Chapter 770: Chapter 767: What’s There to Be So High-Spirited About?

"In the end, Chloe Grant was sent to a psychiatric hospital. She insisted on seeing me, but we didn’t end up reaching any kind of ’mutual agreement’."

As Clara Grant told Sarah Shelby this, her tone was still a little dejected.

Sarah Shelby was silent for a moment before saying lightly, "It sounds a bit tragic, but someone like her isn’t worthy of sympathy. When she tried to harm you time and time again, she should have known it wouldn’t end well for her."

As she spoke, she looked at Clara Grant and added, "Clara, you don’t feel guilty, do you? You absolutely can’t think that way. It’s not like you’re the one who harmed her. It was all her own doing; it has nothing to do with you."

She knew Clara Grant. She was a soft-hearted person who tended to take the blame for everything.

Clara Grant shook her head. "Of course I don’t. It just doesn’t feel good. You know, people like Autumn Shelby and Chloe Grant... if they hadn’t wanted so much, if they had known how to cherish what they already had and give up on what they couldn’t obtain, maybe their lives would have turned out differently.

"Autumn Shelby could have lived a happy life with Sierra Sutton and their baby. And Chloe Grant might still be the young lady of the Grant Family, and she could have gone even further in her acting career."

"Unfortunately, there are no ’what ifs’ in life, and you can’t start over," Sarah Shelby said faintly, turning her head to look out the window. "If there were ’what ifs,’ if you could start over, I bet too many people would want to choose a different way to live."

Clara Grant looked at her friend. Although Sarah’s expression was calm, Clara could still see a faint sadness in it. She realized that, at some point, the once straightforward, cheerful, and even hot-tempered Sarah had become reserved and inscrutable, no longer letting her joy or sorrow show on her face.

Although Sarah tried her best to act like her old self in front of her good friend, to make it seem like she was happy, Clara could still feel that she wasn’t the same as before.

"Sarah, what’s really going on with you and Ewan Stratton?" Clara Grant couldn’t help but ask.

Hearing her question, Sarah Shelby turned her head, a mischievous, charming smile instantly appearing on her face. "Him? I’m about to conquer him completely! You have no idea, he gets unbelievably jealous now whenever he sees me even speak to another man."

"And, and! You know his leg? At first, I had to force him to do his physical therapy, but now he’s proactively doing all sorts of exercises to help his recovery. He said he’s afraid I’ll get tired of him like this, afraid some other able-bodied man will steal me away, hehe, hehehe..."

After a few laughs, she waved her hand. "Oh, enough about us. How have you and your Seth Quinn been lately? All the obstacles are finally gone, so you must be pretty happy now, right?"

Clara Grant knew Sarah wasn’t telling the truth about her current situation with Ewan Stratton. However, judging by Ewan’s attitude toward Sarah at the banquet, there was still a lot of hope for them to become a happy couple. It just might take a little more time.

But if happiness was waiting for them up ahead, then waiting a little longer wouldn’t matter.

Clara Grant smiled and said, "It’s a little embarrassing to say, but I’ve always felt like I missed out, getting married without ever being pursued or really dating. It feels like such a loss. So, lately, I’ve been making Seth chase me all over again so we can date properly."

Sarah Shelby raised an eyebrow and laughed. "You two really know how to keep things interesting! To be honest, I feel like ever since the day you two finally got on the same page, you’ve been acting like you’re dating every single day."

"You can’t fake the feeling of happiness. Your every smile, your every expression and movement, even every pore in your body is screaming that you’re happy."

Clara Grant couldn’t help but touch her own face, smiling shyly and happily. "Really?"

"Of course it’s real. It’s not just me; anyone can see that you’re passionately in love every day. You’re happy, you’re joyful," Sarah Shelby said with a smile. Then, as if remembering something, she asked, "By the way, have you and Seth Quinn discussed when you’re going to have your wedding ceremony?"

’Speaking of a wedding, Seth Quinn did have a suggestion: to hold it on the day of her graduation, which would make it more meaningful.’

’Her parents-in-law also approved, and she had originally agreed too. But now, there was a little something in her belly...’

She smiled and said, "We haven’t decided yet. We’ve both been pretty busy lately, so we’ll talk about it later. Anyway, I haven’t graduated yet, so there’s no rush."

...

Seth Quinn had also been feeling a bit frustrated these past few days. He had tried every method he could think of to "pursue" Clara Grant. Although she seemed quite satisfied each time, she would always say at the end that while she was satisfied, she wasn’t completely "won over."

So, almost a week had passed, and he still hadn’t managed to "win her over"!

Thus, the frustrated Seth Quinn felt even more dejected watching the high-spirited Linden Jennings and River Sterling all day.

"River Sterling, I can understand Linden being all cheerful. At least he’s about to become a father, so of course he’s in a good mood. But you? You don’t even have a proper girlfriend, so who are you acting all high and mighty for all day?"

River Sterling never would have thought that simply being in a good mood could provoke Seth Quinn. He was speechless. "Tch! So I can’t be happy just because I don’t have a girlfriend? Do I have to walk around with a long face every day? I... I might not have a girlfriend, but can’t I have a career?"

"The show I’ve been following for so long, *You Are My Eternal Love*, is about to start filming! I’m happy! I’m excited! Is that not allowed?"

After speaking, he muttered something under his breath, then looked up at Seth Quinn, raising an eyebrow with a grin. "Seth, what’s with you these past few days? Who pissed you off?"

Although he didn’t say it out loud, based on his experience, whenever Seth Quinn was in a bad mood, it was 100% related to Clara Grant.

"Yeah, Seth, if something’s bothering you, just say it out loud... so us brothers can have a good laugh," Linden Jennings chimed in, grinning.

He had just successfully gotten his marriage certificate with Poppy Vance a few days ago and was about to become a father. It was true what they say: joyous occasions lift the spirits. And with a double dose of happiness, his mood was naturally better than ever!

Hearing this, River Sterling immediately burst out laughing.

Seth Quinn shot his two lousy friends an irritated glare, but he didn’t "threaten" them like he usually would. Instead, he pondered for a moment, cleared his throat a bit unnaturally, and then asked, "Tell me, when you’re pursuing a woman, is there any way to win a quick victory? You know, a method that can capture her heart instantly."

The moment he finished speaking, River and Linden’s jaws nearly hit the floor.

River Sterling immediately shot up from the sofa and moved closer to him, nearly reaching out to cover his mouth.
