A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 675 - 3rd Order Demon Tree’s Special Spirit Fruits

Chapter 675: 3rd Order Demon Tree’s Special Spirit Fruits

After a while, Aksai lowered his hands and slowly shut down the array.

The light faded. The hum disappeared.

Only the plants remained, standing taller and healthier than before.

Aksai let out a soft breath and allowed a small smile to form. “This will save a lot of time,” he thought.

The Neural Link Fabric confirmed the result.

A few days passed in harmony.

Aksai kept on working inside his farm in silence.

He undertook many projects to lay a foundation for his other projects related to alchemy, talisman creation, and even artifact creation. After his recent breakthrough, his Spirit Arts needed to be leveled up as well. And his farmland was the solid base on which he could undertake those projects.

When he was done with most of his work, he took some rest. After ensuring that everything was in order, he decided to move on with the next big thing in his agenda before his operation on kalingoot.

“It’s time to settle the Demon Tree in its new home now,” Aksai murmured to himself as he looked around the new zone. In the next moment, he raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

The space beside him rippled for a brief moment. In the next instant, the massive 3rd Order Demon Tree appeared in the middle of the zone. Its huge roots slammed into the ground, and the earth trembled softly as the tree settled itself.

This was the main Demon Tree that had also achieved a breakthrough into the 3rd Order along with Aksai in Martial World Sharang. After dealing with the Celestial Wrath head on, the tree had become even more powerful and sentient than before.

The Demon Tree was already close to two hundred meters tall, but the moment it touched the land, its roots dug deeper on their own. Dark red and brown roots spread in all directions like living veins. They drank in the rich 3rd Order Spirit essence without restraint.

The tree responded at once.

Its trunk thickened and darkened, turning almost black in some places. The bark became rough and solid, looking more like forged metal than wood. The tree began to grow taller, slowly but steadily, its branches pushing higher into the air.

Before long, it reached nearly three hundred meters in height.

Leaves rustled across its vast canopy. Along with its usual red and gray leaves, something new began to appear. Amber-colored leaves formed between the branches, glowing faintly under the light. Upon closer look, fine Essence Equation runes were etched naturally on their surfaces, as if the tree itself had carved them.

More vines grew from the trunk and branches. They were thicker than before and moved with quiet strength, swaying gently as if testing their surroundings.

Aksai closed his eyes.

Through his special connection with the Demon Tree, he felt its presence clearly. The tree’s consciousness had changed. It felt deeper, fuller, and more alert. Its thoughts were still simple, but no longer dull.

Earlier, the Demon Tree could only express basic needs. Hunger. Comfort. Rest. It was like a toddler who could only cry or move to show how it felt.

Now, it was different.

Aksai felt curiosity. A sense of excitement. A faint joy at growing stronger. The tree reacted to his presence with a soft pulse through their link, like a child reaching out to be noticed.

Aksai opened his eyes and looked up at the towering tree.

“You like it here, don’t you?” he said softly.

The Demon Tree’s vines swayed slightly, and its leaves rustled in response. The feeling that flowed back to him was clear. It was happy.

“Haha. Well… I’ll make you even happier. Aren’t you hungry? I’ll give you some treats.”

Aksai then raised both hands and focused his thoughts.

The ground around the Demon Tree began to shift. One by one, large Flesh Pumpkins appeared all around its massive roots. They emerged from the soil and space alike, filling the area in wide circles.

These were no ordinary Flesh Pumpkins.

Each one was a full 3rd Order Spirit resource. Their skins were thick and dark, marked with faint, moving runes that pulsed slowly. The pulp inside them looked like fresh meat, wet and heavy, as if filled with flowing blood.

Dense 3rd Order Spirit essence leaked from their bodies, thick enough to be felt in the air. It was as if the fruits were made of 3rd Order demonic beasts.

They were huge.

