A Dragon against the Whole World

Chapter 722: Chapter 423: Holy Ora Era, Time and Gears_3
Golden Dragon Nasha crossed her arms, looking at the lively Red Iron Dragon in the sky, laughing so hard she almost bent over.
"Galos, honestly."
"I think this little Elf Dragon enjoys life much more than you do."
She teased, "You should really learn from her to have some fun with those young dragons who admire you, instead of avoiding them like the plague."
Galos shook his head helplessly.
Although he felt Vera was ruining his image, he didn’t plan to stop her.
At least, this method effectively solved his troubles for the moment.
All attention was attracted by the "Galos" in the sky, and no dragon noticed the real Red Iron Dragon on the beach.
"Let her have her fun."
"After all," Galos looked at the bouncing version of himself in the distance, "it’s nice to have some peace and quiet for a while."
He shifted his attention to his companions: "I’m quite interested in that largest library in the Eternal Radiance Dragon Domain."
"When I went there before, I barely had time to take a look before being interrupted by the dragons who got wind of it."
"I remember it holds some knowledge not included in my heritage, so now’s a good chance to take a closer look."
The sunset slowly descended, dyeing the clouds at the horizon a magnificent orange-red.
Meanwhile, Elf Dragon Vera, still enjoying the admiration of all dragons, showed no signs of stopping.
Galos did not delay any longer.
He quietly left the noisy beach, now gradually enveloped by dusk, with Deborah, Alberto, and other companions.
Behind them, they could still clearly hear Vera’s boastful mimicry of his deep voice, along with the youthful Metal Dragons’ intermittent exclamations and calls of admiration.
Several minutes later.
Galos and his companions arrived in front of a magnificent library known as the "Dragon Sleep Corridor."
The grandeur of this library far surpassed any book repository in the Mortal Realm.
It was not made of ordinary bricks and mortar but was naturally formed by numerous enormous, still-living ancient dragon trees, lush with foliage intertwining and growing. ℯℯ𝑙.
The high-vaulted ceiling flowed with natural magic runes between the leaves, exuding a sense of timelessness.
The library’s interior was unimaginably vast.
Bookshelves as thick as could be embraced by dozens rose from the ground, densely packed with books.
However, contrasting with its grand scale, the interior of this temple of knowledge seemed rather deserted.
Aside from Galos and his companions, glancing around, there were only a scant ten or so Giant Dragons present, most of whom had the poised demeanor of adult dragons or even older members of the Dragon Race.
Few dragons showed the same enthusiasm for immersing themselves in libraries and browsing tomes as other short-lived species do.
The knowledge passed down to them was more than enough to occupy their time.
Galos’s attention was captivated by the multitude of books.
"About the First Epoch when the Dragon Race ruled the world, those mysterious histories that were vague or entirely absent in my heritage memory, I wonder if there might be any fragment of record here."
He mused inwardly, beginning to stroll leisurely through this serene and dignified forest of bookshelves, his gaze sweeping over rows of spines, some ancient, some brand new.
Before long, Galos’s eyes were drawn to a book bound in a simplistic, ancient style.
[The Dragon Race Covenant of the Ola Era]
The word "Ola" in the ancient Dragon Language contained multiple meanings such as "sacred," "origin," and "glorious."
The First Epoch when the Dragon Race ruled the world was also often called the "Holy Ola Era."
Galos unconsciously slowed his steps, extending his hand to gently draw this thick tome from the shelf and held it in his hands, carefully examining its cover and title page.
However, after perusing it slightly, he couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed.
The book did indeed recount some details and events not mentioned in his heritage memory, but the content was mostly conventional, skewing towards official records, without touching upon the truly dust-covered, potentially far-reaching secrets he aimed to explore.
Overall, it lacked content that might suddenly illuminate his understanding.
Galos gently closed the book, putting it back in its place, and emerged from his focused reading state.
He instinctively glanced around but found that Deborah, Alberto, and Nasha, who had been keeping close, had somehow disappeared without a trace, wandering off to explore some other bookshelf area.
Galos did not find this strange.
In this ocean of knowledge, exploring and discovering based on individual interest was entirely normal.
He chose not to deliberately seek out his companions but rather elected to venture alone deeper into the library, heading towards those areas that appeared older and more obscure.
Concurrently, he vaguely sensed that the surrounding environment seemed to have become... extraordinarily quiet.
Previously, he could still hear faint conversations in the distance, the subtle sound of pages turning, and even the deep, steady breaths of other Giant Dragons, but now it all seemed to have utterly ceased.
Yet Galos seemed unaware of this.
Absentmindedly, he stopped in a relatively secluded, dimly lit corner.
Here appeared to be a forgotten tranquil spot within the entire vast library.
A table, naturally formed by intertwined, crystalline roots, lay quietly there.
Next to the table sat a man clad in a simple linen robe.
