Chapter 766: Chapter 763: A Deadline? How About Three Months?

"Um... didn’t we just agree that you’d pursue me, and we’d date? You’re still in the ’chasing me’ phase right now, so how could I... you know... with you? Right?" Clara Grant wracked her brain for an excuse. "Besides, I don’t believe in premarital sex."

But her excuse made Seth Quinn laugh. "But we’re already married."

"E-even though we’re already married... our current situation is what we agreed on. You haven’t even won me over yet, and you already want to sleep with me?"

Seth Quinn frowned, looking aggrieved. "I’m pursuing you, and then we’re dating—but that’s all happening *after* we got married. In real life, we’re already husband and wife. Sleeping together doesn’t have to be in sync with all that, does it?"

"Of course it does!" Clara immediately adopted a firm stance.

"Fine!" Although Seth Quinn was uncomfortably aroused, he reluctantly decided to go along with her. He slumped down onto his side and asked miserably, "So, what’s the time limit?"

"Well, for dating... even with a whirlwind marriage, you need at least..." Clara held out her hand, hesitating for a moment before finally holding up three fingers. "Th-three months..."

"What? Three months!" ’Is she trying to make me die of frustration?’ "Why don’t you just say three years?"

"W-well, three years works too... Ouch!"

The words had barely left her mouth when she received a flick on the forehead. She pouted, blinked, and muttered under her breath in dissatisfaction, "But you were the one who suggested it... Okay, okay, fine. We’ll take off a month. Two months has to be enough, right?"

’It’s already been over a month, so another two months will be fine. Even if I decide not to keep this child and have the procedure, I’ll be fully recovered two months from now.’

"Then why don’t you mention the people who have whirlwind marriages after knowing each other for just a few days?" Seth still couldn’t accept it. ’Two months... sixty days... How can I possibly wait that long?!’

"Ugh, fine... well, at the very least, you have to actually win me over first!" Clara suggested, trying to placate him. ’In any case, all I have to do is reject his advances for the next two months, and I’ll be fine.’

Seth Quinn seemed to consider it for a moment. Although he was still a little reluctant, this was the only way he’d be able to touch her again in the shortest possible time.

"Fine. It’s a deal. Once I’ve won you over, you have to let me do whatever I want!"

The corner of Clara Grant’s mouth twitched. ’Do whatever he wants?! Why did it sound like he was painting himself as some kind of beast?’

Still, Clara breathed a secret sigh of relief. ’Thank goodness I managed to bluff my way through that.’

...

Seth Quinn had no experience pursuing women. They had always thrown themselves at him; he’d never had to be the one to take the initiative.

So, the only wooing tactics he could think of were the clichés: sending flowers, purses, clothes—anything giftable—and inviting her to dinner, tea, or a movie.

After careful consideration, he decided to ask her to the movies for their first outing. One, he remembered her saying that she hadn’t been to a movie theater in a long time. And two, they could watch a horror film. When she got scared, she would instinctively burrow into his arms.

That weekend, the movie theater was packed, mostly with couples on dates.

Standing near the theater entrance, Clara Grant suddenly pointed to another couple and said to Seth Quinn, "Look. The standard movie-date combo."

Seth Quinn turned to look and saw that in the other couples, the woman was always holding popcorn and a Coke.

"Oh. Popcorn and a Coke. I’ll go get them."

With that, he turned and headed to the concession stand.

When he returned with the snacks, he looked up and saw a young man standing beside Clara Grant.
