Chapter 1533: Chapter 1523: How to Choose

Exposed by Jiang Wenhui in front of everyone, Yin Manqing’s expression was not very pleasant.

However, she had long passed that sensitive phase. What she cared about was the position of the group’s president.

She snorted coldly, "Even if the board plans to re-elect the president, it shouldn’t be a one-sided decision. It would be better to vote on such matters."

"That’s what we think too; it would prevent some people from feeling discontent," said a shareholder.

Yin Manqing knew they were mocking her, but she ignored it and directly found a seat to sit down.

Opposite her, President Zhou glanced at her and then at Mu Yan, smiling as he said, "I heard the niece-in-law sued President Yin. What a big conflict, reaching the police station."

With a cold expression, Yin Manqing said, "President Zhou’s information is really quick, but this is a board meeting, not a place for your jokes."

"I’m just trying to ease the tense atmosphere with some light talk," President Zhou laughed. "However, President Yin hasn’t had a good six months. First leaving the Jiang Family, and now having strained relations with your son and daughter-in-law. So, are you here to secure your son’s president position, or are you also planning to run for the executive president position?" ℴℴ𝗺

"If I wanted to run for president, would President Zhou vote for me?" Yin Manqing’s lips curled slightly, and her peach blossom eyes slightly lifted.

Even though she was already fifty, she looked even more charming than the younger Jiang Wenhui, thanks to her well-maintained appearance.

President Zhou was momentarily stunned and then laughed, "Then President Yin should give it a try."

The smile on Yin Manqing’s face faded, and her eyes lowered, her expression becoming solemn.

Although she wanted to unite shareholders to support Jing Heng, those people had already aligned to support Jiang Wenhui.

Yet, she couldn’t find Jing Heng. How could she turn the tide?!

She suddenly looked at Mu Yan, who was sitting at the chairman’s seat. What was she doing here today? Surely, she wasn’t here to support Jiang Wenhui, right?

Mu Yan, sensing someone’s gaze on her, looked up and met Yin Manqing’s eyes. She quickly looked away after just a glance.

Yin Manqing retracted her gaze, recalling her encounter from yesterday, and her face became even more unsightly.

Those at the conference table exchanged glances, seeming to agree that the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was indeed bad.

So, it seemed that Mu Yan was really here just to listen today, not to help Yin Manqing and Jiang Jingheng.

However, no matter how strong her background, this was still an internal Jiang Family affair. What could she really change here?

"Let’s get back to the main topic and elect a president quickly to put the group back on track," someone suggested.

"Absolutely," others chimed in agreement.

Chairman Li glanced at everyone and said, "Alright, since all the shareholders agree, let’s start voting. Currently, there are two candidates: President Jiang Jingheng and Vice President Jiang Wenhui. Anyone have any objections?" ℴ

"What about me?" Mu Yan suddenly asked.

Everyone looked at her, amused. She was naive, thinking one could become the group president just like that, without understanding the rules.

"Theoretically, of course, you can," Chairman Li said, "as the Young Madam holds a significant number of shares in the company."

"Niece-in-law truly stands out among women. Could it be that Jing Heng feels inferior and thus is unwilling to appear?" A shareholder joked.

Mu Yan smiled slightly, "You’re joking. I’m not that capable; I was just making a casual remark. However, I’m more curious about the election method. Is it voting by head count?"

"Of course," President Zhou said, "Every board member present has a vote, including you, niece-in-law."

Mu Yan furrowed her brows, "Isn’t it usually the case that the person with the most shares has the most influence? Shouldn’t the decision be based on the total number of shares voted, not just the number of votes?"
