Chapter 629: Chapter 626: I Must Also Find an Anchor for My Soul

Linden stopped and turned to look at her.

"Linden, when you go find Poppy, make sure you bring her back on your first try. Don’t give her any chance to get away. Otherwise, she’ll just hide again, and this time she’ll go so far that none of us will ever find her." This was clearly what worried Clara the most.

Linden’s eyes shone with determination as he nodded. "Don’t worry. I won’t let her get away from me again."

River immediately asked, "Linden, do you need me to go with you?"

Linden smiled and shook his head. "No, I can handle it by myself."

With that, he walked out the door, his steps light yet determined.

River watched Linden’s retreating figure and sighed. "Ah, Linden’s finally back to his old self. It’s so good to see."

He then turned to Seth and Clara and continued with a sigh, "Now, your relationship with Clara is going strong, Seth, and Linden has not only found Poppy, but he’s a father. You’re all finding happiness in love and family. I guess it’s my turn to put in some effort."

Seth shot him a look. "You’re going to try and find a woman to marry?"

’If he really wants to settle down, that would be a good thing.’

But River just snorted in disdain. "Who said anything about getting married? I’m talking about working hard on my career. You all have your anchors now; I need to find one for my soul."

With that, he looked at Clara. "Clara, give me what’s-her-name’s address. I’m going to get to work. If I don’t sign the rights to that novel, then my name isn’t River Sterling!"

"And who is what’s-her-name?" Clara asked, playing dumb.

"Who else? That old antique, of course."

Clara pouted. "River, don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you keep calling Ryston that, you really might have to change your name."

As she spoke, she jotted down Rhys Ryston’s address and handed it to him.

"She’s so old-fashioned. What else am I supposed to call her? Rys? Ton? Those sound terrible." River chuckled, taking the slip of paper. He glanced at it, then gave a wave. "Thanks, Clara. I’m off!"

"Good luck!" Clara called after him languidly, though she didn’t hold out much hope.

But to her surprise, River succeeded very quickly.

「Two days later.」

When River showed up with the signed contract and told her to get ready to play the lead, Clara was astonished. "River, how on earth did you do it?"

’She knew Ryston well enough. While she didn’t think she was old-fashioned, she did know that Ryston could be incredibly stubborn at times.’

’Besides, given how much Ryston disliked River, how could they have possibly reached an agreement so easily?’

At her question, River seemed a little uncomfortable. "How else? With a sincere apology, of course."

"That’s it?"

"That’s it."

Clara pouted. She didn’t quite believe him, but since it was a done deal, she couldn’t be bothered to pry for more details.

It was confirmed that Liam Keane would direct the TV adaptation of *You Are My Eternal Love*. Aside from Clara Grant, who was already cast as the female lead, all other roles would be chosen through a rigorous audition process.

Clara was suddenly reminded of Sandra. She had once promised her that if this novel were ever adapted for television, she would get her a good role.

But now that the novel was actually being adapted, Sandra no longer had the chance to be a part of it.

She suddenly felt an urge to go see Sandra and tell her the news, as if it would bring her some closure.

...

Meanwhile, when Faye Jennings heard the novel was being adapted into a TV series, she was eager to play the female lead. She had read the book and loved the main character, feeling it was a role she could really sink her teeth into.

So, she was deeply displeased when she went to audition for the lead role, only to be told it had already been given to Clara Grant.
