A Farmer's Journey To Immortality
Chapter 934: Future Plans P5
There were no talismanic diagrams or pill recipes in the third jade scroll.
Instead, a series of strange Mantras appeared inside his Sea of Consciousness.
They were vague, extremely difficult to understand.
Some of the chants seemed to describe flames.
Others talked about the relationship between fire and the heavens, the birth and destruction of heat, the transformation of flames, and the strange relationship between fire and other elements.
But none of them provided straightforward explanations.
Aksai frowned.
"What is this?"
Nuri immediately began analyzing the contents.
[My Liege, the Mantras appear to be associated with a Fire-element Dao Path.]
"Dao Path?"
Aksai’s expression became serious.
He continued reading.
Under every Mantra was another section.
It contained explanations.
Some were short while others were incredibly detailed.
Different Spirit cultivators had apparently interpreted the same Mantra from different perspectives. Some explanations focused on elemental laws while others discussed Intent.
Furthermore, some Mantras explored the relationship between fire and the physical world. Or was this a relationship between the physical world and illusory world of fire? Aksai couldn’t tell. Even for Nuri, such Mantras were difficult to decrypt in a short time without understanding the full context.
There were even interpretations concerning the relationship between Spirit Essence, the Soul, and elemental laws.
Aksai read faster.
Then he suddenly stopped as his eyes widened, finding an explanation under a very cryptic Mantra.
The explanation given under this particular Mantra was explained in bits and pieces. And these pieces were divided into many parts– from Spirit Gathering realm to Nascent Soul realm.
"Nuri."
Aksai’s gaze remained fixed on the jade scroll as he asked to confirm.
"That explanation..."
[The source is a Nascent Soul cultivator.]
Aksai’s fingers tightened around the jade scroll. He immediately checked another Mantra that was in the series of the previous Mantra in a verse.
Again.
The highest-ranked explanation beneath it came from a true Nascent Soul cultivator.
He checked a third.
The same.
A fourth.
Again.
This was huge. If one were to grasp these explanations, their elemental attainments related to fire would become exceptional. If a late-stage Lord were to understand and use these acquired elemental attainments to cast a fire-element Spell, that spell would likely break the boundaries of the Core Formation realm.
However, the biggest benefit of understanding these explanations and turning them into one’s own comprehension would lie in its ability to loosen up the bottleneck leading towards the Nascent Soul realm.
Aksai’s breathing became slightly heavier. Even though his fire-element attainments were not significant, he still made use of them. Even if his wood-element Spirit Root Aptitude wasn’t really compatible with the fire-element attainments, he could still make use of them to empower his fire-element spells by leaps and bounds.
Aksai controlled his excitement and kept reading the scroll.
Every Mantra had multiple interpretations. Because this particular set of instructions came from a genuine Nascent Soul cultivator, they were extremely detailed and yet were surprisingly easy to understand.
Turns out the more one understands something, the easier it is for them to simplify it in ways that even a hopeless idiot would gain something from it.
Aksai swallowed.
"This..."
He slowly lowered the jade scroll.
"This is THE core inheritance of Kalina’s faction. It has to be."
There was no doubt anymore.
The talismanic inheritance from the previous scroll might have been useful. But this was fundamentally different.
This wasn’t simply a cultivation technique but a collection of accumulated Dao comprehension.
"Well... I would have been worried about the possible backlash coming from Kalina’s imperial faction. If I hadn’t come across Varesh and his pals, I would have handed these jade scrolls to someone else to stir the trouble away.
"But... since I have already killed so many imperial bastards and offended multiple imperial factions, it doesn’t matter anymore. I’ll gladly keep this scroll to myself and study it diligently when I find time."
By now, Aksai had already gained far more from Kalina’s jade scrolls than he had initially expected. But he hoped to find even more surprises.
Without wasting time, Aksai injected Spirit Essence into the 4th jade scroll.
A massive amount of information immediately poured into his Sea of Consciousness.
His eyes widened.
"Connate Spells?"
