Mu Yan hesitated for a moment but agreed.

It had been a long time since she last swam, and when she first got in the water, she still felt a bit scared.

Mu Yan snapped out of it and met Kong Lizhen’s concerned eyes. She smiled, "No, it’s just that I remembered some past events. Don’t laugh at me, godmother, I’m actually a little afraid of water."

"What’s there to laugh about? I used to be afraid of water too." Kong Lizhen looked nonchalant.

Mu Yan thought she was just comforting her and smiled slightly, not saying anything.

Knowing she didn’t believe it, Kong Lizhen explained, "I’m not joking with you. Because I was afraid of water before, I almost lost my daughter. So I vowed to learn to swim. That way, if she ever fell into the water again, I could save her."
