Chapter 622: Chapter 619: Your Young Master Can’t Be That Petty, Can He?

When the four men saw Sarah Shelby, they all called out in unison, "Young Madam."

Sarah Shelby just glanced at them before pulling Clara Grant out the door.

Downstairs, a car was already waiting. The driver stood by the open door, bowing slightly to Sarah Shelby. "Please, Young Madam."

Sarah Shelby shrugged. Since Ewan Stratton had gone to the trouble of sending a car and driver, it saved her the hassle of taking her own car.

She linked her arm with Clara Grant’s and jutted her chin toward the car. "Let’s go."

With that, she started to get into the car, but the four burly men reached out and blocked Clara Grant. They didn’t say a word, but their message was crystal clear: Clara was not getting in the car.

Sarah Shelby, who was leaning down to get into the car, froze when she saw Clara being blocked. She straightened up and asked, "What is the meaning of this? Clara is my friend. Can’t my friend ride in the car with me?"

The four men exchanged a look. One of them stated expressionlessly, "Young Madam, the Young Master’s orders are that no one is to come near you. Please get in the car."

"No one is to come near me? We were just arm in arm a moment ago, why didn’t you stop us then? But now that it’s time to get in the car, suddenly she can’t be near me? Your Young Master can’t be that petty, can he?" Sarah Shelby snorted. "Move. Let my friend in the car."

The four men remained silent, but they held their ground, continuing to block Clara Grant.

"What? Does my word mean nothing? You call me ’Young Madam’ with your mouths, but in your hearts, you don’t take me seriously at all, is that it?" Sarah Shelby was so angry she started nodding her head. "Fine, fine, fine. I won’t waste my breath on you. I’ll call your Young Master and talk to him directly."

With that, she pulled out her phone. But as she unlocked the screen, she remembered she didn’t even have Ewan Stratton’s number.

But she’d already said it; she couldn’t admit she didn’t have his number now, could she? Besides, if they found out she didn’t even have her own husband’s phone number, wouldn’t they look down on her as the "Young Madam" even more?

So, she could only pretend, continuing to scroll through her phone.

Seeing how angry Sarah was, Clara Grant worried that if she actually called Ewan Stratton right now, the two of them would end up fighting.

Sarah had just been talking about taking control of her own happiness. Arguing over something so trivial was clearly not conducive to nurturing their relationship.

She quickly said to Sarah Shelby, "Sarah, it’s okay. I can just take a taxi to campus. You go on ahead."

"How could I do that? If I just ditch you here and leave by myself, what kind of person would that make me?" Sarah Shelby couldn’t swallow her anger. The realization that she couldn’t even call Ewan Stratton to argue her case only made her more furious.

As she was viciously jabbing at her phone screen, it suddenly started to ring, startling her.

She glanced at the screen—it was an unknown number. She answered with a frown, her tone sharp. "Who is this?"

There was only silence from the other end. Sarah glanced at the screen again before putting the phone back to her ear. "Hello? Speak up or I’m hanging up. Are you some kind of weirdo?"

Just as she was about to hang up, a cold, menacing voice came through the speaker. "’Weirdo’? I don’t recall having any other afflictions besides my disability."

’Ewan Stratton?’

Sarah Shelby felt a surge of delight. She’d just been stressing about not having his number, and here he was, calling her.

She opened her mouth to speak, but Ewan Stratton’s voice cut in again. "Get in the car."

Sarah Shelby instinctively started to refuse. "I will not—"

Before she could finish her sentence, a realization struck her. She whipped her head around, scanning the surroundings. "Where are you?"

’He must be nearby. How else would he know I’m not getting in the car?’

But she looked all around and saw no sign of him.