Each pumpkin was now larger than a small farmhouse, resting heavily on the ground. Thick vines connected them to the soil, showing the results of Aksai’s latest modifications over the past few days. The Flesh Pumpkin vines had grown tougher, smarter, and more efficient in this new zone.

The moment the Demon Tree sensed them, its reaction was instant. A strong feeling of hunger rushed through Aksai’s mind.

The Demon Tree’s vines shot forward in excitement. Dozens of thick vines moved at once, fast and eager. Some of these vines ended in strange mouths made of layered leaves. Sharp, thorn-like teeth lined their edges, hard and pointed like cactus spines.

The leaf-mouths bit into the Flesh Pumpkins.

Crunch.

The teeth pierced the thick skins without trouble. The vines pushed deeper and began to drink. Rich essence, blood-like fluid, and pure Spirit energy were pulled out in steady streams.

The Demon Tree absorbed everything greedily.

More vines joined in. Hundreds of them moved together, spreading across the field like living shadows. The Flesh Pumpkins shook as their essence was drained, their bodies slowly shrinking.

In just a short time, the once-full pumpkins collapsed in on themselves. Their thick skins sagged and wrinkled. They looked like empty shells, like balloons that had lost all air.

Aksai watched quietly.

Through their connection, he felt the Demon Tree’s joy. Its hunger faded, replaced by deep satisfaction. Its roots dug even deeper into the ground, and its trunk gave off a faint pulse, slow and strong.

The amber leaves above shimmered softly. Aksai nodded to himself.

The Demon Tree had accepted the 3rd Order Flesh Pumpkins fully. With food like this, its growth and awareness would only speed up at an accelerated rate.

The Demon Tree slowly calmed down after absorbing all the Flesh Pumpkins. Its massive trunk gave off a deep, steady pulse, like a slow heartbeat. The vines stopped thrashing and settled into gentle movements.

Then something new happened.

From between the thick branches, small shapes began to form.

Dozens of strange fruits grew in silence. They were shaped like pineapples, but much smaller, no bigger than a tomato. Their skin was smooth and red, deep in color, with a faint shine to it.

Dense Spirit essence wrapped around each fruit like a thin mist. Soft, unclear patterns floated around them, forming and breaking apart again and again.

Aksai watched with interest.

One thick vine moved forward and carefully plucked a single fruit. The vine stretched toward Aksai and placed the fruit into his open palm.

At the same time, a clear thought entered his mind.

’Eat it, master.’

Aksai blinked in surprise. He looked down at the fruit in his hand.

The moment it touched his skin, the mist around it started to fade. The floating patterns slowly vanished, as if the fruit was losing its outer shell.

’Hurry,’ the Demon Tree urged again.

Aksai brought the fruit close and smelled it. The scent was strange but pleasant. It was sweet and sour at the same time, fresh and clean.

Curious, he placed the fruit in his mouth. And it melted instantly.

There was no chewing needed. The flesh turned into warm liquid and spread across his tongue. The taste was rich but gentle. Sweet at first, then slightly sour, leaving a fresh feeling behind. Even after swallowing, the scent lingered in his mouth and nose.

Aksai waited.

One breath passed.

Then another.

Nothing happened.

Aksai frowned slightly. He began to wonder if the fruit was just a rare but simple Spirit fruit meant for taste rather than cultivation.

But after more than ten minutes, something changed. Aksai felt a stir deep inside his body.

His Dantian trembled softly. His Spirit Core began to spin faster, much faster than usual. It pulled in Spirit essence from the surroundings like a thirsty beast drinking from a lake.

The air around him grew thin.

Spirit essence rushed toward him from all directions. His body absorbed far more than usual. Most of it spread out and faded away, but a part of it stayed behind, sinking into his Spirit Core.

Minutes passed.

Slowly, the spinning stopped.

Aksai opened his eyes wide. He could clearly feel it. His Spirit essence reserves had grown. And not by a small amount.

They were now about one-tenth larger than before.

Aksai sucked in a sharp breath.

“How… how can this be?”
