Chapter 768 768: Using Astral Eye to Identify Hidden Enemies P2
One had to note that the Core Formation Lords rarely relied on guilds to do their bidding.
Many of them preferred to remain in seclusion and cultivate quietly. Others hunted Spirit resources privately without making public requests.
Not to mention, the Lords had their own major sects and other smaller organizations to rely on. It was only when their own organizations were overwhelmed with tasks would the Lords look for alternate options in the forms of guilds.
Most importantly, there were not many Lords in the past to begin with. Also, the Lords belonging to righteous and demonic factions never really approached the other side for such missions.
Because of this, missions related to 3rd Order demon beasts were naturally limited. But at this point, the situation was different.
Aksai slowly counted the missions on the screen.
His own guild was currently hosting nearly ninety active missions related to 3rd Order demon beasts. Some were open missions waiting for cultivators to accept them. Others were already ongoing tasks being handled by guild teams.
The number was unusually high.
Aksai stood quietly among the crowd while watching the glowing list of missions.
His expression remained calm, but his mind was already working. This spike in requests was too large to ignore.
‘Hmm? I don’t get it. What are these five kingdoms up to?’
Aksai thought silently. His eyes slowly moved across the spectral screen again.
‘Why do they need so many Spirit resources from 3rd Order demon beasts? Aren’t they part of a secular structure in the subcontinent that sees itself as relatively isolated from the rest of the Spirit cultivators?
‘Not to mention the fact that the 3rd Order demon beasts don’t even come out of the Duya Forest anymore. The Verdant Elder I encountered in the Duya Forest was an exception among exceptions.
‘And even then, I mainly managed to kill it because it had barely survived its celestial tribulation. Today, Duya Forest is mosty calm. And the next beast tide is also not anytime soon, which begs the question. How did the kingdom alliance get into a conflict with 3rd Order demon beasts?’
The Spirit farmer’s eyes remained calm, but a quiet thought had already formed in his mind. Something about the situation did not feel normal.
After a moment of silence, Aksai made a decision. He would investigate.
He slowly closed his eyes for a brief moment. Then he silently activated his Third Eye.
A faint and invisible ripple passed through his forehead. The power of his Astral Vision quietly spread out from him like an unseen wave.
The noisy guild hall did not change in the eyes of the other cultivators.
But in Aksai’s sight, the world became different. Faint threads of fate began to appear around the people inside the hall.Thin streams of light moved around the cultivators like soft currents of water. These were the traces of their destinies and future possibilities.
Aksai calmly activated his Fortune Telling Arts.
He began analyzing the fate patterns of the Experts belonging to his own guild.
Many fate threads appeared normal. Some cultivators had steady and balanced fates. Others had unstable paths that hinted at future struggles.
Aksai carefully observed the causes and outcomes connected to each fate thread.
His expression remained calm as he found average fates of average Spirit cultivators. There was nothing too inconspicuous that he needed to worry about.
However, after a few moments, something unusual appeared in his vision.
‘Now this is a bit abnormal. It seems these little bastards don’t owe their allegiance to Emerald Cove Island.’
Aksai’s eyes narrowed slightly. This was because there was a small group of cultivators standing near one of the smaller spectral screens.
Seven people.
They were all Foundation Establishment Experts. Under his Astral Vision, their fate threads showed something strange.
Normally, the fate of guild members was connected to the growth and safety of the guild. But these seven Experts had a different pattern.
Aksai watched their fate lines carefully. It appeared that their fate light would grow brighter whenever the Emerald Cove Guild experienced a setback. The stronger the setback, the brighter their fates would bloom.
It was as if their future benefits were directly tied to the guild’s losses.
Aksai quietly focused his Astral Vision on them. The seven Experts were currently gathered around a smaller spectral screen. They seemed to be studying a mission carefully.
Aksai followed their gaze. The mission on the screen was related to subjugating a 3rd Order demon beast.
The request had been released by one of the five major kingdoms. The reward listed on the screen was extremely generous.
Aksai’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Then, just as quickly, his expression returned to normal.
He silently deactivated the visible traces of his Third Eye, leaving only faint observation active. Instead of staring at the group directly, Aksai casually began walking around the guild hall.
He moved like an ordinary cultivator studying missions. From time to time he stopped in front of the smaller spectral screens placed around the hall.
These screens displayed detailed information about individual missions.
Aksai slowly read through several mission descriptions as if he was simply searching for work. After a while, he gradually walked closer to the group of seven Experts. None of them seemed to notice anything unusual.
Aksai stopped near another small spectral screen. Coincidentally, this screen was displaying the same mission the group was studying.
It showed the location of the demon beast. The battle requirements. The reward distribution.
And the battle formation provided by the kingdom authority that issued the request.
Aksai quietly read the details while standing beside the group. He seemed to be silently waiting for something in silence.
Just as he had expected, it did not take long for the group to notice him. One of the cultivators glanced at him.
She was a young woman at the Foundation Establishment stage. Her cultivation seemed stable and her eyes were sharp. After observing Aksai for a moment, she stepped closer.
“Friend, are you planning to take this mission?” she asked.
