A Cunning Pervert in the Cultivation World
Chapter 642: Shadow’s Fear
Chapter 642: Chapter 642: Shadow’s Fear
Li Feng continued walking above the clouds for a while before suddenly stopping.
Something was slowly appearing in the empty space before him.
At first, it was only a faint distortion in the air, almost as if the space itself had been disturbed.
Then, a dark aura gradually gathered around it, growing denser with each passing moment.
Li Feng watched quietly as the familiar presence slowly took shape.
Soon, a figure stepped out from the darkness.
It was Shadow.
"~"
"Oh? You’re back already?"

After listening to everything Shadow had heard and seen while spying on the cloaked figure who called himself Dark Beast, Li Feng rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"And a Rain Pavilion, huh?"
He knew about them.
After all, Purple Death had come from that organization.
"I didn’t expect my reputation to have already spread so far that someone would even come looking for revenge against me."
Li Feng smiled, seemingly amused by the thought.
He also knew that he was partly responsible for the deaths of that group of Silver Rank assassins that he had encountered at the Border Fortress when he was on his way to the capital.
Although he hadn’t personally killed every one of them, he had been the reason they had ended up in that situation in the first place.
The Rain Pavilion obviously didn’t know about Shadow’s existence.
As far as they knew, the group of Silver Rank assassins had simply been killed after coming into conflict with him.
"So they probably figured out that I must have had something to do with it."
Li Feng rubbed his chin again.
"Looks like they really don’t like me now."
But then he couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Well, I guess that’s understandable."
After all, if someone killed a group of your people, it would be strange if you didn’t hold a grudge.
That was also one of the reasons Li Feng had decided not to kill those two, Dark Beast and Viper.
He understood the way of cultivation all too well.
If he killed one person, someone else might come looking for revenge.
Then he would kill that person, and another would eventually appear.
And if things continued like that, sooner or later, some hidden ancestor or old monster might emerge from seclusion just to settle the score.
Li Feng didn’t want to deal with that kind of trouble.
He sighed inwardly.
"There will be no end to it."
Unless there was a reason to completely eliminate someone, there was no need to keep creating enemies for himself.
Of course, if they are truly seeking death again after this, he would gladly give it to them.
After all, there is always a limit to his patience.
Besides, thanks to Shadow’s investigation, he already knew about the Rain Pavilion’s scheme.
They had deliberately mentioned a certain prince in front of him, hoping to plant suspicion in his mind and make him suspect the royal family.
Unfortunately for them, their plan had already been exposed.
Li Feng wasn’t going to fall for it.
"So that’s their little scheme..."
He shook his head.
As long as they didn’t involve him, he had no reason to interfere with the princes or investigate the matter further.
After all, the prince had not done anything to him personally.
"Everyone can play their own games."
Li Feng shrugged.
"As long as they don’t drag me into it, I’ll pretend I know nothing."
He wasn’t interested in getting involved in the internal struggles of the Fen Dynasty’s royal family.
Li Feng’s expression relaxed as he finished thinking about the Rain Pavilion, but when he looked at Shadow again, he suddenly frowned.
Something seemed strange about Shadow.
Shadow was standing respectfully in front of him as usual, but it had been keeping its head slightly lowered the entire time.
More importantly, Shadow hadn’t looked him in the eyes even once.
Li Feng stared at Shadow for a moment before finally asking,
"What’s wrong with you? Why won’t you look at me?"
Shadow’s body stiffened slightly.
Ever since his future self had descended and used Shadow’s Authority, it had been acting strangely around him.
Before that incident, Shadow had always been energetic and easygoing.
It would always want to accompany him wherever he went and had never seemed uncomfortable around him.
But after returning from that incident...
Shadow had started avoiding his gaze.
Whenever Li Feng looked at it, Shadow would quietly lower its head.
Whenever he approached, Shadow would subtly move away.
Even after the fun times he spent with Purple Death, the moment Li Feng finished, Shadow would immediately leave and follow Purple Death, almost as if...
It had been deliberately avoiding him.
Li Feng had noticed it for some time, but he had been too busy dealing with everything else to ask about it.
Shadow remained silent, keeping its head lowered while nervously holding its hands together.
Seeing this, Li Feng couldn’t help but sigh.
He could clearly tell that something was bothering Shadow, but it seemed unwilling to say anything about it.
"Shadow."
His voice softened as he looked at it.
"If something is bothering you, you can tell me. You don’t have to be afraid of me, and you don’t have to hide anything from me."
Shadow’s fingers tightened slightly.
Li Feng paused for a moment before giving it a faint smile.
"We’re family, aren’t we?"
Hearing that, Shadow’s body trembled slightly.
Li Feng continued sincerely, "So if something happened, just tell me. Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out together."
As he spoke, he gently patted Shadow’s head.
Shadow remained silent for several seconds, but its tense fingers slowly loosened.
The word "family" seemed to have struck something deep within it.
Shadow remained silent for a few more moments before slowly lifting its head.
It only raised its gaze slightly, just enough to glance at Li Feng’s face.
Through their connection, Li Feng suddenly felt a faint wave of emotion coming from Shadow.
It was nervousness... and something else.
Then Shadow’s voice quietly entered his mind through their connection.
Li Feng blinked as he looked at Shadow in confusion.
"You’re... scared?"
"...~"
Shadow lowered its head again, seemingly embarrassed by its own words.
Li Feng stared at it for a moment, still unable to understand.
"What are you scared of?"
Shadow remained silent, and the faint emotions coming through their connection became even more complicated.
Then, Li Feng’s confusion only deepened after getting the answer.
"...Me?"