That was exactly what the fourth scroll contained.
Unlike the first scroll, which focused primarily on the cultivation technique itself, this inheritance focused entirely on the development of Connate Spells. It had to be noted that this scroll was a supplement to Kalina’s original Connate technique.
All the Spells mentioned in this scroll could be awakened by practising the Connate technique in a certain way.
In a way, this scroll was like a blueprint for evoking the Connate Spells one wanted from their Connate techniques. It described how one could cultivate specific Intents to raise their chances of awakening a particular Connate technique.
In simple words, if the Connate technique was like a compressed file with multiple Connate Spells zipped within it, this particular scroll was like an app that let one open up the said compressed file and let out the Spells they wanted to unzip.
Furthermore, this jade scroll also contained various supplementary explanations related to their respective Spells.
There were also detailed methods for integrating refined Intent into Connate Spells.
There were also techniques for modifying the structure of a Spell without damaging its original Essence Equation Rune framework.
Some methods allowed cultivators to extract secondary applications from an existing Connate Spell.
Others explained how a cultivator could use deeper elemental comprehension to evolve their Spell after reaching a new Spirit realm.
There were even records describing how ancient cultivators had developed different variations of the same Connate Spell.
Two cultivators could practice the same Connate technique and possess the same basic Connate Spell.
Yet after thousands of years of development, their versions could become completely different.
Their understanding of the same elemental laws could lead them down different paths.
Their Intent could shape their Spells differently.
Their experiences could cause them to discover entirely new applications.
Aksai couldn’t help but feel impressed.
"Interesting.... This scroll and Kalina’s fire-element Connate Technique complement each other.
"It seems the goal of a Connate Technique is to make a Spirit cultivator capable enough to develop their own Connate Spells and Connate Technique specifically custom-made for them.
If I had core fire-element Spirit Root Aptitude, I would have simply retreated into the Enchanted Everwood Farm for a very long time without having to worry about the impending chaos."
Aksai sighed at his fate that made him feel lucky and unlucky at the same time as he put the jade scroll down.
"Let’s move onto the 5th jade scroll."
The moment Aksai opened the 5th jade scroll, he was greeted by a completely different type of information.
In this jade scroll were countless illustrations.
Demon beasts.
Hundreds of them.
Aksai’s eyebrows rose.
"A bestiary?"
Nuri quickly analyzed the contents.
[It appears to be an imperial record of one hundred noteworthy demon beast species.]
Aksai’s eyes lit up. He immediately became interested as this kind of information was not available in the subcontinent.
The records weren’t simply arranged according to combat strength. The imperial cultivators had classified the demon beasts according to several factors.
Bloodline potential.
Rarity.
Combat ability.
Elemental affinity.
Evolution potential.
Habitat.
Intelligence.
Reproduction.
And most importantly...
The value of their bodies and how to process them.
The records described which parts of each demon beast could be harvested and how those materials could be used.
Aksai’s eyes practically glowed.
"Now this is useful."
He immediately started thinking about Enchanted Everwood Farm.
With this knowledge, he could cultivate valuable demon beasts much more easily on his farm.
He stored the fifth jade scroll away.
Then his gaze moved toward the final one.
This time, Aksai immediately saw something familiar.
Gu Insects.
Lots of them.
His expression became slightly strange.
"Don’t tell me..."
[Your guess is correct, my liege.]
Nuri’s voice carried a hint of amusement.
[This is another imperial classification record.]
Aksai looked at the jade scroll.
"The fuck.... Did someone tell Kalina to carry this scroll on her? Getting this scroll just when the Gu Insect Farm in my isolated dimension has gotten stabilized... How convenient! Is this related to the Fortune Boost I applied on myself after robbing it from Kalina?"
[One hundred notable Gu Spirit Insect species.]
The records explained their growth cycles.
Feeding habits.
Reproduction.
Elemental affinities.
Poison properties.
Special abilities.
Evolutionary conditions.
Mutation possibilities.
And the resources they could produce.
This scroll was particularly useful for him.
