A New Life in Fairy Tail

Chapter 539 - 539: Let's Enjoy the Fruits of Our Labor!

Lucy truly felt how much everyone valued her opinion, and as a result, she poured her heart and soul into the interior design project.

To ensure absolute perfection, she even contacted her mother and her former tutors at the Heartfilia estate for specialized advice on high-end interior architecture and material sourcing.

Hearing about Lucy's passion project, Jude and Layla threw the full weight of the Heartfilia Conglomerate behind her. They hired top-tier architectural consultants to review Lucy's plans and provide expert feedback, ensuring her designs were not only beautiful but structurally flawless.

With remote support from Jude and Layla, Lucy, Ultear, and the rest of the design committee spent days finalizing the airship's interior blueprints. Noah's Thought Projections provided crucial input regarding magical integration and practical utility, ensuring the luxurious designs didn't compromise the ship's combat functionality.

Once the blueprints were finalized, Ultear and the girls authorized a massive withdrawal from the guild's central treasury to purchase the necessary raw materials.

However, when Jude and Layla learned of the material list through Lucy, they immediately dispatched a massive convoy of Heartfilia trading vessels to deliver every single required material directly to Magnolia, completely free of charge.

Ultear, Erza, and Mirajane flatly refused the charity. The Heartfilia family had already provided immense logistical and financial support to the guild in the past; they absolutely refused to accept millions of Jewels worth of luxury materials for free.

After a fierce, protracted negotiation with Jude's logistics managers, the girls managed to strike a compromise: Fairy Tail would purchase the entire shipment at wholesale cost.

With the materials secured, Noah rapidly transported the massive stockpile from Magnolia to Tenrou Island.

The moment the materials arrived, Ultear and the design committee took absolute control of the installation process. The men of the guild were essentially reduced to manual laborers, strictly ordered to haul, cut, and install the materials exactly according to the girls' meticulous specifications.

While the overall renovation of the airship proceeded methodically under the girls' iron-fisted rule, Noah and Mavis's research on the bloodline-tracking magic continued in the underground laboratory.

After several grueling days of continuous testing, modification, and endless runic recalibrations, they finally pushed the spell's maximum detection radius to a staggering 200 kilometers.

However, attempting to expand the radius any further caused the complexity of the magical equations to scale exponentially. It was a massive bottleneck.

But a 200-kilometer radius was essentially four times larger than their initial prototype. It was finally large enough to be practically useful.

"I think we should pause the modifications here. Trying to push the radius further will require an unjustifiable amount of time," Noah stated, reviewing the final telemetry data on his Archive screen.

Mavis nodded in agreement. She knew they had hit a temporary ceiling. It wasn't that the spell couldn't be improved, but the sheer volume of time and energy required to squeeze out another ten kilometers simply wasn't worth it right now.

What she needed more than anything was time. She was desperate to begin her search. Her child was out there, and he was already an old man.

Furthermore, a 200-kilometer radius was a massive scanning net. They could easily formulate search grids and sweep the continent. If they felt the need to improve the spell later, Noah could tinker with the code while they were actively searching.

"Phew..."

Hearing Noah declare the modifications complete, Laxus let out a massive sigh of profound relief from the corner of the lab. His days of being used as a high-speed, high-altitude windsock were finally over.

"Don't worry, First Master. If my magical theory is correct, the detection radius will actually be significantly larger when you cast the spell yourself," Noah said, offering Mavis an encouraging smile.

"It'll be larger if I cast it?" Mavis blinked, pausing to process the magical theory.

"Ah! I understand!" Mavis's eyes widened in realization. "Makarov and Laxus are grandfather and grandson. The genetic link is separated by a generation. But since I am searching for my own child, the direct, first-generation bloodline resonance will be exponentially stronger. Because the bond is tighter, the spell's effective range will naturally expand!"

"Exactly," Noah nodded. "A mother-son bond is the strongest possible genetic link. Relying on that absolute resonance, your scanning radius should easily eclipse the 200-kilometer benchmark."

"That is wonderful news," Mavis beamed, a massive wave of relief washing over her.

"Since the tracking spell is finished, and the airship renovations are officially complete, we just need to wait for everyone to gather for the launch ceremony," Noah smiled.

While Noah and Mavis had been sequestered in the lab perfecting the tracking spell over the last few days, the rest of the guild had successfully completed the interior renovations.

For the past forty-eight hours, Noah's Thought Projections had been rigorously conducting final safety inspections and system stress-tests across the entire vessel. He checked every single magical conduit, structural support, and defensive array to ensure there were absolutely zero hidden flaws or vulnerabilities.

Simultaneously, he pushed the ship's new Lacrima engine to its absolute limits, familiarizing himself with its maximum output and optimal flight parameters. Understanding a warship's absolute limits in a controlled environment was crucial to preventing panic during actual combat.

While Noah's clones were running the final diagnostics, Ultear and the girls had approached him with a proposal: they wanted to hold a formal launch ceremony for the airship. It didn't need to be a massive, public event; an intimate celebration with just the guild members was perfect.

Since Noah and Mavis's research was nearing its conclusion anyway, Noah suggested they hold the ceremony once both projects were finished.

The guild enthusiastically agreed. Since the physical labor was done, Noah's clones teleported the exhausted guild members back to Magnolia so they could sleep in their own beds and recover.

Now, with the tracking spell finalized and the ship fully cleared for flight, it was time to celebrate.

