A Cannon Fodder Survival Guide In The Cultivation World!
Chapter 82: Corridor of Hidden Arts
"Senior Brother, that’s too unethical! First you followed a beauty and now you’re following Master."
"Earlier, I merely wanted that woman to lead us out of this place. I had no other intentions. You misunderstood. A misunderstanding is one thing, but to keep talking nonsense about it, when we return, I will make sure you double your training."
Ye Shiyuan was now almost entirely responsible for Xu Feng’s cultivation. So when he said that, Xu Feng immediately began groaning in misery.
"Master, he’s bullying me. You have to stand up for me."
"I can’t manage that."
"You can. You’re the Master."
Bai He slightly lifted his chin, looking a bit proud. "Now you remember I’m the Master. Usually, how do you mock me? Saying my cultivation isn’t good enough, that I can’t beat you, and so on, I remember all of it."
In an instant, Xu Feng was rendered speechless.
He really had said quite a few things he shouldn’t have.
"Master, I was wrong."
"If you apologize, I’ll forgive you. But in the future, you can’t speak carelessly. I don’t really mind, but your Senior Brother will get angry."
Xu Feng obediently nodded. "Understood, Master."
Xu Feng was actually a very strange person.
Sometimes his mouth was sharp and unforgiving, yet at other times he was just like a child.
Bai He himself was even younger than him.
Sometimes, he was even more childish.
Ye Shiyuan had practically become the only adult among them.
Yet he was only twenty years old.
The two trials were now over.
There was still some distance before reaching the third trial, so they could temporarily rest here.
It was a very, very long corridor.
Strange paintings were drawn along both sides of the corridor.
Bai He had been well protected and did not need to rest at all.
While the other two were resting, he walked along the corridor and examining the paintings one by one.
"Host, actually, when these are connected together, they form an exquisite cultivation technique. In a certain sense, it’s very suitable for you."
Bai He nodded.
His cultivation truly lacked the accumulation of time and foundation.
Cultivation Techniques that were overly difficult and domineering did not suit him.
Otherwise, they would require too much time to master and not only would they fail to produce results, they might even backfire.
It was not false to say that this place was filled with treasures everywhere.
Although many of these things could not be taken out since once it removed from where they belonged, they would disappear.
As long as something was remembered in the mind, however, it would not vanish.
Bai He examined the paintings one by one, while the system helped him record everything perfectly.
He did not know how long he had been walking, yet he still had not reached the end of the corridor.
...
Xu Feng was the first to open his eyes.
He then looked around and saw Ye Shiyuan was beside him.
However, Bai He was nowhere to be seen.
He glanced around anxiously and called out, "Senior Brother? Senior Brother?"
Ye Shiyuan had expended more spiritual energy than Xu Feng, so naturally, he needed a longer time to recover.
"What is it?"
It could be said that he had been woken up by Xu Feng’s voice.
"Master is gone."
Ye Shiyuan instantly became fully alert.
Within his visible range, Bai He was indeed nowhere to be seen.
He was clearly a little flustered as well.
Xu Feng shouted loudly, but only echoes answered him and there was no sound from Bai He.
"This is bad. Could Master have been captured by something strange?"
Xu Feng always liked to imagine the worst possibilities.
"That won’t happen."
Ye Shiyuan replied as he had already begun walking forward.
If Bai He had wandered off out of curiosity, he would certainly have gone ahead.
He would never have gone back the way they came.
Bai He had finally reached the end of the corridor when Mo Zhu said, "Host, everything has been completely recorded for you."
"Alright."
Just as his voice fell, Xu Feng’s shout could be heard in the distance.
Only then did Bai He realize that he seemed to have been away for quite a long time.
He quickly go back and soon he saw Ye Shiyuan and Xu Feng.
"Master, you ran off again," Xu Feng said, his face full of reproach.
Ye Shiyuan, however, let out a breath of relief. "Master, how did you end up all the way here?"
"I thought the paintings on the wall were quite interesting, so I kept looking as I walked. They seem to depict some kind of cultivation technique..."
Ye Shiyuan glanced at them. "That is indeed the case."
"So I just kept looking and looking until I reached the end." Bai He pointed ahead. "It’s right up there. We’re almost there. Are you two finished resting?"
Xu Feng looked somewhat embarrassed. "Master, I’ve rested enough, but Senior Brother was just woken up by me. I’m not sure whether he’s fully recovered."
Bai He shot Xu Feng a glare. "That was unnecessary."
"I was just worried about you."
"I have so many magical tools. How could anything possibly happen to me? Why don’t we rest a bit longer?"
Bai He made the suggestion.
If they did not rest properly, what would they do about the next trial?
"Master, I’m fine."
Ye Shiyuan liked to act tough.
It was not as though Bai He did not know that.
"You might not be tired, but I walked so far that even I feel exhausted. I want to rest a little longer."
Ye Shiyuan knew that Bai He was deliberately saying that.
He had no choice but to sit down again and continue recovering his strength.
About half an hour later, they had rested sufficiently and the three of them set off once more.
The moment they stepped into the third trial, everything around them changed instantly.
Even the air became noticeably fresher.
