A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1544 - 1544: Always With The Dramatics

Archer found himself being kissed by Demetra, he shrugged and returned the gesture, making the shark woman was happy, thanks to feeling it through the dragon tattoo. After a few minutes, the couple separated. She then spoke, a big smile stretching across her face. ”Now that’s a perfect answer, handsome, now let’s destroy that fortress.”

He gave a nod of agreement, and in an instant, the two surged forward together toward the Alliance forces. Matching Demetra’s stride, he stayed by her side, moving in perfect sync. As they closed the distance, the battle erupted, a cascade of spells, mana bolts, and explosive shells filled the sky, descending upon them like a storm of raw magic and steel.

Without waiting, he waved his hand only for a violet shield to appear in front of the couple, blocking the wave of projectiles that exploded on contact. This didn’t slow them down as they closed in on the fortress, and he started casting Mana Blasts into the cannons lining the walls.

‘This should wipe out some of their artillery,’ he mused, dodging several spells that fizzled out. ‘Dem and I should be able to wipe them out if there isn’t any Pseudo Gods hiding inside.’

Moments later, a fresh wave of explosions rocked the battlefield as his magic struck, tearing the emplacements apart in a fiery blast. The shockwave gave Demetra the opening she needed; she shot forward like a missile, her body a blur as she vaulted onto the ramparts like a missile.

A savage grin twisted across her face, feral and full of bloodlust, tore into the Alliance soldiers. Steel clashed, screams rang out, and blood sprayed in arcs as she carved her way through the chaos. Moments later, he was at her side, leaping into the fray. While she dealt death with vicious glee, he hunted the stronger foes.

Archer’s claws shredded armour and flesh alike, each strike a blur of speed and power. His tail whipped behind him, cracking like a thunderclap and smashing enemies aside like ragdolls. The couple continued their slaughter as they washed over the fortress like a tidal wave of death.

By the time the fortress fell silent, every man and woman was slain, covering the ground in their blood. Archer was sitting in the courtyard, surrounded by dead bodies being dragged into the Domain by the Nightmare Worker Ants. He was relaxing while Demetra hunted down the survivors. Screams echoed from the basement of the main building in the fortress.

Once she was done, she made her way toward him. At that moment, the Demon Shark Princess enveloped him in a warm cuddle, her energy radiating through the air. Her voice sparkled with delight as she exclaimed. ”Thank you so much for letting me join, my charming hero! It was thrilling!”

”You’re welcome, gorgeous,” he responded as the two of them left the northern gate that was still burning. ”Let’s get going to the next town, I want to try their food and scout out more Alliance fortresses.”

”Let’s go!”

After that, the couple continued travelling down the road. While trekking across the countryside, they saw all the hallmarks of raiding: fields empty, hamlets burning thanks to the people refusing to hand over their stuff. His eyes narrowed when he saw dozens of rotting bodies lining a nearby ditch.

Archer felt sorry for the people and decided to do something for them. He waved his hand, and a tsunami of dirt washed over the corpses, giving all a proper burial, allowing them to move on to their next lives. Once complete, Demetra grabbed his hand, leading him toward the town in the far distance.

Just then, Aeris reappeared in front of them, an eerie smile stretching across her face as she completed the task before she transformed into her human form. Just then, dozens of people appeared behind her. When Archer saw this, he remembered the prisoners and quickly spoke to the crowd.

”Follow the road and you’ll find the village not far,” he revealed. ”Tell Jianyu the white haired guy sent you.”

As the crowd absorbed the news, a shared sense of purpose stirred them into action, their footsteps hitting the road as they fled to Jade Hollow Village and the tokens that would give them a better life. Archer felt a quiet thrill of satisfaction as the trio resumed walking. The crisp air carried the faint scent of pine and earth, grounding him in the moment.

