A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1270: I Didn’t Need It, But Thank You

Chapter 1270: I Didn’t Need It, But Thank You

Archer was standing by the window while watching the desert as Halime was sleeping and Llyniel was busy working with the stuff they found in the cave, which amused him as she looked cute while focusing.

‘I’ll see her tomorrow, but I should go see if there are any more monsters to capture for the army,’ he mused.

With that thought, he sent a wave of mana across the Death Sands and sensed dozens of powerful creatures lurking below the surface, but none caught his eye. He sighed before noticing the wood elf had finished her work.

‘Let’s return them to the Domain before heading back to Avidia,’ he thought before approaching the brunette.

Llyniel looked up with a big smile as she asked in a sweet voice with sounded like a soft bell to his ears, ”Can I head back to my lab, please? I want to study some of the new findings more in-depth. They might be useful in creating better stuff for the kingdom.”

Archer chuckled when hearing this and summoned Halime into his arms who were sleeping peacefully before the three returned to his realm. When the wood elf saw the satisfied snake woman, she looked at him with her big brown eyes.

”Should I expect a visit from you soon, my love?” she asked with a hopeful voice.

”Yes. I’m going to check on the others and be back once I’m done with that,” he answered, which made Llyniel smile.

Following that, he teleported to Halime’s room and made sure she was comfortable and the elf was happily working in the lab he created for her in the deep woods. Once that was all done, he returned to Teuila’s and Sera’s camp, where the two women were debating over something in their tent.

Archer chuckled before speaking, which made them jump. ”Hello, ladies. What are you arguing over? I hope it’s nothing serious. I wouldn’t want to punish you both, or would I?” he looked at the two with glowing violet eyes.

The redhead practically jumped out of her skin with a startled yelp, her tail shooting straight like a board. After a moment of frantic blinking, she scowled at him, crossing her arms with a growl.

”Idiot,” she muttered.

Teuila giggled at the reaction before chiming in, ”We’re strategizing how to take down the last fortress. It’s heavily defended and, oh yeah, they have dragon-killing weapons—so, you know, a minor inconvenience for the gremlin here.”

When Archer heard this, his eyebrow rose in interest as he suggested before Sera could explode, ”I can give you a few thousand Void Worms who could burrow below the main walls and bring them down. That would nullify their numbers’ advantage and throw them into chaos.”

As the words left his lips, their eyes widened in shock, but Sera suddenly launched herself at him with glowing ruby-red eyes full of love and excitement. He quickly grabbed the dragon by her perky ass, who started peppering his face with love-filled kisses.

Teuila was giggling at the scene in front of her, but soon enough, the kissing became hot and heavy. Archer started making love to the two women who accepted everything as he got the blue-haired beauty involved, causing them to enjoy his company.

Once they were finished, he cast Cleanse on them all just as Teuila leaned up with a hazy expression and a pleased smile, ”We’ll rest but will use your plan to take the west once I feel better,” she said in a groggy voice.

After ensuring they would be fine, Archer kissed them gently before stepping back. With a flicker of mana, he teleported away, reappearing at a fortified outpost on the border of a dark, eerie swamp.

The moment he arrived, his gaze swept over the familiar sight of Talila and Elara standing nearby. As soon as the silver-haired elf laid eyes on him, her face lit up with pure joy, her emerald eyes shimmering with excitement.

”Evening husband, what brings you here? It’s not that I’m complaining, just surprised,” she asked in a soft voice.

”It’s good to see you, Tali,” he said, stepping closer before capturing her lips in a deep, passionate kiss. As they parted, his gaze softened. ”I thought I’d stop by to check on you and Lara, but I also missed you both.”

Talila beamed and wrapped her arms around Archer, holding him close. Just as she did, a dragonkin woman strode into the tent, speaking without noticing his presence at first. ”Tal, the guards are reporting sightings of strange monsters lurking in the swamp. Do you want to go check it out?”

Elara stopped mid-sentence, her sharp eyes finally locking onto him. A knowing smile spread across her lips as she chuckled. ”I had a feeling you’d be here, husband. Sorry for interrupting,” she said, her tone warm and teasing.

Talila jumped up once she was done and stretched before speaking to the dragonkin woman. ”I’ll still go, sister. I need to run for a bit to get some exercise.”

Archer chuckled at her energy and quickly kissed the silver-haired elf as she rushed out of the tent. Once gone, he turned to Elara while asking. ”How’s things out here in the east? Any problems?”

The woman smiled at his question before sitting down and letting out a sigh, ”Boring, there haven’t been many enemies. The ones we found are scouts and local peasants taking up arms against us.”

”Well, that’s good, then? The West was chaos. If I remember correctly, the others have been battling nonstop and are overworked,” he said while taking out some ale and giving it to the redhead.

She accepted the drink, and the duo began sipping as Elara recounted everything they had been up to since leaving Emberport days ago. She spoke of their journey, their challenges, and the preparations of the 1st Legion, who were now readying scouts.

”But I’ll have to leave you here for a while, handsome,” she said with a frown. ”The commanders want to have a meeting about the upcoming battles.”

He smoked when hearing this and nodded in agreement. ”That’s good. Instead of rushing into everything like Sera, at least you’ll be prepared.

Elara nodded with a big smile before leaving the tent. Archer watched her leave and when she was gone he activated Mana Manipulation, his form fading into invisibility before vanishing in an instant.

‘Let’s go check on Tali and these strange monsters,’ he mused.

Seconds later, Archer reappeared beside Talila, who was gracefully leaping through the trees carefully avoiding the monsters lurking in the murky waters below. ‘She’s careful,’ he thought with a curious expression. ‘Let’s follow her for a while.’

Following that, Archer observed her through the swamp as she searched for the enemy and soon found her prey. The brown-skinned woman shot a dozen powerful arrows at something that he couldn’t see yet.

When Archer caught sight of the monsters Talila was fighting, his eyes widened in shock. ‘Upgraded Blightborns?!’ he thought, realization hitting him like a bolt of lightning.

Moments later, the creature lunged toward her with a sudden, unnatural burst of speed, causing her to jump to the side just in time. She barely had time to react, her stance shifting as she braced for the attack, surprise flashing across her face.

Archer’s eyes narrowed as more creatures lunged at Talila from all sides, their sheer numbers threatening to overwhelm her. Without hesitation, he vanished in a flash, reappearing between her and the oncoming Blightborns.

He unleashed a Mana Blast, the raw mana exploding outward in a brilliant surge of pure power. The shockwave tore through the creatures, ripping them apart in an instant. After they were all dead, Talila’s voice reached his ears.

”What are you doing here, handsome?” she asked with wide eyes.

As the dust settled, Archer turned to her with a smirk. ”You looked like you could use a hand.”

She let out a small huff before responding, but he didn’t miss the radiant smile that followed. ”I didn’t need it, but thank you.”

Noticing her reaction, he stepped closer and wrapped the elf in a warm embrace. Talila melted into his arms, savoring the moment before he gently pulled away. ”I’ll leave you be now. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.”

Following that, she suddenly gave him a big kiss and cuddle, which caught him off guard. ”I love you Archer Wyldheart.”

Hearing her words, his smile deepened with warmth before he pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. ”I love you too, Tali,” he whispered.

The young woman’s heart swelled, a smile lighting up her face. But before she could fully savor the moment, Archer took her left hand, his touch gentle yet steady. As he pulled out a small box, her breath caught in her throat.

Then, in the sweetest, most earnest voice, he asked, ”Tali, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
