A Dragon against the Whole World
Chapter 700 - 418: Wild Martial Dragon
Chapter 700: Chapter 418: Wild Martial Dragon
Galos slowly stretched his majestic dragon body.
He had just completed a round of high-intensity training, every muscle covered with black-red scale armor bulging like forged steel, radiating waves of heat from his body.
However, his eyes remained bright and full of spirit, showing no sign of fatigue.
Beside the Red Iron Dragon, the Red Silver Dragon Deborah, who was compelled to train alongside him, was in a different state.
Her long and beautiful dragon tail was slightly spasming, her chest heaving violently, breathing heavily like an old bellows, collapsed on the ground, lacking even the will to raise a paw, seeming only to want to become one with the earth.
According to Galos’s usual habit, he would continue training alone for a longer time.
But this time, he unusually stopped.
The Red Iron Dragon quietly crouched in place, slightly closing his eyes, gradually adjusting his breathing to a deep and steady rhythm, his whole aura gradually becoming restrained and settled.
He was preparing for the upcoming challenge in the Metal Dragon Domain.
Thinking of the distant and unfamiliar sky, at this moment many excellent young Metal Dragons were fighting for a chance to face him... This feeling, though not enough to make Galos feel flattered, made him believe that he needed to give due attention to the challenger who would stand out and eventually face him.
And the way he showed respect for challengers was always direct and simple.
— To go all out.
Several hours quietly passed in silence.
The Red Silver Dragon Deborah finally regained some strength, struggling to prop herself up from the ground.
Galos still sat silent, breathing steadily and serenely without disturbance, exuding an aura of perfect fullness and readiness, as if a volcano about to erupt was contained within.
Deborah took a breath, gazing at Galos’s magnificent silhouette.
She knew very well that it wouldn’t be long before the Red Iron Dragon would set off for the Metal Dragon Domain.
He’s going to face those peers of Metal Dragons who were born with a golden key, under spotlight and expectation, to meet the challenge initiated by the strongest among them.
He might even be scrutinized and evaluated by some ancient and powerful Metal Dragons.
"Galos..."
She spoke softly, her voice still carrying a hint of hoarseness and fatigue from the training, "Are you completely ready? I mean, to go to the Dragon Domain and face the challenges there."
Galos slowly opened his eyes, turning his gaze to her: "Why do you ask?"
Deborah hesitated for a moment, organizing her words, then said: "The Dragon Domain... and the wilderness, and the Border Area, are completely different places."
"In the wilderness and Border Area, we adhere to the most primitive, the simplest rule: power is truth, the strong reign. But in the Dragon Domain, especially in the strictly hierarchical, rule-filled Eternal Radiance Dragon Domain, power isn’t the sole standard for everything."
"As a Metal Dragon myself, I’m fully aware... Many Metal Dragons are born with a deep-seated sense of superiority, I’m worried they might look down on you because of your Five-Colored Dragon heritage and Iron Dragon bloodline, or even deliberately make things difficult for you."
"Although Elder Ovis holds you in high regard, other elders from the Dragon Domain, and the proud and high-minded young generation of Giant Dragons, may not all be convinced, and this time you are going as a ’challenged one,’ putting you in the spotlight of all attention."
She paused, lowering her voice further.
"Even the moderate and inclusive faction dragons, deep down may find it hard to accept someone with Evil Dragon bloodline, claiming the championship glory that should belong to the Metal Dragons, with such a dominant demeanor."
"And those with extreme views from the Purification Faction Dragons, their reaction will only be more intense, possibly even hostile."
Deborah recalled the occasional mentions by her parents about the internal conflicts and disputes within the Dragon Domain, a tint of worry appearing on her face armor.
She wasn’t concerned about Galos’s strength being insufficient, only worried that he might be unnecessarily entangled in troubles due to prejudice or the rules.
Hearing her concern, Galos let out a deep, magnetic chuckle.
"Deborah, what do you think has allowed me to come this far, to build the Molten Iron Tribe, and to rule the entire Sel Wilderness?"
Without waiting for Deborah to respond, he gave his own answer: "It’s power."
"The purest, most direct power."
"In the survival-of-the-fittest wilderness, power made me an undisputed king."
"In the rule-laden Dragon Domain, I believe strong power will likewise earn me the respect I deserve, even if that respect is mixed with jealousy, fear, or unwillingness."
He looked into Deborah’s eyes, softening his tone a bit.
"Rest assured, I understand your concerns and the main purpose of this trip."
"To win the wager for Ovis, to obtain the championship prize, and the opportunity to enter the Eternal Tides, everything else is secondary, I know how to gauge things."
"Besides, I won’t stay in the Dragon Domain for long; I’ll leave immediately after achieving my goals."
The voice of the Red Iron Dragon was steady, carrying a reassuring conviction.
The worry in the Red Silver Dragon’s eyes melted away with his words.
"I’m going with you! I want to cheer for you personally!"
Deborah’s voice rose, with a hint of excitement, "I want to see with my own eyes, how you fiercely bring down the strongest among the young generation of Metal Dragons! That scene will surely be magnificent!"