"A launch ceremony? That sounds wonderful!" Mavis cheered, her eyes sparkling. As the founder, she absolutely loved participating in guild events.

"Let's bring everyone over. They've all been resting in Magnolia for the last two days waiting for the green light," Noah smiled.

Noah activated his Spatial Magic and teleported to the Magnolia guildhall.

"The launch ceremony is starting!" Noah's voice boomed across the hall.

The members currently lounging in the guildhall instantly erupted in deafening cheers.

"FINALLY!"

"I've been waiting for this!"

"Our ship is ready!"

Everyone leapt to their feet, practically vibrating with excitement. Several members sprinted toward the back rooms to grab massive crates of supplies they had prepped specifically for this moment.

Simultaneously, Noah sent a localized telepathic broadcast across Magnolia, notifying the members resting at home or wandering the town. Within minutes, the entire guild had converged on the guildhall.

Once everyone was inside and the front doors were locked, Noah raised his hand. A massive flash of golden light enveloped the hall, and the entire guild vanished.

When they reappeared, they were standing on the sandy beach of Tenrou Island, looking up at the massive, gleaming, beautifully renovated airship.

"Alright! Let's officially begin the launch ceremony!" Noah announced, turning to Makarov and Mavis. "Grandpa, First Master, would either of you like to say a few words to commemorate the occasion?"

"You go ahead, Third. I am officially retired," Mavis smiled softly, stepping back and gesturing toward Makarov.

Makarov, who had been fully prepared to defer to the First Master, paused awkwardly.

"Technically, since we've all agreed that you are the Fourth Master, I should be retired too! But no, you stubbornly refuse to officially take the title!" Makarov grumbled, glaring at Noah.

"Hahaha, just enjoy the honorary title for a few more years, Grandpa," Noah laughed, completely unfazed by the glare.

"You give the speech, Noah. You built the damn thing," Makarov sighed, waving him off.

Since Noah was essentially acting as the Fourth Master in everything but name anyway, Makarov was perfectly happy to let him handle the ceremonial duties. He was going to thoroughly enjoy his 'unofficial' retirement.

Seeing Makarov yield, Noah didn't hesitate. He spun around to face the massive crowd.

"Did you guys bring the supplies?" Noah yelled.

"Right here!" Sorano shouted from the front of the crowd.

She, along with dozens of other members, hauled massive wooden crates onto the sand. They quickly pried them open, revealing hundreds of high-grade, commercial fireworks.

"All set!" Sorano clapped her hands together, looking proudly at the massive arsenal of explosives lined up on the beach.

The rest of the guild members quickly moved into position, readying their own fireworks.

"Thanks to everyone's incredible hard work and dedication, our airship is finally complete!" Noah's voice echoed across the beach, amplified by a subtle application of magic. "Every single performance metric has vastly exceeded our initial projections! This ship belongs to all of us! Now, let's celebrate the official launch of the Fairy Tail mobile guildhall!"

Noah threw both hands into the air.

"YEAAAAAHHHH!!!" The guild erupted in a deafening roar of absolute triumph.

Simultaneously, dozens of members ignited the fuses.

FSHHHHH! BOOM!

A massive barrage of fireworks shrieked into the sky, exploding in a deafening cacophony of sound. Even in the bright daylight, the intense, highly concentrated magical chemicals burned brilliantly, painting the sky with vibrant, chaotic explosions of color.

"My turn!" Natsu roared, his blood pumping with sheer excitement at the sight of the explosions.

He inhaled deeply, his cheeks bulging, and rapidly spat dozens of highly compressed, miniature fireballs high into the sky.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

When the fireballs reached their apex, Natsu detonated them. The flames violently expanded, perfectly shaping themselves into massive, blazing Fairy Tail crests.

"Oh, you want a show?!" Gray yelled, his competitive spirit instantly igniting. "Ice-Make: Geyser!"

CRASH!

Massive pillars of glittering, crystalline ice erupted from the ocean surface, reflecting the sunlight in a dazzling, prismatic display.

Not wanting to be outdone, the rest of the guild members immediately unleashed their own magic into the sky. Beams of light, torrents of water, swirling cyclones, and bursts of raw energy streaked upward, exploding and weaving together in a chaotic, breathtakingly beautiful tapestry of magic.

The sky above Tenrou Island was utterly consumed by the roar of explosions and the blinding flash of hundreds of different spells. Massive Fairy Tail crests in every conceivable color dominated the heavens.

The chaotic, impromptu magical fireworks display lasted for several minutes before everyone finally exhausted their immediate magical reserves and the explosions faded.

CLAP! CLAP!

Noah clapped his hands loudly, instantly drawing the guild's attention back to him.

"Alright! Now, let's board our ship and enjoy the fruits of our labor!" Noah yelled, pointing at the massive access ramp.

"CHAAAAAARGE! I'M GETTING TO THE POOL FIRST!" Natsu roared, instantly sprinting toward the ramp at top speed.

"Aye Sir!" Happy yelled, flying right behind him.

"Like hell you are, flame-brain!" Gray roared, stripping off his shirt and sprinting after him. Gajeel was right on his heels, equally determined not to let Natsu win.

Seeing the chaotic race begin, the rest of the guild members cheered and eagerly stampeded up the access ramp, desperate to explore their new home.

Noah couldn't help but laugh, watching the chaotic swarm of his family rush aboard. He, Makarov, Mavis, Laxus, and Ultear walked up the ramp at a much more leisurely pace, thoroughly enjoying the warm, chaotic atmosphere.
