A second chance with my billionaire husband
Chapter 2183: Childbirth (2)
The meeting ended, and Yan Nanmo, having arranged his tasks, rushed off to Country E, not wanting to spend the reunion day all alone.
Yan Ke showed up in a flurry right after finishing his training.
The whole family of five gathered in the ward, the room filled with warmth and harmony.
Yan Nanmo and Zhuang Xiyue sat on the couch in the living room, backs to the group, whispering about something.
Yan Song sat by the bedside, leisurely peeling an apple. The soft yellow light fell upon him, and his slender fingers moved with such finesse that the apple seemed more like an intricately carved piece of art.
Yun Ya lay under the covers, her prominently protruding belly impossible to hide. Yan Ke sat across from Yan Song, staring in awe at Yun Ya’s astonishingly large belly.
“Childbirth is really terrifying.” A shiver ran through him, affirming a certain thought in his mind.
Yun Ya shook her head with a smile.
Yan Ke gulped and asked cautiously, “Sister-in-law, can I touch it?” To think that there were two vibrant lives inside such a big belly was just so amazing.
Yan Song glanced at him with faint disinterest, causing Yan Ke to shiver involuntarily, yet he pretended not to care and shook his head stubbornly.
Yun Ya smiled, guiding his hand onto her belly. The warm touch made Yan Ke instinctively want to withdraw his hand, but Yun Ya held it there, the thin belly skin keeping him so close to life.
Suddenly, Yan Ke’s eyes widened with surprise, “The baby kicked me….”
His bewildered look should really be captured for his fans to see.
Yan Song let out a displeased snort.
Yun Ya laughed and said, “Looks like they really like their uncle.”
“Uncle?” Yan Ke murmured, seeming even more excited than Yan Song, the actual father: “I’m going to be an uncle?”
Yun Ya was filled with joy, “Of course, the kids are greeting you.”
Yan Ke jumped up in bewilderment, never having felt this excited when he first found out. But having just experienced the pulse of life, there was a stirring response from his blood ties, filling him with emotion and joy.
“I’m going to be an uncle….” The delicate and upright young man merely repeated this sentence incoherently.
Yan Song tugged him away by the collar, saying disdainfully, “Don’t disturb your sister-in-law, scram.”
Saying this, he handed the sliced apple to Yun Ya, all his actions tender and gentle.
Yun Ya opened her mouth, slowly chewing the fruit while shaking her head at Yan Song with a smile.
Yan Ke, immersed in the excitement of becoming an uncle, ignored Yan Song’s earlier words and unabashedly said to Yun Ya, “I really hope they are two little princesses, beautiful and noble like Sister-in-law, and definitely not boys like my brother, with such awful stubborn tempers, it’s simply too unlikable.” As he said this, he didn’t forget to glare fiercely at Yan Song.
Yan Song coldly snorted. So what if it’s a boy? They are his and Yun Ya’s children, and he would love them just the same.
Three days passed quietly like this. On New Year’s Eve, towards evening, Zhuang Xiyue personally went into the kitchen to knead dough and prepare dumpling stuffing.
In the living room, the marble table served as a temporary kitchen counter. Zhuang Xiyue skillfully rolled out dumpling skins, while Yan Nanmo rolled up his shirt sleeves, meticulously making dumplings as he chatted with Zhuang Xiyue. Shedding the serious and composed image he held before others, at this moment, he was just like any ordinary man anywhere in the world.
Yan Ke squatted across from him, holding a piece of dough that he couldn’t manage to wrap correctly, each attempt turning out oddly misshapen and ugly.
On the contrary, Yan Song’s fingers flew and created neatly shaped dumplings, embodying the same distinct sharpness and elegance as himself, standing out among the rest.
Yan Ke, discouraged, discarded his dough, “Why is this so hard? I’m not doing this anymore.”
Yan Song curled his lips, picked up the half-wrapped dumpling Yan Ke had discarded. With a few movements of his fingers, the previously ugly dumpling instantly became beautiful.
Yan Song glanced at him, “You can’t rush anything. Come, I’ll teach you.”
Yan Ke pouted but obediently picked up another dough piece and earnestly began learning again.
Yun Ya sat on the hospital bed, looking at this harmonious, brotherly scene unfolding before her, her lips curling into a smile.
At the end, Zhuang Xiyue took the clean, red dates that had been prepared earlier and wrapped them in a dumpling, lifting it up to Yun Ya with a smile, “May you give birth to a precious child soon, safe and sound.”
