Chapter 1433: Chapter 1433: You Can’t Be Willful!

The study door opened, and Mu Yan walked out and closed it. Walking a few more steps, she stopped again, turning back to look at the tightly shut door behind, faintly hearing coughing sounds.

She exhaled lightly, the tension in her heart dissipating.

She still felt that the old sir didn’t believe her, thinking Jiang Jingheng had really bullied her.

He never really liked Jiang Jingheng. If he thinks his character is bad and thus denies him as a person, wouldn’t all his efforts over the years be in vain?

Truth be told, Old Sir Jiang is really not fond of Jiang Jingheng. Not to mention the other members of the Jiang Family, even her status as an outsider is higher than his.

If the Jiang Family had successors, he probably wouldn’t rely so heavily on Jiang Jingheng.

She glanced at the documents in her hand, this gift was truly expensive.

She looked around, seeing no one, she put the item in her bag and headed downstairs.

As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Qiu Shuyun and Kong Lizhen sitting together in the living room talking, seeming to be having a lively conversation.

Of course, it was mainly Qiu Shuyun talking non-stop.

"Miss Kong, don’t be angry. I know you love your daughter deeply, but this matter is all about willingness. I think you should advise Mu Yan. If she is willing to stay with Jing Heng, you shouldn’t interfere too much."

Kong Lizhen’s face looked increasingly grim, "Am I supposed to watch as my daughter gets bullied?"

"But a divorce affects everything. The Zhuang Family may not agree, and ultimately it’s Mu Yan who suffers." Qiu Shuyun sighed.

Mu Yan frowned as she listened and walked over, saying, "Who said I wanted a divorce? Aunt, don’t make mountains out of molehills and spread falsehoods."

Seeing Mu Yan approach, Qiu Shuyun smiled awkwardly, "I’m just worried about you, afraid that Jing Heng would bully you."

"Surely I don’t have that good a relationship with aunt." Mu Yan said bluntly, "Last time I came home, and you gave me a thorough scolding."

Qiu Shuyun’s face was somewhat embarrassed. Is this how to speak to elders?

She looked towards Kong Lizhen, smiling apologetically, "Seems Mu Yan has some misunderstandings about me."

"Misunderstanding? Aunt is really good at changing faces; you incited my godmother to make me marry Jing Heng just for revenge, didn’t you?" Mu Yan sneered, "Whether you believe it or not, your son’s drug use has nothing to do with us, unless you show evidence!"

"Mu Yan, I didn’t mean that. You misunderstood me." Qiu Shuyun quickly explained, looking somewhat panicked at Kong Lizhen, "Ms. Kong, I did it for her benefit."

Kong Lizhen’s face was stern. She glanced at Mu Yan and said displeasedly, "Yanyan, how are you speaking to your elders? Aren’t you going to apologize to your aunt?"

Mu Yan pressed her lips together, silent, but her face showed a worried expression.

She feared Kong Lizhen would be deceived by Qiu Shuyun, as her godmother inherently disliked her being with Jiang Jingheng.

Qiu Shuyun hurriedly said, "It’s fine, I don’t mind, Yanyan just has some misunderstandings about me."

Kong Lizhen calmly said, "It’s supposed to be like that. Even if your words aren’t right, you are still her aunt and an elder. Even if she doesn’t like you, she shouldn’t say such things outright."

Qiu Shuyun was just about to speak when she realized something was off. Thinking for a moment, her face instantly darkened.

What does this mean? Is this how you talk?

Kong Lizhen looked at Mu Yan and reprovingly said, "You child are talking nonsense. How is your aunt difficult to get along with? As soon as I arrived, she always talked to me and advised me not to let you divorce Jing Heng. I think she’s quite right. Divorce is not a trivial matter, and should not be taken lightly."