To his surprise and delight, Aeris looped her arm through his left while Demetra claimed his right arm with a playful grin. Their presence on either side of him sparked a warmth that spread through his chest, making him smile. ”You know,” he said. ”There’s nothing quite like these moments with you two.”

When the duo heard this, they beamed as the Demon Shark beauty tip toed and kissed him on the cheek. Archer felt a shock run through his body but the the Dark Wraith did the same thing. He chuckled before slapping both women on the asses, continuing toward the next town.

Hours passed and the trio spotted a settlement far in the distance, prompting him to comment. ”Looks like the Alliance has reached this place already, it’s a shame but its not surprising, they tend to move fast when it comes to me.”

Archer was looking at a well fortified town that had new wall built around it, lined with cannons, soldiers and all kind of weaponry. His eyebrow rose in curiosity just as Aeris spoke up. barely containing her excitement. ”I can destroy the cannons if you like husband, it will be easy if I use my other form.”

”Sounds good to me,” he replied. ”Just make sure you’re careful, they might have light mages lurking.”

Demetra agreed. ”I want to see you fight, it will be fun seeing a Dark Wraith taking on the Alliance forces.”

After hearing their agreement, a sudden chill swept through the air, sharp and invigorating, Archer turned to Aeris, who had a mischievous glint in her red eyes, shifted into her wraith form. Her figure dissolved into a mist, her essence blending with the shadows cast by the towering pines.

The temperature plummeted, leaving a frosty bite in the air that prickled Archer’s skin and made him laugh. ”Always with the dramatics, it’s one of the reasons I love her,” he warmly revealed.

Her playful disappearance drew a wide, knowing smile from him, his eyes full of amusement at her familiar antics. Beside him, Demetra chuckled softly, nudging his shoulder as they veered off the path toward a stone outcrop. The smooth rock offered a perfect perch, granting them an unobstructed view of the fortified town nestled below.

Archer got comfortable on the rocky outcrop, his sharp eyes tracking the chaos unfolding below as the defences buckled under Aeris’s onslaught. The air pulsed with the force of explosions, each one shaking the stone walls to their foundations. Her shadowy body darted through the battlefield, leaving trails of inky darkness that seemed to devour the light itself.

Soldiers fell before her in droves, their weapons shattered, their armour torn asunder by her claws, blood flowing freely. Even the sturdy stone ramparts crumbled under her, chunks of masonry crashing to the ground in clouds of dust. When the town’s elite guardians appeared to meet her, their confidence was short-lived.

Aeris descended upon them, her movements a blur. Blood sprayed in vivid arcs, staining the cobblestones and transforming the streets into a grim scene of carnage. The town, once a beacon of order, now teetered on the edge of collapse, its defenders powerless against the wraith.

Beside Archer, Demetra watched the slaughter with rapt fascination, her body taut, barely restrained excitement. Her yellow eyes glowed, reflecting the flickering flames and chaos below. The scent of blood and smoke seemed to ignite something inside, lips parting in a toothy grin, betraying her predatory nature.

She turned to him, her voice a low, eager purr laced with a hunger for battle. ”Can I go fight please, handsome?” she asked, words dripping with anticipation.

Archer’s lips quirked into a half-smile as he gave a slow nod. ”Go for it, Dem. I’ll join you soon.”

Her eyes flashed with delight, and a wild laugh echoing over the noise, Demetra sprang into action, powerful legs launched her toward the town in a single bound, her body soaring through the air. She landed on the wall, impact sending a tremor through the stone. A captain of the guard barely had time to register before she was upon him.

Demetra’s teeth ripped through his defences, shredding steel and flesh alike. The captain’s body hit the ground in a broken heap, blood pooling beneath him as she let out a triumphant roar, her gaze already locking onto her next prey. The battlefield was her domain now, and she revelled in the chaos, a perfect complement to Aeris’s destruction.

Archer watched as the two women went mad, tearing through the enemy defences with ease. ‘Looks like they won’t need my help,’ he mused.
