in?" Bai Ruozhu asked hurriedly.

"No, I need to close off here, my power is limited; you should leave quickly and never return." Luo Family said.
